Verse cowered down as a large shadow suddenly fell over him and Aleu was snatch up before she had a chance to do much damage, glancing up he took in the large green wolf. This was a pack member he didn't know - but at least he supposed it hadn't been Merril that had found him scrapping with the alpha's daughter. For a few moments words failed him but with a look toward Aleu he found his voice again.
"I came over to say hi, I'm new in town you see, But everything went awry, and this pup she attacked me!"

Aleu had been so close to hitting the mark when she was suddenly lifted into the air. Struggling against the grip for a first few seconds until she realized that Corvus wasn't about to let go. "Put me down Corvus!" She snapped at the wolf. How dare he interfere. Eyes narrowed as she listened to Verse's version of what had happened. "That's not what happened at all! He insulted singing! So I taught him a lesson!"
Corvus listened to both sides of the story. Though there wasn't much to go on in either argument. Slowly he took a step back and set Aleu down, but was sure to put one leg in front of her to keep her from running at the other pup. See this was why he didn't like pups in the first place. Everything just ended up getting complicated while they were around. "Don't move." He told Aleu before turning his attention to the male pup.
"Now then. It doesn't matter who started the fight, it's done with." Gods he didn't like being the referee in pup fights, any fight in that matter. "So you are new. What is your name little one? I am Corvus."

Verse kept a wary eye on Aleu as Corvus put her down - but he was smart enough to refrain from egging her on any further in the presence of an adult and anyways this Corvus fellow seemed to be keeping the irrate little female aay from him - which was just fine with Verse.
Standing again Verse tipped his head slightly at the green wolf - his pelt was a peculiar color why he almost looked like a gemstone with his varying shades of green.
"I'm pleased to meet you Corvus, With your hide of shiny green They call me Verse And I come from a place unseen"
Well that wasn't his best rhyme but he couldn't come up with something to go with 'green' off the top of his head that made any sense so he supposed it would have to do.

Sitting behind Corvus' leg Aleu stuck her tongue out at Verse as he said another little poem. She hoped Corvus would punish him for beating up the Alpha's daughter, but it wasn't looking like that was gonna happen. What a disappointment. No worries, she though, she would have another opportunity to teach this pup manners in the future. And she would make sure that Corvus wouldn't stop her. But for now she would let him break up the fight and play the good wolf.
"Verse huh?" Corvus said after the pup's little speech. "You are the one Merrill is looking after then?" He had heard about Merrill finding a lost pup and taking him in but had yet to run into that pup. He knew the Alpha's pups well so he could only assume that he was the lost pup. Corvus glanced down at Aleu just in time to see her stick her tongue out at Verse. "I saw that Aleu. What would your mother say if I told her I caught you fighting with Verse?"

Verse couldn't help but give a somewhat smug look to Aleu when she got caught sticking her tongue out at him, served her right as far as he was concerned. Recalling that Corvus was still speaking with him Verse gave him a pleased look and stood somewhat prouder. "Yes Merrill has taken me in". Merrill was the beta and being the beta's ward was a pretty god position in Verse's mind, although he was waving some trouble trying to figure out why Merrill had warned him not to spend to much time with Corvus. The big green male seemed pretty decent to him.

Glancing between the pups Corvus let out a silent sigh. "Best be running on back to her den then Verse. Don't want to get in trouble now do we?" As much as Corvus would like to see the pups punished for their fighting he knew that being punished was no fun, so he would act like nothing happened this time. However if he caught them fighting again he would not be so forgiving. Pups, he thought with a huff, this is exactly why he didn't like them. Well at least one of the reasons.
"Yeah Verse, why don't you run along back to Merrill." Aleu added in. Okay, so she was just trying to get under the pups skin again for that smug look. But that was about all she would do while Corvus was here. The large green wolf may have stopped them this time, but next time, oh next time he wouldn't. Of course she would avoid this annoying little pup at all costs, he was so irritating.

Verse huffed slightly as Corvus told him to head home, nasty little pup had ruined his chance to get out and explore and now Corvus was reminding him of getting into trouble. "No sir" He told the older green wolf before turning around and heading back to Merrill den casting a frown at Aleu over his shoulder.

As Verse left Aleu turned and began to creep away from Corvus. She was a bit worried he would yell at her or punish her. Oh course at the same time she refused to apologize for her actions. To her she had done the right thing, Verse had insulted music and therefore insulted her. It was only fair to retaliate against that. "I'll be going home now too." She told the large green male in a sad voice. The voice was fake but she hoped it was enough to let her just go.
Corvus watched as Verse began to leave and then noticed Aleu sneaking away as well. Good, the sooner the two pups got some distance between them the sooner he could leave. "Yes, you best be going home too." He told Aleu in a stern voice. Gods he hated dealing with pups. He stood there for a good amount of time making sure neither pup returned to finish what had been started. After he was satisfied that they were on their way to their respectful homes, Corvus turned and left himself. He had duties to attend to and couldn't sit her all day waiting for a possible pup fight to start.
