"I'm sure a lot of us could have been friends but that's obviously not going to work. Different goals and all," Taurus said rather sweetly considering what was going on.
Naive little senshi was right."Oh? Are you forced to join or something?" Any information about them would be worlds of knowledge for him. What could make a girl that seemed so nice do this so readily? "You don't have a choice in whether or not you kill people?" He added cautiously. Honestly, there probably wouldn't have been an answer that he would be satisfied with but leave it to him to ask it anyway.
He watched her closely, trying to measure any movement her and her quickly growing friend would make. Two against one was never the best odds. However, she seemed to like conversation. Maybe keeping her talking would stop the fists from flying. "Do we really have to do this? Nobody even has to know that we met. I mean, it's obvious that you're not going to get any information from me and I'm not getting any from you. Killing each other would be pretty useless in that sense right? We can just start out new and fresh and-"
Of course, like what happens in the middle of most disguised pleads for mercy, a fist came flying towards him. Taurus ducked out of suffering a direct hit but was still thrown back by the force of it, nearly losing his balance and sending himself face first into the concrete walkway below. A quick few steps to the right and he was thankfully back on his feet and hopefully out of it's reach. His eyes darted to the edge of the roof again as he chewed on his bottom lip in worry. Well...that can't happen again... It was obvious that floating around and avoiding their strikes for all eternity wasn't an option. If he overstayed his welcome, that bunny thing would knock him out cold. Another sidestep to the right and he started working out a plan. If only he could pull it off.

Did she have to spell it out for him? She refused to remark on his questions, lips kept silent. The zodiac's desire to please and carry out the wishes of their princess out of their loyalty for her was admirable-- Serandite envied it. But her desire for Queen Beryl stemmed somewhere from awe and fear. There was no doubt that Beryl had Serandite's loyalty-- but not the kind of loyalty that Tanzanite had, to throw her life in her friend's way. It was either follow Beryl or die in the negaverse.
Somehow, Serandite doubted that Beryl would care if the pink haired captain's life was lost. Nealite might. But not Beryl-- perhaps, not even Charonite. (She actually couldn't ever predict how that man was thinking but that was a different story entirely.) However, she wouldn't admit this to Taurus.
"That's what's so damned useless about you senshi. You think that you don't have to fight--" Serandite made a frustrated gesture with her hands, shaking her head. "-- but we're in the middle of a war. We can't possibly not fight. Hello, what do you think war means? We're not fighting for cookies in a tea party, that's for sure." She wasn't getting anywhere with her bunny. Instead, Serandite came up from the other side of her bunny, launching a sweeping kick towards Taurus's feet with a very deep frown.

It was hard to believe that anyone could be that cruel. Of course, this was coming from someone who would more easily understand physics than their motives. Beryl would not miss Serandite but Chronos would certainly miss him. He knew that. Taurus couldn't die in this war and certainly not in this battle. Sagittarius was already lost. He had to get back...
Taurus wanted this to be about cookies. He wanted them to be able to laugh, get some espressos and talk it over like mature adults. However, that was not going to happen. It was probably the most unrealistic thing he'd ever wished for since grade school. She was completely right. This was war and this particular senshi just wasn't getting it. He should have been but he wasn't. There would never be an easy way to resolve this crisis. Taurus held out his hands in front of him as if he was trying to put up a physical and invisible barrier between them. Of course, it wouldn't have been hard for her to miss how violently his fingers trembled or how he lightly chewed his bottom lip out of fright.
He'd left himself totally open and it wasn't until the vice-captain felt pain in one of his shin from her kick that he'd noticed this. The vice-captain stumbled back, trying to stop himself from falling and being quite unsuccessful this time.
"Defending Wall Fortification!" Whether out of panic or fear, he finally got out the few words he needed. The ground shook by his feet, a crack forming a crooked line between the agent, the weapon and the fallen senshi. It only took a moment for the wall to form, stone stacking themselves on top of each other until it was about the height of her animated weapon. If there was one thing Taurus could do right, it was being a defensive force and that wall was definitely a good show of that.

Trembling posture. Uncertainty. Serandite felt him mirror her emotions-- and hated him all the more for it. She could feel her annoyance rising as she gave him a firm hard kick to the shins. Petty satisfaction made it's way into her brain, knowing that the other would have a nasty bruise, where her heel impacted. Heels were deadly double-sided weapons.
She had even less time to react however, when walls started to stack themselves between herself and her enemy. She looked at the stone structure skeptically, wondering if it was a sort of illusion. Cautiously, she pressed a hand against it. Solid. Punched it. Solid. Kicked it. Solid.
Ow. And Ow.
"What do I do? Belphegor can't get past these walls. And Loppy can't smash them down either. Do not just tell I just lost a clueless senshi who was right in front of me." Serandite voiced aloud angrily and sarcastically to herself. The senshi had never fought a battle before! A captain lost to a complete and total newbie? She pounded the stone wall angrily, the resulting pain of her knuckles could only match the seething rage inside. Boooooo. Boo. Perhaps, once these walls fell, she could send Belphegor after his trail. If he didn't henshin down, that is.

They couldn't get through...
The senshi starred down at his toes, tapping the edge of his shoe against the stone almost as if he was testing the wall himself. It wasn't the first time he'd used it in battle but that was only against youma. Serandite's determination seemed like the only thing that could break though and yet she was stuck on the other side, yelling to herself about it. Maybe he wasn't as powerless as he thought. Stone had stopped her dead in her tracks when all had seemed lost. It was...empowering to say the least. The senshi started to chuckle as he kicked the wall again.
Nope. Still solid.
Still trembling, Taurus rose to his feet. "I'm not such a clueless senshi after all! I knew how to stop you didn't I?" Even with the new found ability to stop agents in their tracks he was still as clueless and naive as before. Of course, maybe next time, he'd throw a punch knowing that he could put up a wall and protect himself. Maybe it had gotten stronger since last time? Maybe a horde of bull youma had an easier time destroying it? Taurus didn't know and didn't care at that point.
"And I'm not just any senshi. I am a member of the zodiac guard!" For the first time, it felt right saying that. It wasn't an introduction. It was a warning. "Just because I'm not knowledgeable of your kind does not mean I'm as weak as those you may have fought before!"
Sailor Taurus slowly started to back towards the fire escape. He figured he should run while he had the upper hand but why not have a few words while he figured that she couldn't do a think to stop him at the moment. "Besides, imagine what I could have done if I had known who you were from the start. Remember that if we happen to run into each other again..." The moment his heels dangled off the edge of the building, he slid down the edges of the fire escape, unaware that she could probably still track him in this state.

Serandite was getting pissed. With all the remarks shouted back at her, she decided that kicking him in the groin several times would be much better than getting his starseed. An eye for an eye and a little extra.
Her senses grew alert-- zodiac guard? The zodiacs? She let such a prize get away? She sweared, she would get a groin kick and some extra when they met up again. But for now.. Well, she didn't think it was necessary information for her General-King to know that she had lost foolishly against a zodiac member. She rubbed the back of ner neck sheepishly, reluctantly accepting the fact that Taurus had escaped since he wasn't shouting back insults at her.
She decided to take Taurus's advice. She would forget about this encounter-- nobody else needed to know of this miserable loss. She sighed, slumped against a tree. New tactics. Obviously, deception wasn't going to work the next time. She should have just gone straight for it, within the first few seconds.
Goddamnit.
