She knew, she just knew how to get under his skin. Only a few other mares have tried, not with this but other things, but she did, and with so little effort. It confused him as to how this was happening, but he didn't necessarily mind it. Upon him looking at her square in the eye, his own glittering dangerously he felt something stir in his mind.
Something sinister
Something powerful
And for some strange reason he didn't want to deny her or the creature stirring in his consciousness. He thought back to his herd, how they were so peaceful, loving creatures, and suddenly he thought it as pathetic and weak. This mare, this Nymphalidae, made him want to turn against everything he grew up with. And he reveled in it.
Not looking away from her he bowed his head to sniff at the bloody carcass and with one movement of he sunk his fangs deep into the carcass and ripped out a part of the throat. The blood poured down his throat and into his stomach. And for the first time, it felt good to eat flesh out of the full moon. His body didn't fight it. Not that he wanted it to.
He brought his head back up to stand at full height and watched her, eyes still glittering dangerously. Blood looked good on her, he definitely gave her that. It suited her. She was a hunter...as was he. A creature of the night. A silent demon.

Despite how much her words got to Hallows Bane, Nymphalidae had no idea that she was effecting him so easily. This was the first night they had met, and for all that she knew, perhaps this stallion was just easily swayed. But what did it matter to her? The important thing was that he gave in, and she licked her lips as she watched him take his first bite, just imagining how it must taste. It was like this that she imagined this is what the stallion truly was -- not some weak creature that merely ate meat once every full moon. Not a grass eater, not a unicorn -- perhaps not even kalona, but in this moment all Nymphalidae could see that he, at least, possessed the spirit of one. The heart of one.
Just like her.
She smiled at him as he raised his head, and the way his eyes gazed at her made her heart flutter, now seeing this stallion at his true potential. Oh -- but still she approached, unafraid, to feast on her share of their kill. She pawed a hoof over the side of the carcass and lowered her head, using her horn to rip open the side of the deer before she plunged her muzzle inside, pulling away warm meat as wet blood dripped from her jaw. For a brief moment, she let her eyes flutter closed as she enjoyed the sweet taste of blood on her tongue, and when she opened them again she was looking up at Hallows Bane.

She looked perfect like that, happy with bloodlust. But unfortunately Hallow knew this night was coming to an end. He could already tell the sun was coming up on the horizon nearby. It was then his herd would be awake and if he wasn't there, they'd begin to wonder.
Regaining some form of control he gazed intently at her, "It would be wise if after we finish head to a stream to clean up. If my herd finds me gone they will get suspicious. And right now I cannot afford that."
With a swish of his tail he took one more bite. Allowing himself to savor it's taste. Yes, he was very confused as to why his body allowed this, allowed him to break his rules. But for now it was not a time to question. It was a time for action.

Nymphalidae narrowed her eyes. His herd? What were they -- kalona or unicorn? Or, maybe, even more 'demons,' as he called himself? But if he wanted to clean up before he returned, perhaps he was hiding all of this from them... and she wasn't ready to leave, not yet. Her ears pressed back against her head in annoyance, and she took several more bites of the deer before she even dignified Hallows Bane with a response.
"... if that's what you want to do," she agreed, but as she began to pass Hallows Bane to head toward the stream, she paused to lean her head forward in a bold move to lick his muzzle, tasting blood and fur. "No sense in wasting it," she grinned, nickering as she then moved past him, glancing back to see if he was going to follow her -- and then she began to take off for the steam in a gallop. It was a slow gallop, and if she had truly wanted to leave the stallion behind, she could have run faster -- but she didn't. He was strong. He was a hunter. Why would she want to lose sight of this one? Chase me.

Even though Hallows didn't know what she was thinking, she got it spot on. His herd was made of adopted mares, stallion, and foals. Most of Ceyenei and Regulars. They were nothing special. But they were strict. He wanted to continue to meet with pink hair mare and if that was to happen he had to keep his herd happy. If they found out the truth about him they'd kick him out and he'd lose territory to see Nymphalidae with.
And follow he did, he didn't mind her licking the blood of his muzzle. He actually was rather suprised she even did. Most wouldn't dare for the fear of his horns. But Nymphalidae wasn't your average mare. She had the looks of a unicorn and flutter but the mind of a kalona, a hunter. It pleased him so.
He kicked up his hooves and took up, catching up to her rather quickly. For the first time in long time, he felt alive again.

Nymphalidae kept running once they reached the stream, splashing through the water and watching as it ran red with the blood that had been on her hooves. She lowered her head to drink the water, feeling the cool, refreshing liquid travel down her throat, but she didn't bother trying to clean herself up. She had no one to hide her true instincts from. Once she was satisfied, she lifted her head to watch Bane, remaining silent for several long seconds before she stepped close to him again.
"We should hunt together again. Not now, but soon -- after you have assured your herd that you have not left them." She didn't want him to return to his herd. Did he have more fun with them than he had with her on this night? Had she not shown him that he was free to hunt to his heart's desire? Or did that mean nothing to him? Possessive feelings welled up within her; what if he returned to his herd and renounced all that he had done? No -- she did not want him to change. She wanted to corrupt him, to turn him into a pure hunter. As he is meant to be. "The sun has not yet risen completely."

"We will hunt again together Nymphalidae. That I promise you. The only reason I go back at this sunrise is keep this territory under my control," he assured her," As long as I am in control we will have free reign here. As long as I'm this herd's protector you may take whatever you wish. All that I ask is that my herd does not find out your existance, at least not yet. The timing isn't right and they haven't seen any other breed besides myself before. I do not wish to force you under a facade when you could be running around as you please doing whatever you want. Unless you really wish to."
He took another drink of water and washed off some of his coat. The blood wasn't too bad. He just couldn't afford his herd smelling the blood on him. If they found that carcass they would, he hoped, think it was a lion or something else. Not him.
"You've shown me something tonight Nymphalidae. Something I haven't felt since my foalhood. I would hate to lose that so quickly as it was found."

So many promises. Did he truly control all this territory? Would he really allow her to have free reign and take whatever she desired from his lands? No constrictions or restraints, as long as she stayed out of his herd's sight. Well, she could do that -- and she would look forward to their next hunt, and the hunt after that, and the hunt after that... the connections she did not think she had with this stallion had shown themselves during their hunt together. They had far more in common than she had initially realized.
"You don't have to lose anything," she promised in return -- but at what price? Nymphalidae would take from him until he had nothing left to give, and she would keep tempting him so he was too blind to see what she was doing. At least, that was her plan. She lowered her head to wash the blood from her muzzle at last, only to lift her head again and give Hallows a gentle n** on his shoulder. "A strong stallion such as yourself would not lose the attention of a mare so quickly. But you should not keep your herd waiting. We will meet again -- tonight, as soon as the moon begins to rise... and then we will see where the night takes us."

Hallows nodded and stepped out of the stream, "same to you Nymphalidae. I shall see you this evening where I first called you out. Good night."
With a small half bow of his head Hallow quickly turn tail and galloped quickly into the trees. He could hear the stirrings of some of the mare's already.
'Stay out of sight Nymphalidae. For your sake and mine.'
