Isadora let out a defeated sigh and replied. "Nothing, Vaida... Just nothing."

The paladin somehow knew that there was no way to control Vaida's behavior like a lady. However, at least the Wyvern Lord had kept her word of not letting her temper out at the nobles... Vaida just needed to "stress out" her expression toward the servants and guards. It seemed that the paladin had left a loophole for the Captain of the Guard to express her feelings. Well, there was nothing Isadora could do but to respect her words (and hoped she didn't lose her temper so quickly.)

Looking over Vaida's shoulder, the paladin noticed a familiar figure. Relief washed over her as she let out a small grin to see Renault talking with Victoria. When did he come from? She didn't see him back in Eyris when she came to assemble the group and led them to Archesis. Did he use his magic to get here? That could be a possible answer. It was no wonder she didn't him before. Maybe when they had free time from the battle (for Isadora) and healing (for Renault), they should have a quiet moment together, perhaps over a drink or something. Speaking about drinks...

"Is it tea time already?" Isadora asked as she looked up at the sky to check the time. Ever since her visit to Estarcia, she noticed that tea time was one of their customs, whether they were nobles or commoners. How was having a tea their custom? She did not know, but she had to pay respect to their cultures.

"Perhaps we can find the general in the tea room once Alihi is with us." Isadora spoke to Vaida. "That would save us enough time to meet instead of waiting for them. And Vaida, if you're thinking about having your meatballs as tea snacks, don't."

Somehow, the paladin was thankful that meatballs was not part of the tea snacks, especially to the Estarcians. Who knew what would happen if she let Vaida had her way now that she was out of Rath and Tibarn's control? Speaking about meatballs, the paladin would also have to inform the Estarcian cooks and guards not to let Vaida into the kitchen while they're staying. The last thing she needed was to hear the Estarcian king punishing them if he ate one of Vaida's meatballs. Seeing the old king with Vaida's meatballs' "special effect" would be a terrible image.

[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ]

Blossom smiled warmly to Alihi as she first responded, and while the expression waned slightly as she paused, looking uncomfortable, it did not disappear. Stress and worries only ended up making things worse, didn't they? Like at Halloween... Blossom barely managed to suppress the violent shiver that went down her spine and hid it by pretending to smooth out the sides of her shirt, willing the memories to the back of her mind.

The Hero didn't probe the subject. "I've been fine," she told her, smiling. "More work with the Hostess Club, actually. It keeps me in town. Aidan's been busy with work of his own, too, but he's been in town, so it's all fine," Blossom notified Alihi with a wide smile of relief. She folded her arms behind her back. "Vika's staying with us, too. We set up our guest room for her and everything. She seems comfortable there. It's good, too, to see her open up to people. She's a nice person. Good friend." Blossom smiled a little, thinking how radically the raven had changed.

She perked up when she heard approaching footsteps, turning to see the orange-haired wyvern rider rush over to where they were. "Hi there!" Blossom chirped.

Oh, wait, not there for her. Just for Alihi. Of course; Alihi was the tactician, Blossom was just the warrior. She didn't mind, though. Tactician's work wasn't suited to her; she didn't like sitting on the sidelines, she would be too tempted to run right up to the battlefield and plunge into the thick of things. And then she'd probably get killed, considering that combat capability wasn't exactly a necessity of making strategy and plans...

But I digress. Blossom nodded to the two ladies, smoothing her skirt with one hand. "I'll leave you two to your business, then. Keep it up, Alihi, okay? And relax, you'll never accomplish anything that way." Blossom turned around. "Let's do something together when we're back in Eyris, huh?" she smiled wide, then rushed off to the mess hall, little black shoes tap-tap-tapping against the concrete sidewalk.

Blossom went right into the mess hall, smiling at the sight of all the people chattering and relaxing, trying to use what time they had to ease away the aches of their long travel to this country. Blossom adjusted her hat over her head and wove her way through, trying to locate someone she was familiar with...

...And found Lance sitting near the fireplace, looking rather lost.

Blossom's eyes widened. He wasn't there before, was he? Had she even seen him come along? The Hero rushed to him without further ado, sitting down next to him. "Lance...! Are you all right? You're still sick, aren't you?" she asked, concerned. She put one arm gently around his shoulders, using the other hand to brush his bangs clear of his face. "Why did you come along? How do you feel...?"

Melethia had followed with the rest of the group to Estarcia's capital. She was shivering a little bit by the time they had gotten there. In her rush to get to Roy and see if she was able to talk to him, she kinda wasn't dressed the best way for walking in the cold. So once she got inside she went to the closest source of heat to warm up.

