Muriel smile shyly and starts walking past the apple tree and onto a path that the deer used. She had stumbled onto it by accident while wandering absently one day. She twitches her bob tail and looks at Cael. "I've never seen a two legger. I mean, I've heard them talking before, I think, but I've never gotten close enough to see one. I was always afraid they'd catch me. So I stayed hidden."
She looked at him and tilted her head a little. "So, what are they like? Two leggers, I mean? And what was it like to be raised by them?"
She was curious. It was a fault of sorts. But there weren't many friends in her life that stayed. All the animals migrated. Or hibernated. They all left for some reason or another. So she figured it was something to do with her. Maybe they didn't like her? She didn't know any better.
Shaking the negative thoughts away, she stepped over a small stream and continued along the path, and listened for Cael to answer her.

Wandering along beside her, listening as she speaks. Thinking before answering, it would be hard to explain what two leggers in general were like, as he had really known only the old woman that raised him. Others had come to their home, most seeking help or advice from the old woman. Sighing having found it sad that others had only come when they needed help, but she had helped them all regardless.
"Well I can only really speak for the one that raised me, I never knew any of the others... The one who rased me was very caring, my first memory was of being warm and laying on something soft. I never knew what hunger was... When I was older she would let me roam in the trees by the small hut she lived in, she would give me food from the little garden she kept. She taught me allot, though she never seemd to understand what I said. When she didn't wake up one day... I waited with her till other two leggers came. After that I started wandering..."
He doubted that anything he had said really answerd her question, but he didn't know how to answer it any better.

Muriel listened intently to Cael, then looked at him when he was done talking. "So, she was the only two legger you knew? But she loved you, huh?." Looking down the deer path, she was watching for signs that they were getting nearer to the waterfall.
She looked back at Cael. "I don't think it matters who the person is, if they love you, that makes them family, right?" She'd been thinking about that. She was adopted, after all. Taken in by a family that had extra love to share.
Suddenly, she stopped short. Tilting her head to one side, her ears forward, she listened carefully for a moment. Then, with a laugh, she looked at Cael.
"The waterfall is just ahead!" Giddy, she tossed her head and pranced in place and giggled. She looked at Cael and grinned. It was like she was a filly again.
But then she loved to swim.
Tossing her head again, she said "It's straight up ahead. Race you there!" With that said, she leapt forward, her laughter echoing on the wind.

Stopping as she does, looking a little surprised as she giggles and bounces like a little filly. Silently agreeing with her views on family, the old twolegger woman had been a mother to him in every way apart from one. But then his own parents had left him so he had never considered biology as anything really that made a family.
Following along behind her at a trot, thinking that it was too cold for swimming, this leaving him with a lack of enthusiasm to jump on in. But he would be happy to find a sunny spot and watch. He was looking forward to the summer and having warm sunshine to dry off in, and warmer water to play in.
Catching up with her as she runs along, glad that she was so excited. Though he was enjoying the tour so far.

Muriel smirked a little, for she had a little secret. The pool was fed by the waterfall, yes, but it was also fed by an underwater spring. A hot water spring.
She slowed down to a trot, her ears up. She looked at Cael and grinned. "Sorry if I seem really silly sometimes. I don't get that happy often, but when I do...." She blushed, but kept smiling.
"This is the pool I was talking about. And what most don't realize is that it's not a cold water pool." Twitching her bob tail, she walked over to the waters edge and started slowly going in. She looked back at Cael.
"There's a hot water spring that feeds into this pool, as well as the river water from the waterfall." She shakes her head, spraying water everywhere. "Are you sure you don't want to join me? It's warm, I promise!"
Just as she said that, the a cloud moved from in front of the sun and a rainbow formed over the waterfall. As the sun shined on the surface of the pool, Muriel smiled happily and closed her eyes, taking in the sun's warmth.

Cael shakes his head, sticking to the bank of the water, shaking his head. He wasn't about to jump in for a variety of reasons. Firstly he couldn't actually swim, his twolegger had been to old to teach him, aside from that she had been missing the extra pair of legs. The other thing that kept him out the water was the thought of going from being warm in the water, to out in the cold air while being soaking wet. It was chilly already.
Smiling at her and shaking his head again. "No thank you, I'm fine here, you enjoy your swim." Seeing her enjoying the sun. Nosing around on the bank while she enjoys the water, not roaming far fro mthe water or her.
