Imbrium had traveled for hours the day before looking for the little colt. How on earth could such a tiny little thing get quite so far on his own? Well, perhaps he hadn't. No. She wasn't about to start thinking like that. Not just yet. The black mare had managed to grab a few hours sleep when the sun went down. It was useless for her to look for him in the dark, and she only would have succeeded in getting herself lost. When the sun had risen in the morning so had she.
Not long after she had set out she found a little stream and began to follow alongside of it. At some point the little colt would have to find something to drink and following this little stream was the best option that she had. As Imbri walked along the water she started to think too much. Had he been eaten in the night? What if she had gone the wrong way? After all, it was such a long way for one so small to travel.
Imbrium was just about to give up and go the other direction when she heard something. Quickly she came to a stop and stood still, ears swiveling. Not too far ahead of her she could hear sobs. Feeling a little jolt of hope the mare set off at a trot and quickly came in sight of the foal she was in search of.

His sobs came to a quick stop as he heard another approaching. Oh gods, his father had found him. Heart pounded inside his chest, what would he do? Should he try to run? Surely the larger horse would be able to stop him before he got to his feet. His body shook violently with fear. Slowly, very slowly he opened his eyes. He jerked his head away. Nameless had expected a pair of hooves coming down on his skull but no that wasn't the case. Instead his eyes fell upon a large black mare.
Was this not the one who had distracted his father as he ran? Was she here to finish off what Thanos had started and merely stopped the stallion so that she could have the glory of the kill? No, it didn't look like that. But this colt had learned quickly in his time among the Hell Herd that looks could be deceiving. Rolling onto his stomach the colt looked closely at the mare. She didn't have a look or hatred to her...yet. "D-don't hurt me."

Imbrium came to a quick stop in front of the colt. He looked worn out with possibly a few scratches from foliage but from what she could see there didn't seem to be any major damage done. At least not physically. Who knew what the stallion had done to him mentally. She had just opened her mouth to ask him if he was okay when he spoke. She immediately frowned a little. Don't hurt him? Of course she wasn't going to hurt him. Didn't he know that she had been trying to save him? She did suppose he had gone through a lot and perhaps hadn't herd her yelling at his father.
"Of course I'm not going to hurt you." She spoke softly and kindly. She needed to be carefully of what she did and said. Any fast movements too might upset and frighten him. "I only came out here to see if you're okay. To see if I can help you." The colt was too young to be alone out here, too young to be without any mother or at least someone to take care of him. He had to be terribly frightened.

His trembling somewhat went away. Though he did keep his guard up, just because the mare seemed nice now didn't mean that she wouldn't turn on him shortly. Best be on your feet if that happens, he told himself. Carefully he raised himself onto his hooves, his legs were still trembling, somewhat out of fear and a bit of exhaustion. He was far to young to be running for his life, especially the distance that he had ran the other day. But at least he had a full stomach right now.
With his tail tucked between his legs he looked at the mare with his red eyes. Why would she want to help him? He didn't understand it. The only ones to ever show kindness to him were his mother and his sister agony when they hid away in that small clearing. "W-why do y-you want to help me?"

Oh my. Imbri thought to herself. Thanos really had done a number on this one. And to think she had actually wanted to be with him at one point. Would he have done the same to her foals if they had ever had any? Probably, but Imbrium wouldn't have stood for it. Luckily that wouldn't be happening now, and she had more imprtant things to be doing then wondering about what would have been.
Imbri smiled sweetly at the foal. "Because as of right now you have no one to take care of you and to be honest I'm not quite sure you can make it on your own hun." She wasn't trying to rude or too motherly but there was no way this colt could survive on his own. "What's your name?" She asked him. "I'm Imbium."
The mare noticed the foal still looked a little nervous. "You know your father isn't coming after you. I made sure of it, and I would have noticed if he was following me."