She looked around the place. Even though she was keeping a serious look on her face, she wanted to just make a disgusted face. This was the rich people country. She didn't like dealing with them because they had all these different rules and stuff. Of course that wasn't how things were with her back where she grew up.

"Look at this place." She thought,"This is a country of rich snobs. I feel ill. The blond bitchy sniper would fit right in here. I wonder if he's here. If he is, I'm going to make it so he gets left behind. After what happened the last time I rather he not go anywhere near me. His presence alone makes me want to kill him. I'm sure the same can be said for him."

There was though one other thing on her mind, Roy. She was wondering if he was going to talk to her or not. She wasn't going to rush him. He would come when the time comes. So for the time being, she would just let herself warm up and try not to say anything to the people here. She didn't want to make things bad for everyone else.

User ImageCornelius walked out from the medical facility, and headed out toward the barracks area. He had been given word that Learania had arrived, and it would do no good to keep them waiting. Their enemy certainly would not be waiting, after all. If they were to stand a chance, mobilization had to be made active, some way or another.

The general turned a corner, and saw two females standing out of the barracks. Cornelius smiled, as he recognized one of them by face. "Tea does indeed sound nice. However, I should like to have mine while we form our strategy. It would be more proper to first present you to His Highness, but... unfortunately he has declined to having any visitors..." Cornelius headed over to the two of them. He realized that not seeing the king may not be appreciated, but he was unable to persuade the king in his stance. He thought seeing the Learanians would only show weakness; that they would try to hold this whole thing over him.

After reaching where the woman were, Cornelius bowed his head toward the women. "It is nice to see you again, Lady Isadora of Learania." He turned to face the other fiercer looking woman. "It is also a pleasure to meet you, Fair Lady of the East. I am General Cornelius. I apologize for my delay in coming to you. I was making sure our injured were being properly looked after. Our Captain of the Guard recently returned from battle. The results were... less than beneficial, for our troops." Cornelius shut his eyes for a moment, as if taking a few second pause to pray for the health of the wounded. "If you are willing, please send your healers to help treat them. I will see if Captain Cyric is well enough to join our discussion, and then meet you in the conference room. A soldier can lead you there."

Having finished what he had to say, Cornelius reached out and took the hand of the fair paladin. He held it up and kissed it, as was courteous to do with women of high standing. "I look forward to working with you, Fair Dame." He released the hand and went off to see Cyric.

User ImageStaring into the dancing flames soothed Lance's mind for some reason. Enveloping eachother, changing forms...not many people actually took their time admiring it, but a fire had a lot of artistic touches in it. The graceful movements of the fireplace reminded Lance of some of the beauty that he missed with his old self...but that reminiscing calmed him when he could imagine himself going back to his awesome self, some time in the future. Unless he died before that. That'd be a bit pitiful.

He was brought back to his senses at the sound of a voice that he thought was familiar to him but he couldn't put his thumb on exactly why. The person, a girl, that he had a feeling he knew, probably because she knew his name and certain facts about him, but that didn't make him remember her more just because of that. Her frantic questions was asked in such a manner that he'd have to assume he made her worry at some point...

No point in beating around the bush.

"Hunh? Ah, yes, I'm not really alrigh'...no, I'm not too sick anymore, aleas' no' with wha' I had earlier..." he spoke in a matter-of-factly kind of voice, methodically answering her questions with a weary sound.

His body stiffened at her touch, mostly from surprise than anything. I didn't know I knew someone this well..."...I do hope this sort of touch is one between friends, because if you would turn ou' to be my lover, then I'd be embarassed to tell you that I have no idea who you are, which certainly wouldn' get me in good graces regarding a love life...though that's a lie, I have a fain' clue that I know you somehow, but that's it...I came along for some reason I just vaguely remember, but that reason is since a while ago forgotten due to my current state of mind, which I hope isn't permament, because then I wouldn' remember any of my friends anymore...so other than my temporary amnesia, or inability to connect my memories together correctly, I have a minor headache, but nothing serious...how are you?"

Blossom frowned at his response to her, resting the back of her hand across his forehead to gauge his temperature. Not as hot as she would have thought, but it was still warm, which made her brow crease with concern. "Are you sure? You still don't look quite well..."

The stiffening of his body didn't escape her; with one arm around his shoulders, it would be difficult to not notice it. What she didn't expect, though, was his response, making her own spine go rigid, eyes widening a little.

