Jerome's brow furrowed at the description. As he complied his next sentence carefully, he took another sip of the sake, this time shaking a bit from the wonderful taste. After he swallowed he complimented her on the delicious drink and set the cup down.
"So let me see if understand. You WANT to be..hired entertainment? Why" he asked. After thinking about it he realized it was a rather due question as perhaps he thought she didn't have a choice in the matter, just as he didn't have a choice either

"I am glad to see you are enjoying the sake..." Koyuki just beamed, pleased that it was going so well. She had tried to use one of her housemates to help her but he detested it, saying it was impure of nature or something like that....needless to say she'd been hesitant to find another to practice with.
"Yes, I do. It is a calling, something I cannot ignore....no matter how foolish it sounds." Looking at her paws for a moment, she returned her gaze to his. "It is a tradition that even though there isn't someone forcing me, I would be going against my soul otherwise. A geisha's greatest honor is to be hired, for usually all Geisha's have to pay off a debt to be trained and clothed and homed. This would have been my case as well, but its not...yet I still feel I should save to one day pay off the debt of whomever blessed me with these clothes, and my mother for giving me the sake set and various books to teach myself."
As much as she loved her Okaasan, she would hold true with her honor. "Since you do not know much about Geisha's....all those who take the profession of Geisha work towards one thing. To get a Danna. A danna is a wealthy patron who basically pays the debt of the geisha, and in essence she becomes his. It is a little different now a days, but its still something we dream about but few obtain." She chuckled, leanding back in her chair. "Its a bit...confusing for those who haven't been introduced to the culture. I do hope I am not boring you.."

Jerome smiled. "Far from it. It's very nice to learn about a new culture, especially one that you never even knew existed." He said as his gaze drifted to his cup. He wanted to take another drink, but decided to refrain from it as he was already full of crazy ideas.
"So, were do you stand on your training? Are you close or do you still have more to learn?" he inquired while he fidgeted and readjusted his tail angle.

Ah! A worldy fellow, most excellent. She enjoyed those who's hunger for learning new things rivaled her own.
"Ah....well...I do have a lot to learn. My english is pretty down pat asides from slang, I have read lots during my time here and feel I know enough to get me through most conversations...I can dance fairly well...but I have not even begun on any instrument. Nor have I actually tried to officially entertain someone other than my mother...so I guess i'm a little more than half way there?" She offered with a gentle shrug of her shoulders. Taking her own cup she finished her glass off, holding her alcohol was another bit of training she was working on slowly but was doing very well with.
"I take it you are not from around here then? Most seem to know some of my culture, or does your profession as a soldier take you far away?"

Jerome didn't want to dwelve to deeply in his own personal problems. He had already had enough of that, yet it would have been rude not to answer her question. "A combination of both really. Usually I'm on a ship in outer space training for the next battle." he said while he stared at her cup, completely shocked that she downed the Sake quickly.
"Well, I don't know much, but if you ever need the help, please feel free to come and ask. I don't know if I'd be able to help you in your training or hinder you, but hell, it's worth the try right?" he smirked as he picked up his cup and finished the remainder of his drink, licking his lips once more.

"Outer Space!?" Koyuki nearly yelled, but caught herself in the nick of time to simply sound shocked in an inside voice. She couldn't imagine flying up amongst the stars, she loved to stargaze at night but to actually be in space?? "That must be amazing, while im sure there are a lot of downfalls, I can say I envy you on at least that level. I'd never be strong enough to be a soldier." she smiled, sensing a bit of a hesitancy in his voice about the subject since it was what she was trained to pick up on.
"You don't need to know anything to help. The best help is that you just be yourself, since if everyone was the same I wouldn't get much experience. Thank you though, Jerome. I'll gladly take you up on that offer anyday." At least she wouldn't need to pester Trovalius anymore, the crankly guy he was.
"Now usually it would be customary to pour you another cup without asking, since otherwise our cue to stop would be you get up and leave....but i'll break protocol once. May I pour you another cup, Jerome? " She inquired, taking the flute with her paws and waiting for a reply.

He chuckled. "Of course. I have no intentions of leaving. This is far too interesting an opportunity to pass up" he said as he handed her his cup. While he waited and thought of her comments of space. In his opinion, along with every other Spartan's, space was the worst place to be. So helpless and vunerable to an attack. He shuddered at the thought and quickly dismissed it from his thoughts.
"Well that's comforting to know. Not often I get told to be myself. Rather a pleasureable change of pace I must say" he spoke again. Afterwards he thought maybe it was a good thing he was marooned here for 10 years

Nodding her head gently, she gingerly poured the sake into the cup while he held it; taking the opportinuty to practice maintaining her form. It was a bit different from it being firmly on the table, but she figured his hands would be steady from holding a weapon. Afterwards she poured her own cup and set the flute back down.
"I mean not to intrude...but since you are here does this mean there are no wars out there?" She had never seen the face of war before, but she going gain a sliver of an idea from the scars on his face; the hardened and thinned spots of fur and the offset in his brow from a bleak look. While like a naive twit she could say she read about previous wars, ideals on wars, tactics and personal stories....but she's never know war.
And she hoped she never would.
"I wouldn't imagine with your profession. Yet I am no stranger to it as well, Geisha's are trained to be similar, but one must develop their own special something or else it makes them no more desireable than the next geisha. I assume it is the team mentality...a bunch of souls acting as one. I can't say i've met a fair share of Spartans, but you are unique." Koyuki smiled thoughtfully, taking a sip of the sake before returning the cup to the table.

