"I suppose you are right," she admitted in the same tone of voice that a Creationist might admit that maybe it was a bit irrational for God to have hidden giant lizard bones everywhere like a scavenger hunt. She looked over at him and bit her lip.
"It's not a mess. I don't know, I just expected my first date to be kind of different." Not with Lind. With, she didn't know, some tall, suave, intellectual who had four degrees and a wit as sharp as a rapier. Were her expectations too high? Probably. She hadn't expected to go out with a waiter, though. Guinevere was polite, but she was too snobby for her own good sometimes.
"Anyway, let's just start this over. Truce?" She held out a hand in his direction and offered him a hesitant grin. "If we argue any longer, we're going to miss the play."
This might not have been terrible for Lind, considering it was the Shakespearean equivalent of a rom-com.

Oho, a first! Never thought that he would ever hear her admit that he was right. And hey. Ow. That was uncalled for. Just because he was a waiter doesn't mean that he's a complete waste of a person. Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Plus, he is tall. So that's...what, 20, 25% of her criteria?
And if it made her feel any better, he has another job that she can classify his as. Not...that a mechanic would be any more highly regarded, but still.
"Truce," The hand was shaken with a grin of his own.
Hey. Whoever said he didn't like Shakespeare? Or rom-coms for that matter?
