His voice became a husky tember, which pleased Jaloo's ears and caused her to surpress a shiver. She couldn't be interested in Basil like that already, could she? No, he was a new friend. A very handsome new friend that seemed to counteract her childishness. And despite his own, he played in the mud with a kind of grace that he was obviously raised with. Or born naturall with. Jaloo couldn't say for sure; she knew little to nothing about him other than his name. Maybe that was what they should talk about now; themselves.
She didn't know if he was following close behind her or not because she refused to look. Looking back would mean she was interested in him. "So, Bas. Tell me a bit about yourself. Family, friends? Go on adventures? Have a life mate or children?" Her voice wasn't loud, but the wind would carry it to him.

Basil followed quietly along behind Jarloo, his mind peacefully blank. At her barrage of question, he ruffled her wings. "
Well let's see m'dear, I never really met my family, though I do know I have one. I have no kids or a lifemate as of yet. As for friends, I have a few though they are merely in passing. I tend to move around too often to stay close with many of the soq's I meet. "
Here Basil paused to ruffle his wings once more. "What about yourself Jarloo, do you have any family around?"

Family? She nodded a bit and grinned. "Two brothers, Scryer and London. My mom is Maui and dad is Starseeker, then I have Grandpa Oathkeeper." She chuckled a bit and stepped into the water of the river. Already the mud was washing off her legs, but he wouldn't be able to see the color until she got back to shore. Her plan was to just completely swim the mud out.
"Mom and Scryer have wings like yours. The rest of us don't." That being said, she moved deeper into the river, actually starting to swim now, kicking her strong legs when she couldn't walk along the bottom anymore.

Basil nodded to himself as she entered the river. Grinning, he was content to watch Jarloo for a few moments before entering the cool water himself. Flicking his tail, Basil followed after Jarloo into the deeper water.
As he swam Basil proceeded to let the silence that had grown, continue between them.

The silence was nice, yes, but why was she so nervous about swimming with him? Shaking her head, she went under the water to get the mud off her face again and then emerged again, ears flicking as she let the water cascade down her face. "Well see? While it's cold, it helps."
Within moments, the mare went back to the shore, shuddering because she was freezing cold and then sighed, shaking herself off. "We.. should probably get back. I mean.. I should. My two-legger could warm me up. I'm freezing!" She said with a little stutter, looking to the male still in the water. Basil was something else, that was for sure.
