Something in Uranophane seemed to be enjoying the struggle, as she continued trying to yank herself backwards and try to knock the senshi off balance. Her lips were drawn back and jaw set in a definite grimace, but between her exertion strings of try, voiceless laughter hissed out through her teeth. "So you have a thick constitution to go with that thick head of yours, don't you, princess?" she was saying, her voice turned raspy and harsh from the effort. "I swear, fighting against you is like trying to move a cow under heavy painkillers--"

Then came the hand, arcing straight for her face, making contact with a punctuated whap! against the Negaverser's sharp cheekbone. She could be heard sucking a breath in as the harsh sting from the hit rushed across her face, ending in a tingling at the other side of her face where a lopsided smirk had appeared over the course of her head getting knocked to the side from the impact.

Uranophane was definitely at a disadvantage, with both of her hands tied and no way to access the meager excuses for weapons she was allowed as a lieutenant. But, her legs were still free, and those heels on her boots always ready to be put to use. One of those boots kicked their way forward and towards Iris's shin.

If she hadn't already gone in for the hit, Sailor Iris would have probably gone in for another one after the "princess" comment. Having a gay element like a rainbow didn't automatically make her a frilly little princess. There was no rule saying that a princess had to be frilly, but in the Sailor Scout's mind, that was automatically the label when you added "princess" to someone's name. People had argued with her that Xena was anything but frilly, but you could never sway Sailor Iris' opinion in such an easy fashion.

The hit to the Negaverser's face did seem to stroke the scout's ego a bit, and she even dared to comment "I'll take that as a compliment." There was no smile on her face anymore though. It had been wiped away from the simple "princess" comment. It was so easy to mess with Sailor Iris, it was somewhat sad.

A bit distracted from her very minor victory, she didn't even notice the slight shift in weight from the Negaverser. It was something she should have noticed, but ego had a way of blinding an experienced fighter of the simplest tricks.

It was only when she felt a pretty decent pain in her leg that she noticed something had happened. Out of surprise more than anything else, though it could have easily been mistaken as an exclamation of pain, she shouted out "Ho'sh*t!" It was that very same surprise that caused the rainbow wrapped around the opponent's arm to disappear. Another mental Ho'sh*t seemed to echo in her mind as she attempted to recover from this mistake, quickly aiming to grab the murky haired female by the arm with her newly freed up right hand.

If there was one thing evident to the Sailor Scout by this point, it was the fact that this Negaverse agent could kick.

It'd been almost fun, watching Uranophane more or less get her a** handed to her. She was quick, she was observant--but clearly the drawling senshi had the advantage of power and experience. He could see it in the way she moved, and her reckless fighting style had more or less crushed the otherwise calculating Lieutenant. It was probably the only reason he bothered to step in; the noise had attracted him, and he'd been observing from the shadows for some time.

No longer.

The captain leapt and landed behind Uranophane, lingering long enough to offer a semblance of a fleeting grin for the blonde senshi before he rammed his shoulder hard into... the other Negaverse agent?

Yes, it seemed so. He was quite literally using her as a shield of sorts, seeing if his and Uranophane's combined weight couldn't topple the other girl. Any thought that he might be damaging the lieutenant was dismissed and ignored; she'd suck it up.

They were caught in another variation of the same deadlock. They were grappling, had been grappling for what felt like ages, and Uranophane was somewhat aware that Iris's brute strength was going to win her over eventually. This was extremely irritating. She had been sure that she should be able to take on a senshi one-on-one, but she just had to go and test out her boundaries on one with all the responsiveness of a city dumpster. All she really had going for her was that this one was insecure in her masculinity.

This called for a change of tactics.

Said change came in the form of something suddenly ramming into her back. The wind was knocked out of her, but not before she was sent hurtling towards the senshi, hair and arms still in a tangled mess.

Once again, life didn't go in slow motion for Sailor Iris. She had managed to grip onto the nameless agent's arm when she caught a blur of red behind this mannish-chick. By the time she realized that the dude-chick was being shoved into her, it was a bit too late to really react.

