Guedes snorted, practically diving into the water to get to him. Damned be the gods if she could swim or not.

"No, you did more than compliment! You lashed out and called them appalling on a mare such as myself!" She gasped out, working to keep her head above the water to get to him.

"Please...Please go back to land," he turned to face her as she struggled in the water. "I would hate to see such a lovely mare drown out there," He took a few steps towards her, he would force her out of the water if he had to.

"Lash out?" he looked confused, this mare was apparently a little mental. "I've done no such thing," he stated to her. "Now please, out of the water, Miss."

"I'm fine. I...I'll be fine." She moved closer to him, managing to get up enough to rest her head just on his back and relax for a moment. "Y-yes...yes you did. You suddenly changed. Yelled and insulted me." She told him, her eyes watching the two skulls attached to his mane click together.

His body suddenly stiffened under her touch, he had never been touched by a mare, other than his mother and sister. He wasn't quite sure what to do, his ears flickered as she spoke.

"I...I do not recall, Miss." he didn't understand what she was telling him. He had never just lashed out at anyone, he tried to be as polite as he could, but it just never seemed to be enough. "Perhaps you just misunderstood what I said?" he tried to think this logically through his 'good' mind. "It wouldn't make sense for me to yell at you, You've done nothing to me."

"Well it made no sense for you...to lash out at me. I've done nothing to warrant it from you either. It's...not like I threatened you." She stated, pulling away after another moment and trying to get herself back out of the deepest part of the water.

"I don't know how you can't know." She snorted, pushing her nose up against his pointedly. "It's -your- mind and thoughts after all."

"You have not, that's why I believe you must have mistaken what I said...?" he implied again. Others had a habit of misunderstanding him often it seemed.

He relaxed just a bit as she pulled away, whew, he wasn't sure how to handle that situation. His eyes crossed as he tried to focus on her as she nosed him.

Suddenly he snapped his head backward, "What are you doing to wretched creature? You have no business in my swamp, I ought to drag you out and drown you myself, stupid mare!" his tail whipped quickly, covering her in the dark water of the marsh.

Ahriman blinked, the mare was soaked. Had she stumbled and gone under without him noticing? Surely not, he would have tried to catch her. "Are you okay?" he moved to try to support her.

She pulled back once more at his new outburst. Something was definitely wrong and she didn't like it. "Your swamp?! I thought I told you that I lived here and had every right that you did!" She scowled, getting ready to bite at him when she was suddenly splashed with the filthy water.

Guedes fell silent and stared at him in shock. "Don't touch me...." she muttered, stepping back away from him and stumbling over her own feet. "Stay back...you're crazy. Nothing I have can even begin to help that..."

He stopped as he was instructed, again, the mare was acting as though he had attacked her when all he did was offer her help if she had slipped into the water.

"I...I didn't say..." he shook his head and let out a sigh. This happened with everyone. He didn't even try to appologize, it would be of no use, just as it had not been with any other soquili he had tried to have a conversation with. This is exactly why he prefered to live alone.

Crazy...he had been called that more than once, though he wasn't sure why. He was perfectly normal....wasn't he?

Guedes shook herself off the best she could, glaring at him the entire time. She knew something was wrong in that head of his, but whatever it was she wasn't sure she wanted to be any part of it. Especially not if it meant having a stallion that constantly and violently lashed out at her.

"I don't know what's wrong with you...but you're not right." She muttered, braving enough to get close to him again. She had no idea why, even through all that the mare still felt drawn to him somehow.

Ahri just stood there for a moment, if this mare was telling the truth...and he really was lashing out at her, there could only be one explination that the could think of.

"Father..."

He mumbled. His father had the misfortune of being a little...Mental. He wondered if it was possible that he had picked up the genes that made him such. He looked over to the mare, "You... You should go," he said in a rather hurried tone. He didn't want to have the chance to lash out at her again.

She fell silent for a moment, only moving closer in an attempt to hear him. "What did you say...? I heard you mutter something about...'father'?" She asked, perking her ears curiously toward him. "Tell me...what about him? I don't want to leave if it will explain something."

She smiled a bit, trying to seem genuinely curious on the subject in hopes of getting more information about him.

He cast a disappointed glance at the mare, he didn't want to believe that he could have inherited such a genetic nightmare.

"My father, he's...he's nuts." he said in a low tone of voice, "He does and says things without thinking, without remembering, without concern for others. He's very....random."

He looked up to the mare with a appologetic look to his eye. "Please forgive me if I've said anything offensive. I truely did not mean it."

She shook her head at him, wanting to find it hard to believe and failing.

"Your father, mmn? ...sounds like a wonderful stallion to get mixed up with." She murmured and smirked a bit to herself. "Or to test a few small charms on..." she finished. Guedes gently pressed her nose up against his again, looking up at his eyes curiously for a moment.

"Is that why you live here then? Alone? Granted in my area...but still within the marshes."

He nodded slightly without saying a word for a moment.

"I've been unable to integrate into society with others..." she shrugged then looked down at the dirty water, "This has become my home, no one here gets offended," he looked up at the mare, "Well, at least not before today."

His tail moved slowly back and forth behind him. Perhaps...perhaps she was right and he was crazy, just like his father. Perhaps that is why he had never been able to make friends, only enemies...

The mare nodded slightly, looking down to watch their reflections in the water.

"I choose not to become a part of society. They wouldn't accept me and I don't expect them to." She stated, refusing to look up at him again and instead turning her attention away to look into the overgrowth.
