Well, the audition today went alright, besides me switching my scales(I played E instead of F and F instead of E). I knew all my etudes, a first in the past 2 years. Last year I sightread my third etudeXD My chromatic scale was alrght as well, but a bit squeaky and a couple mistakes.
Oh, and did I mention tha my finger hurt so bad it hurt to put it on the key, so I kept squeaking. That was probably the worst part. I think I will still make it though.

Peutaiite Yay!! Good job. Hopefully you made it. I have an audition on Monday. I don't have a hurt finger, but I'm still nervous. razz I was nervous until i got into the warmup room. Then when i walked into the audition room, it hit me twofold. Especially because the judge for us clarinet was Lazlo veres, also known as the Clarinet NaziXD He wrote our fight song. Just because he is Nazi, doesn't mean we are. Our fight song goes really high. Like, High A. Its annoying.

Sounds pretty intimidating.
wink I just had the weirdest image of a Nazi directing a band and being like, "YOU PLAY WRONG NOTE!!!! YOU BE PUNISHED NOW!!!!!"
My friend told me that the grade 11/12 music teacher at her school is a possible judge. Apparently she's scary! lol. My friend also told me that everyone thinks she's awesome though, so she must be one of those BDs who are scary until you're in their band.

On the good side, we can't see any weird faces they might make, but on the other side, it is what you cant see that scares you

Yeah. That's what I was thinking. It would be nice, I guess, to audition without seeing anyone, but you're right. It is more scary when you don't see it.
yay! Story! razz
So the jazz band had a concert a few weeks ago, and all the lights were shined on us. So bright, that all we saw when we looked out into the audience was black. It was really intimidating not being able to see them.
We were the opening for a..... don't know the word right now, but a band with guitar, singing, etc. (They were why everyone was there) and right before we played, I heard a girl talk with attitude to her friend, "I did NOT come here for this!" It really made me more nervous after that comment. lol

I think it is rude when people comment badly about the opening act.
I also think it is rude when people talk about someone when they are auditioning. You could hear the person in the audition room while waiting outside. a group of kids was beeing realy rude to the girl before me. They kept saying how they wished they could go after her because she would make them sound good and stuff like that. More annoying is that the boy who made that comment was warming up by me and my sl(and pretty much the rest of our school who was auditioning) and he stunk. Badly. He failed at his scales, and he was playing his etudes faster then he was capable of palying them, yet here he was making fun of someone because they missed pone note. (I feel like a bit of a hypocrite saying he sucked and saying he shouldn't be saying stuff about other people when they can't hearXD)

It made me feel, "Awwww, I don't wanna play anymore right now! crying " That's so mean! Well he was probably hoping to go after her because he knew he sucked? And he was wanting people to mess up so he could have a chance, because he knew he didn't? Ya, usually, the people who say things like, "This person sucks! That person sucks!" aren't the best themselves. No, you don't sound like a hypocrite. It's for the sake of the story, so it's okay. I've told stories like that to people too. I felt a little bad for saying that the person sucked, but if it hadn't been said, the story wouldn't have made sense.

Good. i ws hoping I was being a hypocriteXD
Yeah, it seems like a trendXD
My SL made it into regionals though. Despite playing the wrong scale, she did really good. She had etudes down better then me and she wasn't squeaking like I was.
But I think my region might be short on clarinets. Like, accept all of them low.
Last year, one of the clarinets at my school didn't want to get in, so she sightread all her etudes. She stll made it.

Mhm. It's kinda weird though. I wonder why.
She made it in at the audition that was today? Or is this another time?
ahh, that'd be good and bad. Good 'cause you made it, but if it was me, I'd be upset and wonder if I would have really made it.
:O Really? That sucks. sad

Well, I was standing by the door during her audition yesterday, and she did really good. If she doesn't make it, I will be extremely surprised.