That, and there wasn't much she could do. If it had solely been the one lieutenant, she could have stood her ground. However, the combined weight was enough to push her forcibly against her will. One of her legs wobbled and cringed from the sheer quickness of the mess, but her other leg remained strong, barely keeping her from toppling to the ground.

It was obvious that this had suddenly turned into a 2-against-1 situation, and it was also just as obvious she was now at the disadvantage. She attempted to stretch her neck to see the secondary whatever it was behind Miss Man, but Miss Man still had a pretty good hold of her hair. She could feel the strain against her neck muscles, but she wanted to see what had interrupted the skirmish.

There were green eyes and red hair of what seemed to be a guy. However, she had been fooled before with the obvious girl smooshed up against her body. "This yer girlfriend or somethin'?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly with an intrigued laughter.

He could see her buckle, and was silently impressed that she was somehow holding her ground, using physics and force to keep them both propped up against her. Was it dumb luck? Or was it fighter's instinct? Either way, he would close the distance and press himself against Uphane's bony back, slowly adding more weight to see what this senshi would do.

"Why yes." Obsidian mused aloud with a slight grin, in too good a mood to be irritated. "See you've been beating up on my honey pie a lil' bit. Figure I can return the favor now, and then we can have a romantic evening by the candlelight. You know, with your starseed and all."

He shoved Uranophane again, and stepped back, lifting his hand into the air and yanking the impossible large broad sword down. It slammed into the concrete and threatened to crack it, but he seemed to be at ease. A slow weapon, for sure, but powerful. "So? What's your name, Miss Senshi? You got a clever battle cry for me too?"

He was taking his time with this, that lazy grin still settled on his face as he looked the girl up and down. Uphane was ignored for now, though he was aware of her presence. Two against one... He was normally a solo player, but this could be fun.

Uranophane's hand was still one with Iris's hair when she was shoved back out of the way, but the senshi's hair was also long, so fortunately no loss of footing was had at the sudden movement. Obsidian's appearance was a bit of a bemused relief -- on the flip side, the amusement did little to tamper down her irritation. She was still locked in combat with a senshi she was sure must have been a dump truck elaborately disguised as one.

Enough was enough. And, Obsidian's jab had put her right within strike range of Iris's weakened, exposed leg. There was still a mess of hair wrapped around her glove.

She yanked. And kicked -- the heel of her boot lashed out towards the girl's kneecap, while at the same time she whipped around her arm and pulled the hair with all the weight she could throw into it while still standing on one leg. Result: a faceplant into the concrete, and the unpleasant sting of a handful of hair being yanked free from the side of her head. Well, not unpleasant for Uranophane. Iris would see a glinting grin of self-satisfaction in the brief instant before her head hit the ground.

"This senshi is like a damned cockroach, Captain. Maybe she could demonstrate her battle cry to the General-King when we bring him her head."

The gradual increase in weight was definitely enough to cause Sailor Iris' leg to bend down submissively. She might have come across as a tank, but the Sailor Scout was still technically human. Yet, even under the pressure, there was something that seemed a bit off.

There was still a determined smile on her face. When her lips parted, a chuckle escaped before she pointed out her opinion. "Yer tastes in chicks are a little gay, dude!" This was a case of being technically heterosexual, if this truly was his girlfriend. Borderline gay. She was in no position to joke, and here she was, still running at the mouth.

Her leg had already crumpled under the pressure, but then all at once, she and Miss Man were pushed, with an added kick to her knee and tug at her head. Talk about a rush. Though she felt several sudden pangs of pain in her leg and her head (hello bald spot), her smile somehow remained. It was almost as if she wore it as a mask for the discomfort she only vaguely acknowledged with a few grunts. If it wasn't for the quick thinking on her own part and extending her wrench carrying arm out, she would have hit the ground face first.

