Mari laughed loudly at the action, taking her hand back and wiping it on her skirt absently. Her hand was not the weirdest thing a stranger had licked upon her first meeting. " Since you don't know what it is, I'm going to assume you're not. But a cannibal is a human who eats other humans."
((Pffft. Lulz to the max.))

"What is human? Mari, are you human?" Corvus questioned, watching her wipe her hand against the fabric of her skirt. He let out an inaudible sigh, turning his gaze back to her.
[[That was hilarious.]]

Mari paused for a moment, a frown forming visibly on her face. She had met with some interesting folk before who played coy to the point of being annoying, but this was... Totally and completely different.
"Why don't you tell me what you think a human is. And if you think I'm one." She smiled as sweetly as normal, folding her hands behind her back.
((Especially considering they confused everyone's gender multiple times.))

"Human. This is an English word to refer to all members of the genus "Homo"?" Corvus asked after a moment of silence passed. "Mari, I can assume, is human," he spoke quietly, beginning to pace slowly around her. "Not like those humans I saw before," he continued, folding his hands, his index fingers at points at his lips. "Mari is a human, who looks almost as beautiful as a star."
[[REALLY! That's what I was confused about. XD]]

Mari straightened considerably when he began to circle her, but seemed nonplussed by the action. "More or less, yes. There are some variations when it comes to cavemen, but they are all human." She paused for a moment, considering his statements. "What other humans? And a star? Like who? A movie star? I do love movies!"
((It was the worst attempt at godmodding/ trolling ever. If you're going to troll, make it FUNNY. XD ))

"Other humans. Those who... kept me from Andromeda. Regardless of the type, humans seem to be the same, more or less. Except Mari, of course, who could nearly pass for a star. A brilliant, sparkling star, bright among such a cold backdrop. Almost as bright as Andromeda and I," Corvus spoke awkwardly, his tone stiff and unaffected.

Mari's nose scrunched at this information, still completely unsure what he was talking about or even who he was speaking of! It all seemed like the random speech of a madman until a sudden thought popped into her brain and she had the hold her hand from smacking her forehead.
"You're not human!!" She cried with excitement, incredulous to the fact that it had taken so long for her to remember there were others than mere mortals residing in The Underground. She had meet with a few of various kinds before, but none so... Nonhuman. His speech was so stilted, as though he were just trying to get the cadence right. Or maybe he was still learning common monikers for things? Mari would have to remember to keep her own speech free of any slang she could!
"Is um... Andromeda? Are they like you too?" She asked with a smile, proud that she had figured out the puzzle. It would not do to address her own sparkliness at the moment, for it wasn't such a grand concern. To Mari, it was a simple kindness.

Corvus watched the varying expressions cross Mari's face with mild interest, trying his hand at mocking the smile she offered. "Andromeda, yes. She is much of a star, too," he spoke awkwardly, using a hand to touch Mari's cascade of haphazard curls and locks. "Right now, she is looking for a place for... rest? To keep objects, and selves when we are not out. A-a-abode?" he stuttered with uncertainty.

Instantly Mari was interested in everything this strange man had to say, simply because he was different. If Mari was stuck being human, she could at least live vicariously through the stories of other non-humans!
"Yes! An abode! A home, like an apartment, a loft or even a house!" She rocked on her heels a little, excited to be helpful. "You must have just arrived to The Underground if your speech is still so uncertain..." She said, though it was lower in pitch and mostly to herself. But to Corvus she continued, "Are you looking for a place too?" Without much thinking of it, Mari titled her into his touch, forgetting completely that he was virtually a stranger.

The man's eyes widened a bit at her head's movement, and he slipped his fingers even deeper into the mess of hair, his fingertips grazing over her scalp. "She will find a place for us, together, maybe. If not then I will have forced to be outside for the night," he spoke in his usual monotone voice, but this time it came out distractedly. Just what was this stuff his hand was entangled in? This seemed more important to him.
