Andy hadn't been paying attention when Sonnet had come to her offering her tea, so Andy had whipped around with a startled expression and a face full of sandwich. Swallowing hard, she panicked a little, not knowing the proper etiquette of 'tea parties' and reached for the cup and knocked it over onto the ground. "Oh, I'm so sorry.." she muttered as she fumbled with the cup and eventually gave up, setting it back down in front of her on the table. "What do I do with it?" she asked, looking to Sonnet with a confused and pleading face. She couldn't understand what she needed to do, as she covered her face with her hands in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry.." she muttered again through her hands as she thought hard on what she could do to make the situation better.

Giovanni quickly pouted when the shinys were moved away... again. Plopping down onto his rear on the ground, he stared at the bracelets, still wanting one. The boy hadn't even looked up to see who else was there before he spoke;

"I unno anyones here." He stated in a rather 'matter of fact' tone, one which he had quickly adopted from his mother. With his eyes still transfixed on the bracelets, Giovanni's mind went from the idea of stealing, to asking...mainly because he probably wouldn't get away with nabbing a shiny from this girl anytime soon now that he noticed the snakes.

"I kin has shiny?" The blue haired boy asked cutely, looking up at Adeline before looking down at her bracelets yet again. Ooh, he wanted one so bad.

Like Adeline, all Sorrel found herself capable of doing for several seconds was staring at Giovanni - she knew he had been wanting something to do with the other girl's bracelets, but what? To touch them? To play with them? Did he not know what they were? But when Adeline addressed her again she looked back at her, blinking out of her half daze.

Was the kid hers? She shook her head.
"No. He's not mine." She looked more curious than anything at that point, and the tears that had filled her eyes were beginning to disappear as she blinked repetitively (she didn't notice when one rogue tear escaped the corner of her eye and rolled down her cheek). "I think he wants one of your bracelets," she mused aloud, and seconds later the thought was confirmed by his asking.

Well, that's not very nice, she thought with a faint huff. Asking for a girl's jewelry! Despite how cute he was (those pinchable cheeks!), Sorrel seemed to have forgotten the fact that Giovanni was quite a bit younger than she and Adeline and probably didn't have a very good grasp on what 'rude' was yet.

"Thanks, miss," Onyx spoke. Then she continued a bit. "Are you the person running this party? If so, my brother and I made these for you." The blondish-streaked girl had offered the older girl, also a blonde, the bouquet. There were various flowers within it, of equally various colors, tied with a pale blue ribbon.
"Onis ied fawas, I ade fawas!" The green-haired boy at Onyx's feet piped up. "Onis caws it 'hank-oo if.'"
Onyx then proceeded to speak again, to translate her brother's babble. "Yes, Lou-lou, Onyx made the bouquet and you grew the flowers... I'm Onyx. My brother's actual name is Lyuben."
"Hi, miss!" Lyuben said, waving at Sonnet. "I o find sea!" So he went to do what he said; Lyuben went to find a seat. "It wi me, Onis!"
"I'll give this to her first, Lou-lou - try one of the food things for me!"
"Ey," Lyuben responded. He took a half of a sandwich off one of the plates and proceeded to nibble on one.

Sonnet smiled reassuringly to Andy. "It's fine, it's just a cup. I'm going to pour some hot tea in it, and you can drink it," she explained. "It'll be hot though, so you'll want to let it cool, and there's sugar and honey if you'd like to try it sweeter, and milk if you prefer it to have a slightly more creamy flavour to it," she said as she gave a quick dust to the cup she had been fumbling with before filling it up halfway with tea. "If you want more, don't hesitate to ask me. Right now I need to finish serving the other guests, but I'll be back in a bit, okay?"

Next off was to take the flowers from the brother-sister combo. "Oh thank you! They are lovely! If I had a vase I'd put them in water right now but I don't, and yes, I am the one in charge of this little event. It's nice to meet the both of you," she said with a gentle smile and a nod as she placed the flowers on a safe place on the table.