However, one lesson she learned early in such brawls came into practice rather quickly. You do not stay on the ground unless you want a beat down. Rather than cringe and dwell on her pain, the Senshi of Rainbows pushed herself back up to her feet as quickly as possible. You went home, then you could sulk over your injuries (and new "bald spot"). Rather curiously, the yellow-suited scout lifted up her hand which had been holding firmly onto those wrenches, and soon enough did something even she had hoped she wouldn't have to do.

She tucked them into her uniform in the space between her breasts. Mentally, Ellie Spectre was screaming at Sailor Iris for doing something so lame, pathetic, and in all honesty, girly.

"Y'know... that kick of yers is really yer strong suit..." Her newly freed hand tightened up into a fist. A fist that began to glow brighter than it had the first time she had attacked the plum-haired dude-chick. It was still a gentle light, but it wasn't nearly as invisible as her first attack was.

"Gotta be honest though... I kinda like my head where it's at right now." Her eyes momentarily took note of the "captain" and his video game styled sword. Again, 2 on 1 was never a fair fight, and that was something the Ellie Spectre in her head was screaming about now. This was much more serious than she could have ever imagined. The sailor scout was dense, but she seemed to realize that she was in over her head at the moment.

Bitterly, she cursed out "...son'ova b*tch..." Sailor Iris was about to do what she had never done before in battle. She was about to try and make an escape.

"I'm sorry, sweetheart, did she catch your eye? You into that kinda thing?" The Captain asked sympathetically, seconds before Uranophane suddenly tore out a hunk of the senshi's hair. A grin flickered to his face with delight at that, utterly amused.

Then, of course, she tucked the wrenches between her breasts, and that just made everything ten tmes better, at least.

The glowing hand made him pause slightly, glancing at the downed lieutenant with a grin that was entirely unpleasant. "That sounds like a good idea, Lieutenant. In fact, that sort of thinking will have you well on your way to a promotion."

The fact that she'd put the wrenches away so she had both her hands free made him think that she was about to get serious at last, and his grip flexed itself around the hilt of his blade with anticipation. "Aww, baby, why the long face?" He crooned at her, beginning to advance. If she wouldn't make the first move, he'd be happy to initiate the fun.

"And your strong suit is clearly impersonating an oak tree," the smaller Lieutenant sneered back, picking her way a few steps back and over after getting back up. Iris had one thing right, now she was in a two-against-one battle -- Uranophane had picked up on the potential for an advantage on that front, and moved to position herself accordingly while the senshi relocated her wrenches.

The senshi's hand was glowing, Obsidian was prowling his way slowly forward like the confident cat he was. Front and center, almost tactless, fingers itching to rip the girl apart. There were two sets of claws after her now, dark gloves and bared fingers. Uranophane had positioned herself a couple yards away from her superior, waiting for an opportunity for a counter-strike if one came up.

"Looks like the princess wants to pretty you up for our next meeting, Captain," she remarked, in regards to Iris's hand.

The redheaded captain at least had a sense of humor. Were this situation not nearly as serious as it had become, she might have commented about how she liked her dudes properly equipped. The dude-chick obviously did not fit that description.

More than certainly, she was getting baited. Oh, how Sailor Iris was tempted to comment about cutting off the head of the Captain instead of making him pretty. Yet, instead, the blonde only offered one phrase as she tightened her fist.

"Iris Rainbow Ribbon!"

From her hand, a brighter ribbon than she had used the first time fluttered out. Her eyes quickly darted between the two Negaverse agents, and rather than run in to attack, she began to run in a completely different direction. It wasn't exactly hard to see her, because she had a damned rainbow trailing after her. In all honesty, the senshi had no idea if the Negaversers would be giving chase or not. However, she began to run down the street at top speed. The senshi's eyes remained focused on the path she was clearing for herself, knowing that it was better to keep your eye out for possible obstacles ahead.

Last thing she needed to do was trip herself up and make herself even more miserably screwed over.

"If that's the case, I'm going to have to politely decline." Obsidian replied casually to the Lieutenant, like they were having a pleasant conversation instead of readying themselves to murder this senshi should the opportunity present itself.

