"Disaster? Aww, it didn't seem like one to me..." He pouted, then laughed. "Haha! Well, I guess it goes to show that losing things isn't always a bad thing, in a way." Here he began to drift over towards the clothes, flicking through a rack before pulling out a shirt. This was studied before the price tag was looked at, whereupon the boy openly blanched and returned the item back.
"Haha, yep! I live not to far from there, and I picked my uniform up earlier. It's... pretty interesting, to say the least, being a t-shirt and shorts." He threw a glance outside, shivering dramatically. "Brr! You'd think they'd offer pants for this weather! Speaking of... Out of curiosity, do you go to Meadowview? What's it like? Are there any demon attacks that happen during the day or...?"
'Demon attacks' appeared to be the latest fad to describe what other areas heard about Destiny City, even if said stories went on to decry them as a publicity stunt to get tourists to visit the city.

"A blessing in disguise." She said plaintively, eyes darting appreciatively across some clothes designed for girls before turning her attention back to her.
"Oh no, I go to Crystal Academy." Eve informed him with a bright smile, although faltered a bit on the part where he had mentioned demon attacks. "I have heard about some attacks on Meadowview. The schools have been relatively unharmed by the monsters though." Luckily enough. Still, the youma targeted civilians, which was Not Good At All. They had even attacked in the mall itself; a little tidbit of information she was reluctant to share with Carter.
Sometimes, ignorance was bliss.

"Crystal? Nice, I have a sibling that wants to go there -- just for the horses, though." Carter grinned, then shrugged it off. The next bit of information, however... The boy tilted his head to one side and considered. The monsters that ran around: why wouldn't they attack a school? It'd be a giant publicity stunt, and if there really were "terrorists" running around then wouldn't a place with a lot of people be, well, worthwhile to crash? Hmm...
"Well," he began after a pause, "Thank you for your help, Eve. Perhaps we could hook up again some other time? Not for shopping or a date or anything like that, mind you. Er, I mean," he could feel the blush starting to darken his face, "Just to hang out?"

Horses reminded her of Rea for a moment and made the girl smile. "Tell her to work hard then!" Or if Carter's family was rich, his sister would probably find it easy to get in. Still, having good grades did count, since Crystal liked being regarded as a polished school and all.
"I'd like that." She told him warmly, with a pat on his back. "Hey, who said people of opposite genders can't have platonic relationships?" Then, there was a pause and she changed the topic altogether to make him feel less comfortable. "I hope you settle in well in Meadowview!"

Carter laughed and nodded. "I will!" He honestly hoped that the day wouldn't come soon. As annoying as his little sister could be, he was guilty of still finding it fun to play 'horse herd' with her and her horde of my little ponies. Even if it lately turned into 'horse herd on skates,' for all its silliness it was harmless fun.
"Plat- ah! I read ya," he nodded, giving her a thumbs-up. "Thanks! Catch you later then!"
The boy turned and wandered over to the men's section, still completely clueless as to what the heck "platonic" meant. It was a question he would put to Google later, if he could remember it. But for now, he was content with shifting through the racks of clothes.