Hayden was next. "Tea is a hot drink, so you need to be sure that you don't wiggle your cup too much or it will spill out and hurt a bit, ok sweetie?" she said to him.

"'Kay!" Hayden waited patiently as she poured the drink into his cup. He then lifted it carefully, with a most serious expression on his face, blew on it a little and then sipped a bit of it. "Bitterrrr!" He exclaimed as he set it down a little too harshly. A bit of the hot liquid splashed onto his hand, but all he really did was stare at it, eyes watering before he wiped his hand off on his lime green overalls. "Dun like it.. nuh-uh." He shook his head and rubbed at one eye with a tiny fist.

Andy nodded and thanked Sonnet for the tea, then stared at the half-filled cup for a good 3 or 4 minutes before lifting the cup to her lips and taking a sip. Her body retracted in distaste as the tea happened to be too bitter for her. Cringing for a few seconds she set the cup back down and looked around for something to put into her tea to make it sweeter, or at least less bitter. Leaning over the table slightly, trying to avoid getting food in her clothes and hair. She reahed over and grabbed a small container for tea and spooned out some sugar into her tea and took another sip. She seems more pleased this time and then put four more spoonfuls of sugar into the cup and returned the container. She picked up her spoon and stirred her tea. She drank the rest of it a little quicker than she expected and her eyes seem to light up. She could now feel the sugar starting to coarse through her veins as she began to giggle a little to herself.

Adeline was a little awkward after this, shining a bright light on the fact that she felt alien in the world of socializing. Her first response to the request was to blink her way slowly out of a hazy-eyed stupor, and then quickly retract her arm to her chest as if expecting the jewelry to be nabbed right off of her wrist. The same thing every kid does when they don't want to share.

"You want one of my bracelets?"

It was more of a confirmation of what little Gio had said, not a question. She processed the words and looked quizzically from the boy, to Sorrel who had guessed correctly. The purple girl didn't seem to know what she was supposed to do when asked a question like that, and furrowed her brow in utter puzzlement.

Not only was she rather attached to her own 'shinies', but she supposed they had been a gift from her mom. That might not make her very popular around the house, if she gave one away....but what was one bracelet? A less innocent thought seeped through her mind afterward. They had been a gift to the other Adeline, anyway - not her.

So whether she was driven by generosity or bitterness, she hesitantly held out her arm to the toddler and stuttered in a tone that insisted he was very lucky to have such an honor.

"...One. Point to just one, okay?"

And then looked guiltily at Sorrel again, as if pointedly daring her to say something about the offer.

Nodding when it was asked if he wanted one of the purple skinned girls bracelets, Giovanni smiled brightly, though when he was allowed to point at one he became overjoyed and nearly fell over. Clapping happily, he bowed deeply, a motion he had learned from watching some of the transactions his mother did in her shop.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" Giovanni says quickly and cheerfully, his eyes wide and full of joy as he eyes the bracelets again, pointing to the one that was the shiniest, "Kin I has that 'un? Is really shiny! I like shinies."

"Wat is iss?" Lyuben thought out loud. The sandwich filling, from what he could see, looked to be green, white and pale pink layers. It tasted good to him, but the young boy, unlike most, actually liked his vegetables. He could tell he was eating some sort of leaf, but the white and pale pink layers - cheese and turkey slices - were a mystery to him. "Is ummi."
Onyx went to join him after giving a nod and a smile to the hostess, an attempt at a nonverbal 'thank you.' She noticed that two of the other guests had reactions to their tea; a young boy around her brother's age had almost spilled his cup after saying his tea was bitter, and a girl around her own looked like she was making a tea-flavored sugar drink instead. Onyx hadn't ever tasted tea herself, often drinking plain water at home, so she wondered why Andy was placing multiple sugar spoonfuls in her cup of tea. "What's tea without sugar like?" Onyx asked Andy, curious about what others thought of it. In the meantime, she took a cookie from a nearby platter, putting it on her face-down sketchbook, an impromptu plate.