The colt cocked his head to the side as the mare spoke. Her voice was gentle, it almost reminded him of his mothers voice. Regret always spoke softly and lovingly to him. Would he ever hear her voice again? Or feel her loving touch? It was all he wanted in this life, to be with his mother, to feel her affection once more. But he didn't think that would happen. Perhaps, this mare could be like a mother to him. She seemed nice enough at least.
His maw dropped into a frown and he brow furrowed when she asked for his name. Well he didn't have a name. No one had bothered to give him one. Sure, his mother had mentioned a time or two that she wished to give him a name, but she didn't get a chance to do so before he had been run out. "Nameless." He told her sadly. "They call me Nameless. Never gave me a name."

Imbri's heart fell a little when the colt spoke. His mother never even gave him a name? The mare supposed she hadn't really expected much of Thanos, he probably just ignored the colt, but his mother should have at least named him. Then again he didn't look too old. Maybe she just never had the chance to. It still hurt Imbri that anyone could be quite so cruel, especially to their own family. Not that that was a surprise. Her own mother had shunned her, but at least she had been given a name.
"No name? Well now, I see this as an opportunity." She said to the colt, trying to sound a little happier then she was. Perhaps she could try to chear the both of them up a little. "Why don't you name yourself? Hardly anyone ever gets to do that. Plus then you'll have a name you'll know that you like. I could help give you some ideas if want." She offered.

His ear flicked about. Why don't you just name yourself? Well that wasn't a half bad idea. He could think of a good name. Something that showed he was not weak or an abomination. He thought for a few moments about just what he would name himself. How did one choose a name? It was supposed to be the parents job to name a child. But his father had refused and his mother never had the opportunity to. That thought made him mad, very mad. Oh no, that feeling was coming back again and he wasn't sure how to fight it.
His eyes rolled back in his head and he let out a frantic whinny. No it was coming back and there was no way to stop it. His body no longer trembled, no instead his leg muscles went rigid. Head thrashed about, much like it would if someone was trying to closely watch a fly buzzing in front of them. Then his world went black for a moment, though he remained on his feet. Eyes rolled back and he stared at the black mare in front of him. Who the hell was she? And what was she doing here?
He let out an angry snort. Did she say something about his name. "I am Carnivore!" He yelled at her. How did she not know this already? He was the mighty carnivore, eater of meat and bringer of death. His name should be well known in these lands. She should be bowed to him, for he was a great beast. "Who are you? What do you want?"

Imbri watched paciently while the foal thought for a few moments. She was about to start suggesting a few names when something went horribly wrong. The mare watched in horror as his eyes rolled back and his head started thrashing. What was happening to him? Was he sick? Or maybe he was hurt and she hadn't noticed? Oh how had she not noticed? Imbri was about to rush forward and help the colt out when he stopped. Was he okay now?
The mare's head was filled with thoughts of worry and confusion. She still wasn't sure what had happened and was even more taken aback when the foal, er, spoke again. Carnivore? "Now what kind of name is th...?" She asked almost rudely but stopped abruptly as he spoke again. Who was she?
"Are you okay?" She asked rather softly again. "I already told you who I am and that I want to help you." She told him again. Maybe he really had hurt himself earlier. "Were you attacked at all last night? Are you sure you aren't injured." The mare was trying to keep her calm but all she knew something was wrong.

Carnivore barred his teeth at the mare. She dare question his name! It was a great name for a great horse. And why did she not answer his question? She was going on about if he were attacked or injured. That must mean that she had attacked him. Why that no good bit- he stopped himself with a shake of the head. "You did not answer my question. Who are you?" He said as he began to circle her much like a wolf circled it's prey before it went for the kill.
If she attacked him then why was she still here? Did she think to finish off the mighty Carnivore. Stupid mare! "I am more than okay. I am the mighty Carnivore." He yelled at her as he continued to circle, red eyes staring at her. "It was you who attacked me last night wasn't it? You thought you could defeat me. But you were wrong!" He stopped and thrust his head forward, teeth snapping at the mare flank in hopes of biting her hard. "Now you shall pay the price for your actions!"

