Evisule laughed, watching his indecision, and just gave him a hug. "Visit me any time you'd like, Jocoa," she said, smiling. "Now go on, you two, and have fun!"
Elbaima grinned and took the cattaur boy's hand. "Your turn to lead the way, Jo!"

Smirking, he gave Evisule's shoulder a squeeze after the hug. "Thanks. I'll try to not keep her out too late." He happily accepted Elbi's hand, giving the pink cervi a confident nod. He could do that. He gave Evi a last wave before leading Elbi off into the woods. "On to dinner." In the protection of the trees, he slipped his free hand over, trying to grab one of the biscuits from Elbi's grasp. "Appetizer?" He asked, a playful begging in his voice.

Elbaima pulled away at first, giggling as she teased him. "Well... okay," she said, pulling back one corner of the cloth and passing him a biscuit. After she took one out for herself she tied the corners of the cloth together. Munching on the tasty food, she asked between bites, "So... how long 'till we get there?"

Chewing happily, holding back a delighted groan, he tilted his head, sniffed the air and shook his head as he swallowed. "It won't be too much longer. Like your aunt said, it's not very far from your place." Soon enough, the woods thinned and the town came into view. Evening was settling in and most of the day laborers were getting ready to relax or go home. "Let's see." Subtly, his free hand reached to weigh the coins in his pouch, smiling slightly. He could probably take her somewhere nice it seemed. "Have you been to that diner with that huge fireplace yet? Opened a couple summers ago. I heard it's really good."

Elbi laughed. "Nope, I haven't... but then, I haven't really been to any food places since dad normally hunts for us and then Evi cooks... though sometimes we might buy snacks from the vendors as a treat." She shrugged. "But I guess that won't mean anything soon, 'cause I'm gonna go to a diner with my boyfriend!" Grinning, she clung to Jocoa's arm.

Cheeks turning pink, a loud purr unwittingly bursts from his chest as he leaned down to kiss Elbi's cheek. "Darn right you are." He said with a dizzy-in-love grin. Reaching the town, they headed for the center where a large building occupied a large plot. The building itself was new and stilll looked it, with a rug to wipe paws and hooves onto. He held the large door open for his dinner date. "Wherever you'd like to sit." He said when one of the servers nodded to them. The spacious floor sported many large tables on the open space with smaller tables lining the walls. The afore-mentioned fireplace was as tall as Elbi and nearly as wide as she was long, framed by shining stones and a pine covered mantle.

Elbaima's eyes widened at the scene - much grander than she was used to. Tugging lightly on his arm, she asked in a hushed voice, "Can we sit near the fireplace? It's so... large! And pretty! But I guess it has to be big to warm the whole room!" She looked around in awe.

Jocoa was thoroughly pleased that Elbi was enjoying the sight. He just hoped the food tasted as good as the building looked. A good quarter of the tables had patrons, so it couldn't be too bad. "We can sit wherever you like." He said with a chuckle, leading her to one of the tables close to the fireplace. "So, what kind of food are you in the mood for?" He picked up one of the menus that sat on the edge of the table, quickly glancing through as he spoke. "It looks like they have a bit of everything here."

"Oooh, anything!" she replied excitedly, following his lead and sitting at the table. "You decide for me, Jo!" she said, still looking over her surroundings. What a story she'd have to tell her mother, aunt, and sister when she got back! And her father... maybe she'd tell him... if he was in a good mood.

Laughing softly, Jocoa took careful consideration of what he thought Elbaima might like. Maybe...? Or...? What about...? This perhaps...? He was so focused on the menu that he almost didn't notice the server approach the table. Finally, he lifted the menu to the server, glance playfully at Elbi, and secretively pointed out what he was ordering so that she wouldn't find out what it was until it arrived. He hoped he had chosen properly... After a moment of prayer, he smiled over at Elbi. "I'm glad you could come along tonight."

Elbaima grinned, excited that her food was going be a surprise. "I'm glad you invited me," she said, putting her hand on his. The light from the fieplace flickered across their faces, and Elbi sighed happily as she watched Jocoa's handsome features.

Feeling a cozy warmth spread within his chest as he watched Elbi watching him, he started thinking, remembering what he had been headed to town for anyway. Perhaps... he should be thinking about a home that would fit more than himself? "So... Random question here. Hypothetically, if you were to move away from you parent's home, what would your dream house be like?"

Elbi blinked at the sudden question, pondering it. "Hmm... probably not much different from now. A small house, with the basics... it has to be in a nice place, though. Ideally, a nice clearing in the forest... oooh, or maybe near the beach! That might be nice. I haven't been to the beach very often but it's always pretty there... what about you?"

Listening carefully, his ears perked when she mentioned living near a beach. He hadn't even thought of that! "Me? Oh, actually, I was going to say a fair sized clearing not too far from the marketplace, but I like the sound of the beach better." He smiled hopefully as the server returned, trying to not be too obvious watching for Elbi's reaction. Her plate bore a leafy green salad covered by nuts, dried berries, and a grilled salmon filet. His own plate was similar, but it had hare steak instead of fish. The server said to enjoy, and scurried off. Meanwhile, Jo's hands clutched his napkin nervously beneath the table, as though he thought this decision would make or break the day.

Elbaima gasped in delight as the food was served. "It looks so tasty!" she exclaimed, bursting into a grin. She picked up her fork, then paused to see if Jocoa was going to eat his first.
