Crescendo's eyes widened as he looked around the open plains and up at the visible sky. Everything really was beautiful beyond his home. There was so much more to see and experience than he had originally thought. He smiled brightly and watched Rondel streak out in front him, practically dancing in the open. She looked so beautiful in the evening light.
"This...this is...it's amazing! It's beautiful out here Rondel!" He called, running out to meet her in the open. "It's everything and more that you said it would be!"

Rondel glanced over at him and smiled radiantly at him. "Isn't it?" she said sniffing slightly and rubbing her head against her foreleg. "Oh, its been so long." she straightened up and sighed happily before moving closer to Crescendo and leaned against him.
She stayed there as the sun set and the stars slowly came out. "And now the stars come out to dance." she said giddily.
She pranced away from him in her happiness and slowly began to dance unable to express herself in words anymore.

He looked up toward the sky once more. He was surprised to see so many lights twinkling back at him. His thoughts were pulled away from the world around him to focus on Rondel once more. Her bells sounded strangely more beautiful out in the open like this. The sound was ringing off of everything and sounded like it was stretching for miles for all to hear.
Pushing himself back up and out of the grass, Crescendo pranced over to her happily. His wings started their usual buzz as he moved slowly to make an attempt to follow her dance moves.

Rondel glanced over at him and laughed musically. She slowed her pace to make it easier for him to follow her then slowly weaved around him in a circular pattern like a simple waltz, her bells chiming out all the music they needed.
Eventually she stopped breathing quickly. She moved close to Crescendo and nuzzled him happily. "We should get some rest. We'll have a long day tomorrow too." she murmured before nipping him playfully and then dancing away, waiting for him to come catch her.

Crescendo happily followed her movements, sticking close to her up until she circled him. "Graceful movements." He murmured, nuzzling her back. She was right though. They needed all the rest they could get.
He nodded and pranced after her, eventually stopping to settle down in the tallest portion of the plains grass he could find.

Rondel followed and settled close to him resting her head against him. "Good night, Cres..." she murmured before dropping off, feeling happier than she had in a long while. They were still far way from the goal but it was a little closer than it had been yesterday, or the day before.
The sound of morning birds woke her early the next morning. Rondel murmured happily nuzzling against Crescendo before getting up and stretching and looking around considering where to go next, and gently nipped at the grass around her.

Crescendo smiled at her again, getting comfortable with her against him. He still enjoyed moments like this. Just the two of them in the quiet of the night with no one or nothing else around to bother them. He glanced up at the sky to watch the stars twinkle for a while before drifting off himself.

He awoke to the sounds of the grass rustling beside him. Raising his head a bit, Crescendo glanced around searching out Rondel. "...sleep well?" He asked, pushing himself up and stretching as well. "Strange sleeping in such an open place without the sounds of the forest around you..."

Rondel turned and smiled. "Good morning~" she said brightly before nodding. "Yes, slept better than I have in a long time."
She looked around and nodded. "But it has its own music, lots of little birds and insects live out on the plains, and the wind through the grass." she sighed happily before going over to him and nuzzling him. "I think I know which way to go, too." she smiled. "I thought about it, and this area looks somewhat familiar to me."

He nodded and looked around in the light of day again. The plains didn't have the same safety the forest did. Hiding wasn't nearly as easy. Granted it was easier for him than it was for Rondel. Crescendo shook his head and sighed before smiling back up at her. "It'll take some getting used to."
He glanced around again, looking off toward the mountains on the horizon. "Where is it you think she is now...?" He asked, keeping his gaze forcused on the purple-blue giants.

"No, but, I have an idea. Although she didn't say it directly, I think she wanted to go find my father and brother and sister. If she didn't linger around here to find me, she went to him, and that's back in the mountains a bit." she said with a nod.
She glanced over at him and tilted her head reading his body language. "Relax, we'll find her soon." she said. "And...I know someplace that we'd both feel comfortable in." she said with a smile.

He tilted his head curiously at her. "Someplace we'll be comfortable in? But there are no forests in the mountains....are there?" He asked, moving closer to her and looking at the horizon again. They just looked purple and covered in snow to him. There was no possible way there were forests or anything up there.
"But...we should go. Don't want to keep her waiting any longer."

Rondel laughed. "No down here on the plains. I'll show it to you after." she gently touched her nose to his cheek before trotting ahead in the direction she was sure the shell rock laid in, her bells sending out a merry jingle that she actually felt today.
"Its pretty big...we'll be able to see it maybe this afternoon, I don't think we're that far from it." she said looking over at him. "From there we'll head back towards the pass in the mountains. If we don't find her..." she paused and thought. "I think I know the way to the herd." she said.

Crescendo nodded and hoped for the best. He didn't want anything bad to have happened to Rondel's family in the time she's been gone. That just wouldn't be fair to any of them. He smiled and followed after her, eaily keeping pace and almost trying to dance along to the chime of her bells.

Rondel smiled as she glanced over to watch him trot along with her. She loved the way he moved, the way the light reflected through his wings. In truth she loved everything about him, and probably had since the moment she met him so long ago. She'd come close to telling him so many times but for some reason she just hadn't brought herself to say it yet. She shook her head. There would be time for that later.
The sun was just past its zenith when the huge rock came into view. Rondel smiled and cantered up happily. "Its still just as amazing as when I first saw it~" she said happily, admiring the giant shell that looked as if it had been plucked from the shore line.

Crescendo stayed close to her side the entire trip to the rock. He had started up a rhythmic pace in his walking to the tune of her bells and his wings. He smiled whenever the sun hit her. She practically glowed in his eyes and the light shining through his wings and onto her, mixed with the sparkle of her bells just made it that much better. He loved her so much, but could never find the words to say anything to her.
His eyes widened when he saw the formation before him. It was amazing! He never imagined something shaped like that could exist in such a place. "That's the greatest rock I've ever seen, Rondel..." he murmured, glancing over at her briefly.
