There was a shout for an attack, and then a faint hissing sound after. That was enough for Sailor Iris to turn around to face the commotion. These Youma really were just getting uglier every time. As Metis approached, the Senshi of rainbows tightened her fist. Her fist began to glow, gently at first, but soon enough it became more intense. It hurt the common person's eyes to look at it directly, though it probably wouldn't hurt Sailor Metis at all.
"Let's make this quick," the Super senshi snorted out as a rainbow that was composed of the brightest colors escaped from her hand. Normally she wouldn't have started off with such a strong attack, but she wanted to get back to talking. Sailor Iris still had some choice things she wanted to tell her momentary partner.
"Iris Rainbow SLICER!"
Sailor Iris did not have to move from where she was standing as she flung her arm towards the pathetic (but still ugly) Youma. The rainbow hurtled towards the rat-like creature and easily took claim of the torso of its body. This was nothing like the gentle heat of the Rainbow Ribbons, but a rather scalding, intense heat. Only once the rainbow slicer was secure around the Youma's body did she start to pull back forcefully, about to slice through the creature as easily as butter.

She'd been wondering just what Iris had meant about becoming more powerful. She got her answer pretty fast, that's for sure. The bright light for most showed up for Metis as a mass collection of energy waves, white like the energy for her own attack, lighting up the area for her like the sun would for anyone with regular sight. It was a stunning thing, though as predicted, she felt no pain from turning her eyes in its direction. Useless eyes are useless, but at least she could still appreciate the power she was viewing.
Still she had to frown a bit at Iris' words, assuming her to mean that once the fight was over, she'd be on her way. With the way the meeting had gone, she could hardly think of any other way to translate. A rather bumming aspect, really. And here she'd been so happy to see the other scout-
'Slicer'? "...you have a new attack, too?" The aura around Iris' attack shifted, launching out and twisting around that of the youma. Oh and the smell! She thought the stench of that Minotaur's flesh slowly roasting was bad, but it had nothing on a trash feasting rat getting fried right then and there. Metis had moved slightly, taking a step forward to help pull on the rope to cut through the creature, but stopped again when she listened and looked towards it.
It was screaming again, gurgling and causing such a racket. Maybe the Minotaur had just been really strong, or maybe this rat was just really weak. Or, maybe... Supers just had this much of an edge on regular senshi. Blind and burning and now getting sliced, Metis might have felt bad for it if it wasn't the type of giant rodent to try and kill people.
But it was, so instead she only watched with a startled expression as Iris' upgraded rainbow began to dig in and start the slice. "...a powerful new attack..." She'll admit it, she was in awe.

The screeching sound was really getting annoying. The rainbow made its way through the pained creature, slicing through the flesh rather easily, and only coming across a slight hitch at bones, which just required a slightly jerking motion from Sailor Iris to get the rainbow to slice through that as well.
Soon enough the Youma had been sliced into two, the bottom half twitching for a moment before completely disintegrating into what seemed like ash. The upper body lingering for longer, writhing in pain, hissing out one thing before it also began to dissolve into dust.
"Starseeds..."
Sailor Iris had managed to keep a pretty stern expression on her face as she "worked," but a brow quirked up slightly at the departing words the Youma offered. It probably had been looking to get one to power up or something. With the creature gone, she opened up her hand which had been controlling the slicer, and instantly it vanished.
In all honesty, she felt slightly wobbly, but being the stubborn mule she was, she remained standing as firmly as possible. "...it's not really a new attack..." she mused aloud. "I just can control how much energy goes inta the rainbow... I couldn't control that before..." Now that her hand was free, she turned and literally patted it (or rather, slapped it) upon this girl's shoulder.
It was time for business.
"It's time fer ya t'stop wishin' and start doin', kiddo."
There was a pause as Sailor Iris' gold eyes once more looked intensely into Metis' dull ones.
"Yer gonna start trainin' with me on how t'fight."

Was it bad that she was starting to get used to not being able to block out the visuals of the youma writhing around in pain? Sure she leaned back a bit when it spoke before vanishing at last, but who wouldn't? It wanted to take peoples souls so it could become stronger. Creepy. The black aura dissipated along with the rat, and for a moment it didn't matter for her vision. The bright rainbow of burning doom was still all she needed to see everything in the alley and more... till that poofed too.
Her world darkened down to just their shared copper waves, only a few from the city beyond them making it through the buildings. At least her hearing was fine as ever, listening in to Iris' explanation with a thoughtful expression. "Still, it's pretty awesome." Her left hand clasped her right arm, thoughts still lurking around attack upgrades, the increase in control, and various uses for it. "So it still doesn't burn y- hm?" Metis paused mid word upon getting a slap on the back, the force knocking her forward a half a step and making her give a blank look to her (...not...mad?) comrade.
Once more she was called 'kiddo,' and the question of age popped into her head. Not that she got the chance to voice it before she was set with the unusual sight of someone again making intentional eye contact with her. Blind as ever, she wondered in that brief moment if she still seemed odd to others even with her unique way of seeing. Was she still weird? If so, wasn't Iris creeped out? Why didn't she avoid doing it like Lilith knew people did in her daily life? Few people hadn't seemed so affected by it...
Huuuuh what?
"I... am?" She grinned. Might have jumped around for joy if she had any less control of herself than she did, instead she just grinned like a fool might at her new teacher. "Wait, you really mean it?" If she was legit, Metis might just forgive any past and further use of 'kiddo' on her. Her enthusiasm might have seemed possibly a little much for a normal person, but this was a complete change of pace for her. No one would dare teach a blind kid how to fight. What'd be the use, is most people's train of thought on the subject. Mentally, she threw as much gratitude and praise towards that grouchy silver feline that found her that fateful day in the park for such a shot in her life.

"I don't kid about this sorta crap, kiddo."
Sailor Iris stood herself up to her fullest height, while still looking the girl dead in the eyes. Rather than thinking about what she was saying, soon enough her opinion was offered aloud for Metis to hear. "Yer eyes are kinda weird... anyone ever tell ya that?"
Even after pointing such out, her eyes still remained steady on this girl's eyes. She offered another sturdy pat to the other scout's shoulder. "Next time I see ya, yer gonna learn a thing or two 'bout fightin'..." She offered a big grin, and then, without any warning, she turned and began to walk away.
Had the idea of setting up a date to start working on such training ever come up in her mind?
No, not really.
However, if there was one thing Sailor Iris was good for, it was for a promise.

It was going to take a little getting used to to not twitch a little each time she was called that. Wasn't the worst she's been called though, a thought that made her take it with a grin. A grin that faltered a bit with the answer to her unasked question before she gave a quick little laugh. "I'll explain next time," was her own little promise to add to the pot, never mind giving her the time to figure out how to tactfully say everything without sounding like an idiot.
The second time the friendly gesture came she didn't fall forward, though it was difficult to not sway a tiny bit. Iris was going to give her an upper-body work out just trying to stay upright! "Can't wait, and thank you." The smile remained as the two began to part ways, Metis herself quickly turning to find a fast route back to her rooftops.
Once she'd realized no proper meeting date had been arranged, she only laughed as she ran and hopped from building to building. The city was big, but if she could run into the Senshi of Rainbows out of the blue like this, she wasn't too worried about finding her a third time. Life had a funny kind of way of working out like that~