The shout was enough to make him twitch to the side instinctively, ready to move out of the way of whatever it was that she was attacking. The brightness took him a moment to adjust, angling his head away and blinking before it dawned on him; she was running. Every nerve demanded he jumped after her, but that rainbow flittering about and, ridiculously, marking a trail of exactly where she was going, had him suspicious.

"What did you say that did again, besides offering a makeover?" The Captain asked idly, his grip on the hilt of his blade relaxing a tad. "Maybe she'll run all the way home, and we can say hi to Mom and Pops, too."

Uranophane regarded one of her gloves at the Captain's question, which had a faint mark wound around it, as if the rubber had been melted just a little bit. "I suppose it does something less pleasant than making you gorgeous if you have some exposed skin for it to wrap around," she remarked, "and you have a fair bit of that. It would probably sting a little if you let it catch on your arms. In other words..."

And she turned her gaze over to the faint iridescent trail of light fluttering on down the street,

"...she's playing jellyfish. But no harm in a little bit of hunting if you stay clear of the dangerous bits." A grin. "Care to see if she won't lead us to her natural habitat? If her speech impediment is any indication, I'm betting a star seed it's a trailer."

The trail, as it burned through the night, led to the park. Obviously their prey had just a bit more going on in her mind than they might have expected. At least it seemed that way. Sailor Iris was quite certain they didn't need to know she lived close to the park.

It would have been convenient to be able to look behind her, but she couldn't spare such a glance at the moment. However, at a slightly curving pathway, she did manage to catch a glimpse of what was going on behind her. So far, it seemed safe.

Seemed being the key word. Somewhere in her mind, she couldn't help but think that she should stop and simply open up her fist to remove the light from the area. However, she was still on the pathway, where the lamp posts loomed overhead. Another part of her mind was telling her that she should keep running. Don't stop.

Her feet kept moving.

Don't stop!

Eventually, she saw off the edge of the pathway some brush. It was dense, and it wasn't in the line of the light.

Stop!

This was maybe one of the few opportunities she'd get to duck off to the side. Sailor Iris was not one for planning or thinking ahead. Yet, off of mere instinct, her hand opened up completely. As if someone had flicked a switch, the rainbow ribbon completely vanished. It was such a sudden shift in light, and Sailor Iris was only human. A magical human with a rainbow ribbon, but still human. She staggered into the brush, knelt down, and waited while hushing her breathing as best as possible.

The Captain canted his head at the warning, his expression more thoughtful now as he reevaluated the rainbow ribbon she was clearly leaving for them. "Why the hell not. If we're really lucky, they're cooking up some hick-stew." Jerking his head with a grin, the pair of Negaversers bounded off into the darkness, like hounds having picked up the scent of blood.

Obsidian was cautious even as he picked up the pace, knowing that this would likely lead into a trap of some sorts, maybe even an ambush. If it got ugly, he'd grab Uranophane and teleport them out of there. Still, why the trail? Why lead them straight to her? Though she'd lacked mental finesse, from what he'd seen, that didn't make her stupid. Just someone who talked better with their fists.

He liked that in a woman.

They flew through the park without pause, and just as his gaze flicked to see just how fair their rainbow trail led them, they were plunged into darkness. He threw out an arm, likely catching the Lieutenant hard in the chest, but he didn't pay it any mind. "Spread out." He barely breathed, and they stalked through the shadows.

This was frustrating. Her signal had winked out without a trace, and now he couldn't even sense her. She had to have powered down, vanished off his radar. For a good twenty minutes they would search, and Uranophane finally returned into defeat. They'd strayed by Sailor Iris' hiding place several times, but to no avail.

"You win some, you lose some." Obsidian snorted slightly. "Go get some rest, Lieutenant. Looks like you and I'll be having more sparring sessions soon." And then she'd really be able to squash a troublesome cockroach next time, with luck.

With that, the Captain teleported from the park, chewing over the bitter swell of defeat. Too bad. Maybe next time, they'd get to play a little longer.