Blossom put her hand on his forehead again, checking his temperature once more. The same. "Lance, it's... it's me, Blossom! I mean... no, we aren't lovers, I'm married, for goodness' sakes! But you are my friend, and... why don't you remember anything...? Did you hit your head or something? Lean down, just a little," Blossom urged, voice wobbling a little, as she gently guided Lance's back lower. Her fingertips gently probed across the back of his head, being careful not to irritate any possible injury. She couldn't feel anything, so...

Blossom looked back at Lance. She now noticed the black eye, and her index finger barely grazed against it, her frown deepening.

"Is there... anything I could say to make you remember anything? Something I could do?" She paused, remembering his comment. "I have a minor headache, but nothing serious..."

"Um... do you.. want a cold washrag? For your head?" the Hero asked uncertainly. "Do you need some water to drink?"

User ImageHe supposed the girl's reaction was logical, though he wished she didn't have to deny being his lover that profusely, it sort of hurt his feelings. But then again, it was a bit out of line of him to mention it.

"Blossom...Blossom...it feels like I have the data, but I can't quite zone in on it..."

He massaged his temples, looking like he was really trying to recall, when suddenly his face showed signs of figuring something out. "Ah. Something comes to mind."

He stretched out his arms and pointed to Blossom's chest. "For some reason, the word 'boobs' come to mind when I hear your name...small, fla' ones...ye' yours aren'...did you have work done on them?"

He ignored his line of thought to continue answering her questions. "And I'm not sure if something happened...I know I was sick for a while, at which point I set up some goals, but then suddenly I forgot all abou' it. Assuming you're my friend you'd know abou' my condition, about how my mind slowly deteriorates into nothingness? I theorize that due to the illness, it brough' abou' certain issues with my brain, making it more difficult to categorize my thoughts. I think it's a temporary amnesia brought abou' from my illness, but I wouldn' be too sure since it migh' jus' as well be me going more and more insane."

It felt like he was being interrogated, but maybe this would lead to something. His face stung when she touched his black eye. "Ow. Please don't touch that, it smarts. Be gentle, it's not like I'm some toy to play with and then discard when I get broken, although in a way it was a pleasan' touch so I forgive you."

"You keep asking me questions abou' wha' you can do for me, bu' am I really the bes' person to ask abou' it? If my mind is disintigrating, then I'm probably lacking the insigh' abou' my own health. I dunno wha' you can do for me, but if you'd figure it'd help, then maybe it's better to try than not? I appreciate the sentimen', it's hard taking care of yourself when you're no longer in your former glory, and your only companion is a cactus only you can see and talk to."

It felt like Lance's brain was directly connected to his mouth right now, because his line of thought and his dialogue didn't make much sense.

((Sorry Ashnard... I'm on hiatus... so no format while i'm gone))

As expected the march was long and uneventful, boring to sum it up..... oh and cold, it was definitely cold.

The march was boring and cold, and Joshua had wasted no time making it into the barracks, he had wandered around idley and had gotten a quick something to eat, before he found his way too a room that had a fireplace (and a few easy marks by the look of it) Joshua had no love to wander around outside of the barracks, from what he had heard, this country was comprised of stuck up nobles who would rather wade through paperwork rather than efficiently help the people. Stick that kind in a desert with a sword and a hat and they'd end up feeding the sand... besides he'd rather win money from people he knew than complete strangers. He was about to claim a table and use it as a location from which he could gamble from when a loud voice called to him, shouted really.

"Hmm?" He wondered turning to face an imposing figure pointing at him from across the room...... Joshua searched his memory for such a man but nothing came to mind.... he really was quite large.

"I hope I don't owe him any money." He thought as he walked over, "But a proposition eh?" He smirked by the sounds of it there might be a chance to win some money here..... or now that he thought of it.... perhaps he might win something else.... and maybe add another name to that little peice of paper inside of his hat.

Although near the group the stranger was sitting on his own leaving the table he was at empty. Joshua took a seat across from where the man was standing.

"Can't say I'm not interested, not every day a complete stranger yells at you." He said to the man.

[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ]

Blossom watched Lance for a few moments, and when he seemed to remember something, her face brightened. "Yes, Blossom! Blossom Cheverell! Do you remember Aidan? He's my husband, I--"

Blossom's eyes followed his fingers... right to her bust. Her entire face turned bright red, and she folded her arms over the ample mounds of flesh. "E-Excuse you! I went through puberty when you weren't looking, okay? I mean... yeah, it was triggered by that magic pearl, but I did NOT do anything unnatural to them!" Blossom gave Lance a harsh glare, but her expression softened just a little as he started to drawl on, and when he finally fell silent, her eyes were worried again.

