Akio began sprinting out of the mist once his clones were destroyed by the ground caving in. Once out of the mist, Akio began to look for Kyoma, since he didn't see her he figured that she was on the other side of the mist. Akio started to think to himself 'Well, victory is completely out of sight as of now. Should I go ahead and finish the fight? I don't think so, why risk being injured when you've already lost, right? Ofcourse thats right, I've already used up alot of chakra, and if I do end up injuring her it'll only make her chances at becoming a chunin lower... No reason to hold back a fellow village member. Then again there goes my slim chance at becoming chunin... I'll learn to live with my choices one of these days.' After the mist would clear, Akio Would raise his hand and announce "I withdrawl."

Kyoma nearly dropped her kunai as she heard Akio's surrender. What is this all of a sudden? I mean, the fight only started not too long ago! Could he already have used so much chakra? She furrowed her eyebrows in frustration. "You're giving up already?" She asked, taking a few steps closer to the shattered earth. She could see his figure clearly now, standing on the other side of the massive whole she had created. So I guess that means my trap didn't work. She frowned slightly and looked through to the crowd. If this is a victory, it doesn't feel like one.
She looked back to Akio and then shook her head, replacing her disappointment with a small smile. "Even though I didn't get to show my full potential, it was really fun battling with you, Akio-san." She gripped onto her kunai tighter as she said this, waiting for Akio's surrender to be official before she actually put away her weapon.

Teleporting back onto the field, directly between the two candidates, Death turned to face Akio. "Are you sure you wish to withdraw from the match? This is your last chance," he warned. Death could only wonder the reasoning Akio had behind his actions, perhaps his motives were more mature than they seemed.

"So be it," accepted Death. "The winner is Kyoma Sakura!!" he announced to the crowd and they cheered for a bit before the majority left their seats to visit the restroom, get some food, or to just stretch their legs. Speaking to Akio and Kyoma, Death informed them, "You're match was obviously short, but I feel you both showed a good taste of your skills. I will definitely want to see you two fighting in the future, perhaps on teams. But for now you are both dismissed until the announcement of the new chuunins. Good job today, both of you"

"Later," Akio said before making a few quick hand signs, after which Akio's body turned to water and hit the ground. Akio stood up from the stands and began to leave, while hiding within the crowd.

Akio's actions were strange. Death had even thought that he seemed like he was rushing off to perform a special mission for someone. There was a lot to wonder about and Death didn't expect to stop wondering for a while. Death would have to keep an eye open for Akio, something was going on.

Kyoma bowed to Akio before he had disappeared and then turned to Death, giving him a small smile. "I really didn't expect it to end like this," she pouted and then looked to the audience. "Especially after just a short amount of time." She shook her head before turning back to Death and giving him a bow. She then stood up straight and waved as she ran towards the exit. "See you later, Death-sama!" She jumped with excitement as she neared the door of the arena. Now to cheer on Kenji and Haru-chan!