Imbri stood even more shocked and confused then she had been a few moments before. What was wrong with this poor foal? Obviously his father had done far more damage to him then she had originally thought. Or perhaps Thanos had been wrong and his 'normal' son wasn't exactly as normal as he appeared to be. Once again Imbrium was about to say something except this time the little foal started to attack her!
Quickly Imbri moved her hind end out of the way so that she barely missed the teeth of the foal. "Now listen here, er, Carnivore." She said sternly. She wasn't really sure what the hell this foal was doing but he needed to stop. "If you're playing some sort of game it isn't very funny. If you would prefer I could just leave you here to the coyotes. Good luck fending them off on your own."
The mare watched Carnivore carefully, watching for any next move he might try to make. She didn't really want to leave him out her on his own, but if he was going to continue to try and fight her like this then she might not have any choice in the matter.

Sneering as the mare moved just in time to avoid his bite Carnivore's ears pinned back in anger. Oh so she was not going to allow him an easy kill. Very well, he did enjoy a challenge after all. What hunter didn't really? He moved so that he was in front of her again. "Game? This is no game." He told her with a shake of his head. "You are my prey and I am the predator!"
He let out a laugh that dripped with madness. Leave him to the coyotes? Did she not understand at all? They were like him, they hunted for their food, stalking their prey until their victim fell. "Leave me to the coyotes?" He said with a tip of his head. "They are my brethren! They respect me! I am one of them!" Stamping his foot his raised himself to his full height, which wasn't much compared to her, but that meant nothing to him. "I am Carnivore, eater of meat, killer of things. Those who do not bow before me, shall become my next meal!"

Imbri just stared at the foal quite shocked. Come to think of it she was quite glad she would never have foals with Thanos. Especially if they were bound to end up like this one. The stallion had definitely judged Carnivore too quickly. Actually come to think of it perhaps that was good. Maybe this colt would go back to him full grown and teach him a thing or too. He could definitely use it.
Turning her thoughts back to the situation at hand, Imbri was a little torn. Should she stay with the foal or should she leave? Honestly he was getting increasingly bothersome and just plain weird. Then again he was completely alone in this world and, even though the coyotes were his 'brethren', would likely be eaten fairly quickly.
"Fine then." She said. "Have it your way, but I'm not going to save you again when they do descend upon your unnatural little self."

"Unnatural? UNNATURAL!" He shrieked in anger. There was nothing natual about this life. He was the son of a half corpse, natural didn't exist to him. "You are unnatural!" His body began to shake with anger. Save him again? Ha! She did not save him, she had tried to kill him! She had clearly underestimated his power and now she was regretting sticking around to finish him off. Yes, that was it, that's why she suddenly showed that she didn't care. She was afraid of him. Letting out another crazy laugh he set his gaze upon her.
His mouth opened to say something but he snapped it shut. He head turned to one side and then the other. The other one was coming back. He couldn't see it yet, but he could feel it in his bones. No, he would not allow the other to stop him when he was so close to his moment of triumph. He took a step closer to the mare, though he legs were now suddenly unsteady. No, not now!
His world turned black once more, legs collapsed out form under him. His body fell limply to the ground. He could hear sounds, there was a nearby river, a bird sang nearby and there was another sound. It was close, very close. Oh god no not his father! Nameless' eyes snapped open and all he saw were a pair of black legs. Oh he was going to die now. Letting out a scared whinny he tried to get to his feet, to run but he was shaking so much with fear that they wouldn't work like he wanted them to.
He scrambled backwards as best he could, half standing, half sitting. A rock behind him knocked his balance off and he went tumbling back over himself. As he landed in some loose dirt he closed his eyes. "P-please father. D-dont hurt me." He pleaded, still believing that the one he had seen was his father.

Imbri snorted in disgust as she listened to Carnivore. He really thought that she was the unnatural one? Sure she had glowing eyes but as far as she was concerned her brain functioned normally. Far better then his. Plus her father hadn't come back from the dead. At least not that she could think of. Imbri was about to tell the foal this when he started shaking again. Oh what now? This foal had some serious issues, what the hell had Thanos done to him?
The mare opened her mouth to ask when he started pleading for her not to hurt him again. Wait, no that wasn't right. He called her father. "Carnivore what the hell is going on with you?" She snapped a little. She didn't mean to sound so harsh but the foal was definitely getting on her nerves. Especially with this little game he was playing.