Yeah, that boy was losing it.

"A...All right, then." Blossom put an arm gently around his shoulder and looked around curiously. She reached out and plucked up a mug of water nearby--whoever's it was, she would just have to forgive them later--and held it out for him to take. "Drink. It might help clear your head a little. Would you like a blanket? Are you warm enough in front of the fire?" Blossom rubbed his back in a way she hoped was comforting.

She fell silent, unsure of what to do. If he was literally going insane, what was she capable of doing to help that? He didn't even fully remember her, did he...? Blossom held back a sign and simply rubbed Lance's back. "Are you hungry?" she asked quietly.

I feel like I can face the day...
...and I can forgive.

♦ ◄ALIHI► ♦

Alihi nodded slowly, the smile not fading from her face. "That's great! I'm glad to hear it..." She said cheerfully. It was good to hear that Aidan was around, for she was getting worried, too, and, well... even after Halloween, Alihi couldn't bring herself to truly hate Vika; it wasn't entirely the raven's fault that the events that happened occurred. Though some bitterness existed, it was not enough to sway Alihi's opinions in the slightest.

She paused, wondering how to continue the conversation, when Mihira approached, letting her know that Vaida and Isadora were looking for her. The expression on her face threatened to falter, yet stayed stable. Time to do what I do best; plan. After nodding in agreement to Blossom's statement (she really did need to get out more often), Alihi turned and went to seek out Vaida. Luckily, it didn't take so long; after a few moments of looking around, she noticed the familiar blonde woman, along with Isadora.

Putting on a face that could only be described as professional, she approached the pair. "You were looking for me?" She said, in a manner that was more a statement than a question.

And I'm not ashamed to be...
...the person that I am today.

"You look like a confident swordsman," Ashnard said to Joshua, "But I'm willing to bet that you can't beat me in a duel." The Mad King scanned the swordmaster's face. He was obviously a gambling man, his entire body pretty much gave off an aura of chance. "Now, I've only been beaten once," the man said, "and I don't plan on losing again any time soon, but I think that you could at least give me a run for my money." The general reached out in hand for Joshua to shake. "The name's Ashnard."

Edward noticed a giant man (in his standard) clad in black armor and a red headed swordsman talking to each other. He walked over to them and listened to their conversation. "A duel? I want to watch. It would be a good experience."

Joshua had noticed the sword being sharpened, "Eh? You're a swordsman? You look a little.... errr thick." He motioned at Ashnards arms, "Still, I don't think I've ever fought any human as big as yourself.... a duel sounds great, but lets leave it for a bit, I like the anticipation.... in fact here" Joshua reached into one of his pockets on the inside of his jacket and handed a map to Ashnard. "I'm Joshua by the way, when I'm ready for us to fight I'll send you a letter.... being a big fellow like yourself it shouldn't be to hard to me to figure out where you are.... anyway when you get the letter inside will be a piece of that map." If Ashnard hadn't noticed by now he'd see that on the map the section that led outside of Eyris was torn off. "I'll be waiting there."

He grinned as he mentally reminded himself to add Ashnard to that little bit of paper. "In the mean time though..... what say you and I test our luck? Sort of a preview..." Joshua had snuck a die into his hand and held it out for Ashnard to inspect.

"The Game ((WHICH YOU ALL JUST LOST)) is simple. You call higher or lower, if the number on the die shows a three, a two or a one its lower, if it shows anything higher then a three its higher..... how about a starting bid of one-thousand gold?"

Unfortunately for Joshua he was interrupted by someone who could have been a swordmaster..... but wasn't dressed like one. "Watch? Hmmm...... here." He handed a map identical to the one he had given Ashnard to Edward... "I'm not a fan of repeating myself so I'm going to hope you heard the instructions I gave him..... though when you get there you may want to do more then watch." He winked knowingly at Edward, "Now back to the most important matter...... you want to play as well? In that case the game has changed, ((If you didn't lose earlier you do now!)) rather then higher or lower each of us will choose two numbers.... if one of your numbers is facing up, well you win all the money in the pot. The opening bid is one-thousand gold."

Things were going wonderfully! Not only had he recruited two new members into his plan, but was going to win some gold..... and who knows? Sometimes a group gambling could pull in more people who normally wouldn't.... perhaps someone else would approach the table.

He’d just have to depend on luck, so far today it hadn’t let him down.
