First of all, sorry for my recent absence. I've been overly busy with work, and spent part of this week sick. gonk
But, I did make my way to Gamestop and downloaded Pichu into all three of my games. I didn't check all of their stats, but as far as I can tell, all three are identical.
I didn't pre-order HG or SS because I'm mostly broke, but I would like to note that even if you don't get to pre-order it, it's likely that you'll be able to find the Ho-oh and Lugia figurines later. Case in point: I stopped in Best Buy on my way out of the mall, and they still had several of the Giratina figures from the Platinum pre-order. They were selling them for $9.99...so you'd still come out better getting them free with the pre-order, but at least you know they'll be there if you can't. I'm not sure if Best Buy is doing the figure pre-orders or not, but I'm sure Gamestop will sell any leftovers, too.
Another reason I didn't pre-order: I live about 45 minutes away from the nearest GameStop. So if I pre-order, I'll have to make a special trip after work to get it (just like I did for Shiny Pichu). My only other option is to pre-order it online and have it delivered...but according to GameStop, they won't ship until March 14th...so if I go that route, it'll be days before I actually get the game. gonk So I guess I'll make my decision when I get my next paycheck!

Also, did anyone else feel like a big dork hanging around GameStop with their DS? xd I browsed around the store for a bit, but couldn't find anything I wanted that was cheap enough for me to afford. So I finally meandered around to the Pokemon sign and started my downloading. I felt bad for not buying anything, so that added to my embarrassment.
Plus, I had a little kid come walking up to me going "Did you just buy that? What are you playing? What are you doing? Can I try it?" gonk I showed him what I was doing, but I didn't dare let him near my game. Apparently he was trying to convince his parents to buy him a DS Lite. *LOL* They were looking at a used one and they were waiting for it to charge to make sure it worked, so he was killing time by wandering the store to see what they had. Hopefully he left with Pokemon. cool

hey absences are a-okay, everybody has a life outside the web
and yeah the 45-minute trip is a Haunter i know (lol)
but i too can comfirm the re-sale of excess figurine i saw those exact same figurine in my nearest b-buy
well...about the feeling awkward, thats to be expected, and in the case of the kid, just say you're downloading extras that help beef up your in-game abilities
heck if i go into a store to deliver a key to my friend and dont buy anything i feel weird so you're not alone Dkelpto
