Moonlight Penguin My question, which everyone probably wants to know, is why do you like Twilight? Well, to answer your question, I love the Twilight Series, due to my being open-minded, as well as liking the concept of the type of literature that is out there. I like just about any form, the concept of vampires, I just believe it to be a good book. 3nodding Take the whole mystical vibe of the series, relating it to Harry Potter, it's in the same kind of catergory, is it not? Well, I think it is, At least. lol There are hundered and thousands of books, in any form of a genre you can think of. Not all of us could like the same things. Well, to wrap this up, I just think that the series is good, but not superb, in the sense. The whole concept of what the author considered I suppose "The Forbidden Fruit" is what attracts most. As I'm sure it has to some of you, and, sometimes giving it a chance, would make all the difference-Whether or not you liked the book, At least you tried! Not everyone can like it. Hope this answers your questions. wink

I met Sir Severus Snape/Evelyn the Night Hawk and we had a friendly debate about Harry Potter and Twilight. While I adore BOTH series', she mentioned that I was a "sane" twilight fan, and invited me to join this forum, thinking that maybe it would be nice to have an opposition. Yen and Yang, if you will. I enjoy both series' mainly because in order to enjoy them, you have to have an open mind. This is a trait true to me and I am proud to call myself an open-minded person. But, unfortunately, i have been thrown into a pit of closed minded people who refuse to see outside the box quiz me all you want, call me a twitard, whatever. I did not write the book, therefore these names will not offend me. I enjoy what I enjoy, and if you don't .. fine.. I respect your opinion and all i ask is that you respect mine. 3nodding As to answering your questions there were so many! Let's see..
@ angry_hedgehog4=My question is what you think of all the rabid Twilight fangirls. I mean the other ones who think SMeyers is a prophet, and are convinced that Edward Cullen actually exists.
I would say that, although the book series is good in my opinion, They're going ridiculously overboard with the whole idea of ficitional characters being real. Especially seeing the ones with "Bite Me, Edward"..Etc. It kind of made all people maybe step away from the hectic fandom or maybe even cringe thinking all Twilight readers are like this. Well let me assure you, I'm definatelly NOT one of them! sweatdrop
As I haven't answered all your questions due to the replies added to it confusing me, but, if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to PM me! smile

What do you think of Meyer's concept of "vampires"?
In my opinions, they can hardly be called vampires at all. As stated by my favorite author, vampires weren't made up by some novel writer; they used to be portrayed as true as the moon in the sky, by villagers who recorded being attacked, and officials of the same places.
Might just be my "if you didn't make it up, it's not yours to do with" way of thought.
Also what do you think of the other popular vampire series out there?

It is nice to know there are fans out there that wont stomp on our pet goldfishes for not liking the series. My question doesn't relate to the story, but rather, what did you think about her writing style? Myself, I found it dull, which is why I didn't continue reading the book (and Bella/Edward annoyed the ******** out of me). Ω

Do you mean like how it was overly descriptive?

Do you mean like how it was overly descriptive? In my opinion SMeyer has a special talent: She can describe a scene for thousand pages and still no one can imagine what exactly she means. The overuse of adjectives like *golden*, *smoldering*, *pale*,... etc also hurts a lot. sweatdrop

My opinion on her concept of vampires are actually pretty cool to me, as to it being somewhat ridiculous at times, but at the same time, she correlated as to why she chose the ability for each one. And, you are correct, they were portrayed in a way! I think she made it very unique, and at the same time tried to stay within the lines of the perspective of one. The popular vampire series out there, I think they're great! They do what they do to focus on certain crowds of bookworms such as ourselves wink Also, the most author that never ceases to amaze me has to be Anne Rice smile

Yes, indeed it is nice! smile I found her style of writing to be accurately descriptive to the 'T'. Although, at times, I feel some parts aren't to be so descripted, to me, it blows the whole idea of imagining as what something looks. Her writing style started out basic, but as I gradually read on, you get used to it. At least it's just me. lol

My question is; What do you think of the mass amount of people that think that Twilight is anti-feminist? And the fact that 1o year olds are reading it, giving them the idea that teenage marriage and teenage pregnancy is good?
