While Speed went inside to get the keys, Billy made his way over to the jeep. He looked it over, not knowing much about the make of cars. He knew more about the interiors of the motor and how it worked. It made him miss his car, the RADBUG he'd rigged up in case of teleportation issues.
He turned his head towards the station and then slithered under to do a check of the jeep's underside. Dirty but it all looked in order. He pulled himself out from under it and waited.

A few minutes went by quietly and then Speed came scampering out of the door, the keys in his mouth, a happy look on his face as he hopped over to Billy. He set them down, "That was easy, she was out like a light, snoring and everything!" he exclaimed. "Now, do you need me to explain anything to you?" he asked.

Under his helmet, he gaped because when was the last time someone explained anything to him? He shook his head. No, he think he knew the basics of driving. Or pedal pushing as it was probably going to be.
"I think I can handle it," he stated wryly. If he could drive and manuever the Triceratops Dinozord and Megazord-surely a jeep couldn't be that hard. Even if he hadn't ever formerly had Driver's Ed, or even a permit.
On second thought...

"Great!" Speed exclaimed and he grabbed the keys into his mouth again. He hopped onto the wheel and then to the hood and scampered his way over the windshield, hopping onto the worn seat, waiting for the Blue Ranger to come on.

Billy followed Speed's lead, leaping onto the wheel and then the hood before flipping over the windshield into the passenger seat. He waited a beat trying to decide which way would work best before scurrying down to sit in front of the foot pedals, placing his booted foot just on top-but not pressing down.
"Have you done this before?" Because just about then he was starting to seriously reconsider.

"Once before!" leaving out the part he crashed the jeep into a pond. He hopped onto the dashboard and put the key into the ignition. Turning it a few times, the engine finally came to life and he turned a cautious eye to the cabin windows. Thankfully there was no movement, so he hopped back down onto the seat.

Once was better than none. He wasn't sure he wanted to know what had happened the first time. It must have gone well if the ranger allowed this... He didn't even want to examine the thoughts that came up at that.
"Pushing on the brake pedal," he called as he pressed down so that the car wouldn't go anywhere until they were ready. "Tell me when to hit the gas-" he swallowed. That didn't sound good.

Speed made sure his helmet was on straight, tightened is gloves and then stood up on his haunchs and put his front paws on the steering wheel, getting a good grip. For a few seconds, he allowed himself to miss his caretaker, the real car driver and how he would let Speed stand on his lap to steer the car while he pushed the gas and brakes for him.
Shaking his head to stop himself from crying, he grabbed the gear stick and put the car into drive, nodding to the Blue Ranger, "Alright, hit the gas!" he said, both paws back on the wheel.

Holding his breath, the Blue Ranger released the brake pedal and stepped on the gas, grateful that he had positioned his back against the seat so he wasn't thrown back by the sudden motion. He squeezed his eyes shut, realizing it was too late to turn back now.
"I hope you can see where you're going!" he called to the race car driver. Absently wondering if he could build a car for the otter. An interesting theory-not the time to think about it.

Speed let out a whoop as the jeep drove off and he steered it down a dirt road, keeping his eyes on the road, "Don't worry Blue Ranger, I can see perfectly!! Step on the gas more, we need to go faster!" he exclaimed, paws keeping a tight grip on the wheel.

The Blue Ranger pressed more firmly on the gas. "Be careful!" It was official, he was having a mental breakdown. Allowing this otter to borrow a jeep and helping him drive it along a dirt road to who knows where going who knows how fast.
"There isn't a speed limit out here, is there?" he asked. He really didn't need to get in trouble with the law. Or at all.

"My name is Speed Racer, I am the speed limit!! WOOHOO!!" he cried out, doing a sharp turn and having the jeep on two wheels for a few moments before it dropped back down. This was the life, going face, making heart-stopping turns and just having fun!!

Absently realizing that he was in a bad position, in more ways than one, Billy could do little but continue holding down the gas pedal. Especially when Speed took a sharp turn, causing him to stretch out like Gumby to keep from falling over.
"I have a bad feeling about this," he muttered to himself. How very Star Wars of him to figure that out now, instead of say earlier when he could do something about it.

Speed continued to make sharp turns here and there, but then yelled for the Blue Ranger to 'Hit the brake!'

Muscles straining to stay upright, he almost didn't hear the command. Slamming his foot on the brake pedal he lurched forward, banging his head on the underside of the steering column. He twitched his tail as his ears fell flat against his head. Ow.
"What's going on up there?" a slight irritation in his voice. He internally decided this would be the last time he would ever be a pedal pusher. At the least, he felt very sorry for canned sardines.
