Maybe when you do that you can say something along the lines of,
"Vampires are technically demons, and this salt ring shall you protect you from them!"
And then, like, grab their shoulders and say, "Good luck." and run away.

Wow, this is great. Although truth be told I'd be a little freaked out if someone was pouring salt around me and I had no idea what it was for. I'd be like AHHH!! *Steps outside the circle*
I wonder if those people actually said anything while pouring the salt.
