RUNESCAPE IS NOT ABOUT MATCHING THE COLORS OF YOUR OUTFIT.
It's about leveling your skills.

This kind of stuff pisses me off. I know, I sound like a hypocrite right now
but I don't play Runescape to play dress up. That's what Gaia's for. I could
care less if my whip matched my Blue Ele or my Halloween Event Costume.

They could have done something more productive with the game like update
ALL the monsters and races, or work on getting the new skill as good as
it can be. Hell, even fixing the damn Earth Altar would be good.

[rant_rant_rant_rant]

I better never catch you wearing any sort of trim, or otherwise useless object that gives you no added stat bonus then. Including things that are actually good, but have something better, but you're only wearing them because they match your armor. You know, like the whole deal with Dragon gloves over Barrows gloves while wearing Dragon, for example. Not saying you have, but that's just a nice example. rolleyes

I don't wear my Dragon gloves over my Barrows gloves because they
match with my Dragon Chainbody but because, as I've said many many
times, I still have a love for Dragon Armor that Bandos will never replace.
I always dreamed of having Dragon Armor and now I do, an almost
complete set in fact. I have it for the same reason I still have my
Saradomin Armor and Rune Boots. Sentimental value.

Well, sentimental value doesn't help raise your skills now does it?

Either way, what's wrong with having some variety in the game? At the same time, what's wrong with showing off a little bit of achievement. You need points in order to alter the whip, so it would show a bit of achievement there.

Depends on the person you're talking to. You have to remember
I wore my full Dragon all through my Defence and Strength training
and oh look, they're both 99.

Yes variety it nice but maybe instead of just recoloring a whip they
could have made another weapon that's just as powerful as the whip,
maybe more or maybe less. Maybe they could have made that giant
axe that some of the barbarians walk around with. Like, you've earned
enough points and so thus have proved yourself good enough to be
like a barbarian.

All I'm hearing is QQ...

Honestly they probably did this because the whip IS the most popular weapon in the game, why not be able to make yours semi-unique?

You wore them, but did they have an effect on your training, aside from make you happy? Let's say you chose to wear that stuff instead of wearing something that would have giving you a strength bonus and such. You know, stuff that would have made training faster.

So, go suggest that. It seems as though the whole whip coloring came from player suggestions afterall.

Either way, I don't believe RS is about skilling, it's about adventuring. NPCs refer to you commonly as an adventurer. And honestly, that describes players in general. Whether they play RS to complete anything and everything, or if they choose only one or a few of the things available. Whether it be skills, quests, PKing, minigames or whatnot. Not everything that's released is meant to make everything better, because that's impossible. The updates cater to a wide range of options available, and to each person, it may come useful to them, or it will not. And each person will have a different use for whatever it may be.

Colored Whips. Nice.
I don't care what I use for combat, but if I just want to dress up this is great!
I am glad players have to work for it though.

Now, time for different dragon armor color because I know there are different kind of dragons in this game then red.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 21, 2010 3:14 pm

Im not a member anymore, but Im not against colored whips. Matching may not be everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people like that kind of stuff. Id personaly stick to red myself.

So, you wanted to train with a friend, instead of grinding the ******** out of the skill. I have no problem with that. But why is it such a big deal to you that we now have an option to color whips? rolleyes

Just because it isn't something you are really looking forward to having, doesn't mean others won't enjoy it.

A White Abyssal Whip? The Abyss is demonic, full of "evil" creatures,
demons, and blood. White is usually associated with purity.

represents purity with something demonic.

No not really. I like being happy. neutral
