I was honestly thinking that maybe when I have some more free time I might have to do a couple of Sailor Moon marathons as I have forgotten a lot of things over time. Plus I might have to force myself to watch that stupid fourth season for a second time, even though I am a firm believer that once is MORE than enough.

The 4th season could be worse, There's Pegasus after all. Though without him I'd say it's not worth watching it all.

I Just read Warriors of Legend: Reflections of Japan in Sailor Moon. It was full of loads on information I didn't know like, how almost ALL the locations in the series and manga had a real life counterpart. Like Galaxy TV in the 5th season was completely based on what Toei studios looked like.
As the tile implies there's also a good deal of info dealing with how closely the lives of the sailor senshi are like the lives of real typical Japanese teens. Though a lot less time was spent on this correlation than you'd expect from the title.
There's also a lot of information about the mythology behind sailor moon (Ie not the SM universe stuff but, earlier ancient myths the characters take their names/personality traits from) Some of that section seemed very invented by the authors rather than what Takeuchi was really going for, but it was still very interesting.
Sadly the book itself is not well written. It's a bunch of interesting facts strung together very poorly. I highly suggest it if you're a moonie though as the great information is worth wading through the writing.

So even though it's been briefly discussed in the manga/anime re release thread, I thought I'd bump this topic because Sailor moon is in the midst of a world wide release. So far we've only had the manga re-release announced in teh states, but I'm guessing we'll get more stuff. If the merchandising that's happening in the rest of the world is any indication.
Has anyone gotten any of the new stuff? Is there anything you're particularly hoping for?
I'd like to see the old sailor moon games released in english even if it was on like one mega compilation or something, I loved playing the RPG and would like to play other than just emulated.

So far we've only had the manga re-release announced in teh states, but I'm guessing we'll get more stuff. If the merchandising that's happening in the rest of the world is any indication. Has anyone gotten any of the new stuff? Is there anything you're particularly hoping for? I would absolutely fall over with happiness if for some bizarre reason they would officially release the Sailor Moon RPG in english. I was a lot of fun! As for new stuff, I bought the new gashapons from Italy and I have to say I am kind of disappointed. Sailor Moon always had "big eyes" but this is a little ridiculous. I am sad with the style turn they took. We'll have to see if anything is released here other than the manga reprints.

I just read yesterday that they've decided not to make a new star locket in Italy. I think it's really a shame since they old version are so hard to find and expensive. (I just saw a pin Japanese one sell for over $3k eek ) I'm wondering if they're going to make any other RPG toys. (aside from the Luna Pen and Crescent want that are already out)

LadyBuggington My first question is crude one because I'm totally juvenile. But when thew starlights are gender switching are they anatomically correct? Iknow they don't have breasts, but what about everything else, externally or internally? Would all those fanfics with seiya and usagi really work out? And if they are wouldn't that be sort of...stressful for them? Do they feel weird about using the men's room or changing in a locker room with men when they're really women in disguise? While I'm on the subject of bathrooms, do the sailor senshi just have to hold it when they're transformed? Their costumes are magically appearing so I have to think they're pretty much molded on and don't have zippers or anything. Those are just my inappropriate ponderings... Your ponderings are hilarious! My dad still teases me to this day about where in the world their pockets are on their scout outfits. Every time Sailor Moon would materialize her weapon out of thin air for that particular season, he'd say, "Where does she put it?!"

At some point or another my friend and I decided that Sailor Moon (and any other magical girl) must enter a henshin dimension. The Henshin dimension is a little corner of the space time continuum where time stops just long enough to for fancy costume changes and elaborate attacks. So clearly the wands must come from a Henshin Dimension suburb, the wand dimension, where magical girl, wands staffs and other artifacts wait for someone to enter the Henshin dimension and claim them. 3nodding Bleeding_Heart_Blooms LadyBuggington My first question is crude one because I'm totally juvenile. I guess this is one of the benefits of the manga being re-released. I had no idea they even carried this stuff until I saw an article on the Anime News Network. Go forth and purchase! biggrin