Sorrel watched the exchange, a frown curving her lips, brows furrowed just enough to form a tiny crease. She hadn't expected Adeline to give up her jewelry. The fact that they may have been expensive didn't mean much to the blue-haired girl, who was too young to comprehend that kind of thing; she more figured that, since her own jewelry (along with all her other possessions) were too precious to her to give them up so easily, it would be the same for this girl.

"It's rude to ask for peoples' things, you know," she said, sounding a little huffy as she repeated what she herself had been told once when she was about Giovanni's age. She almost said something else when she saw him pick the shiniest one (the nerve!), but managed to hold her tongue by some stroke of fate.

It was the other girl's choice to make, she figured with some reluctance. If she wanted to give up her bracelet, she wouldn't be stopping her. Telling other people what to do was another thing her mother had told her was rude.

Besides, at least he had said 'thank you'.

So instead, scooting a little bit closer to Adeline, she said,
"That one's pretty. Are you sure it's okay?" Sorrel looked at the other girl curiously, as though trying to provide her with an out, though after saying he could pick one (and not specify any he couldn't have) it would be hard to say no.

Adeline's watching eyes didn't miss Sorrel's disapproval, even before she ever opened her mouth. She could tell from the start that this probably wasn't the best way to deal with a kid asking for things, but a strange emotion made her act otherwise. Something rebellious that wanted to somehow get back at SOMEONE for her illness. So if it meant giving some random little boy a bracelet, something probably personal to her, she could manage.

"It's all right, Sorrel - it's only one."
She mumbled, a tone thick with avoidance. "Don't worry about it."

It helped that Gio was so enthusiastic, it was kind of adorable seeing his excitement over a little gift. It would be nice to have a brother like this, probably. The opposite hand wriggled the thin gold bangle off of her wrist, leaving plenty left in it's absence. Unknown to her, there was a tiny 'A' engraved on the side of it - obviously for her name. A pause, and then she held it out to him. A small smile from her, to boot.

"You're welcome. Don't lose it though, okay? You can't lose this."

Her small purple hands folded in her lap tightly, a contrast to the smile on her face. It was like she was internally fighting over whether to regret, or like the exchange. She wondered what the kid's parents were going to think when he came home with a girl's bracelet. In this time of thought, Adeline hadn't even noticed that Sorrel had moved closer. The surprising part of this was, in fact, that she hadn't been bitten. Maybe the snakes were starting to warm to her?

While the chatter had been going on, Sonnet had quickly made her rounds, pouring tea for everyone. If they didn't have a cup nearby she fetched one before pouring, making sure to tell each and every one of them that the drink was hot and to be careful. She poured a cup for Gio as well, even though she wasn't sure if he was even interested, but she would let him know in a bit.

She then moved back to Hayden. "It's easy to fix the bitter," she began to explain, taking a spoon and scooping a bit of sugar from the bowl into his cup and stirring it. "Try that sweetie. It should taste better now,"

Giovanni smiled, quickly putting the bracelet around his own wrist, though he found that it was too big so he put it in the next safest spot, his pocket.

"Thankyooou." He said happily, though as he put the bracelet in his pocket, he had remembered that he had nabbed something from his mothers workshop. It had been a small squiggly thing of glass among other pendants like it seeing as Aderyn had been working on glass work for the past few months, testing her skill in it. Taking the pendant out, he looked at it before looking at it and holding it out to the snake haired girl.

"Here... take... as uhn... I dunno the word.. " Giovanni frowns wishing that he knew the word that he was looking for.

Hayden watched with curiosity as she stirred the sugar into his tea. Once it was all stirred in he lifted the cup, once more with serious carefulness, and then took a sip. "Be'er!' He exclaimed happily and then took another sip. Hopefully he wouldn't try getting his own sugar to make it even sweeter...