He brought his attention and focus back to her gaze. "Thank you. Again, not often I hear that." he smiled as he took yet another sip, still feeling about as normal as he can.
"War, well that's a bit of a controversial subject. Yes there probably is a war out there, just not on the intergalactic scale I was trained for. Besides if there was one I'm outdated. They would leave me and my team here even if the Covenant rose to cause s**t all over again" He explained sternfully. He sighed and placed the cup down on the table and licked his lips once more. "It's a rather troubling matter to have no contact with anyone, but I suppose that doesn't matter now does it?" he said with a quick wink.
"And don't worry. I'm sure that when you reach Geisha, then you'd stand out from everyone else and shine on top of your pedistal" the Spartan said as he scratched his forehead.

Tilting her head as she listened and tried to process each word, she became even more puzzled...not on what he meant but by something he said.
"So you and your...team are who they bring in when things get really bad. Like the calvary?" Perhaps she was wrong, but she'd read that word and it seemed to fit. "Out...dated? Why is that? You seem to be fine to me!" while they'd just met, she could see nothing wrong with the fox before her. Why would they leave a soldier, or even a whole team behind? It just made no sense as it went against all she read.
"Ah....well, I suppose..." A bit caught off guard she quickly busied herself with taking another, longer drink of her sake while trying to think. Setting it back down she continued.
"I do hope...although I know its not a forever profession, one needs to make the most of what they have, yes? It seems it can all be gone in the blink of an eye." While she still had her youth, who knew what could happen between now and old age. It wasn't like she was immortal or anything!

The Spartan stared at the wall behind her for a while, trying to word things correctly. "All Spartans are...well. I wouldn't know how to describe it. I guess if there was a fight that was too tough for normal marines and ODSTs, then we step in and win the fight." He took a sip from his cup as he thought over his words and figured they were accurate enough
"I am considered a slightly outdated version of a Spartan. Although I'm still a Spartan II, I have older armor, older training, and older weapons. Hence forth, outdated." he said as he rolled his eyes then smiled. Even though he didn't like it, there wasn't much he could do about the term and so he had learned to accept it.
"Well, get what you can while your young and maybe when you've gotten where you needed to, you can settle down and be comfortable with what you've done. Right?" he said as he put his cup down again and briefly examined his helmet for whatever reason

While she might have not known the extent of what made Spartans, well, spartans...but she knew he had to be made of something amazing to have that kind of ability, outdated or not.
"A Geisha is always a Geisha. Even if she ages, even if she doesn't practice the art anymore...it is what she is. It might not mean much...but in my eyes, one can never be outdated. It isn't the kimono and the makeup which makes me a geisha, thus I think it carries over to include armor and such." Making her own wink, the vixen tilted her head with a little laugh, maybe she too was outdated in her thinking...but best just keep that to herself.
"No regrets, life is too short." Koyuki mused thoughtfully, bringing her drink back to take a sip. "So you mentioned a team is also here. How many came? I appologise if its my literal understanding of english, but by 'my team' does that mean you are the leader?" Koyuki wouldn't doubt it if he was the leader, he seemed to hold the stature of one be it in his concerns and more calm nature.

"Well I guess when you put it in that perspective, then yes. I probably am the same as other Spartans. But that still doesn't explain why I was stranded here for no reason" he said doing a quick gaze to the ceiling, mentally cursing ONI for everything they've done.
"Yes you are correct. I am a leader of Red team. All Spartan teams consist of 3 members, and seeing as there are alot of Spartans, being the leader of a team really doesn't mean much. Sadly, I haven't had much contact with either of the 2. I fear they have moved on without me." he sighed as he took another sip of his drink, soon draining what he had left.

"Maybe...its one big conspiracy!" Koyuki laughed, waving her paw appologetically. "I kid...perhaps you have a bigger purpose here, you know, like fate. I've heard the universe works in mysterious ways." without asking this time she stood and poured him another cup before returning to sit.
"Really...so I take it this is more like....a vacation than a mission." Perhaps she might have seen one of them in the shop...she'd caught glimps of one or two but only had spoken to one before and he was young. She felt saddened for the Spartan...she'd read soldiers often considered each other like family since it was all they have. While Koyuki had her mother, she really has no one else...she'd been a bit of an outcast her entire life thus far. Kids could be cruel, though.
"It may not be my buisness, Jerome...but if you think they have moved on, why don't you as well? If it seems you are stuck here, why not make what you can out of it?" She set down her cup, and looked him in the eyes. "Its like you said...if you don't get to where you need to, how will you ever look back and be satisfied with what you've done?" She smiled warmly, "Im sure if you get moving, you'll catch up to your team in no time."

Jerome sighed, knowing that the Sake was starting to toy with his emotions, he thought it be best if he drank what he had, and no more. "I've tried moving on, but everytime I do..something stops me. I don't know if it's just some inner fear of letting go or if it's my pain in the a** AI. Either way, I have tried." He paused to take a drink of the still delicious sake.
" To be honest, I'm still very young by Spartan standards, and already I have done more than most others could accomplish. Still it wouldn't explain why they would ditch me here with nothing but my armor, a broken pod, and my team. Ah well. Thanks for the advice anyway." He said as he downed the remainder of his drink. "I don't need anymore. I still have to act 'professional' and it's be aweful if I actually managed to get into a fight and do nothing of it." He paused and pondered what he would do now. "But..i can still stay..if of course with your permission Ma'am." mentally slaps himself for suddenly reverting to formality
