Val was not expecting De to try one last ditch attempt to tag her so when his paw taped her on her hip she was surprised. She was smiling by the time she had gotten her self stopped and turned. It was a good game but she was ready to stop so when she saw De sitting down then flopping over on his side she gave a silent sight of relief over not having to run anymore.
"Oh yes its fun every now and then but a good game of tag always tires me out" She slowly walked over to De and collapsed next to him. While he was stretching Val started to watch the clouds again. This time she noticed that the morning was over and it was afternoon, "I guess time flies when your having fun." she said softly.
Yawning Val decided to roll over and see what De was doing but when she rolled towards him she landed right next to him, so close that she could feel his body heat. "Oh sorry," she said as she shifted just enough to give him space. Something in her was oddly sad that she moved but Val didn't know what that something was so she tried to ignore it.

"O green world, don't desert me now~" He murmured in a soft sing song voice waiting for the lioness to wander back over. He raised his head a little when she flopped over near him and grinned silly at her, "I suppose it does, ye din't have to be anywhere t'day, huh, no cubs to get home too or nuffin?" He asked a bit warily, almost forgetting that he was planning on finding his own way home again today, his cheetah friends not completely forgotten, just, sorta slipped his mind for the time.
He lay panting for a little bit, not even really noticing that she'd rolled so close until he looked up again and saw her up close, and saw the little bits of grass stuck to their fur from all the running and rolling around they had done. He laughed and leaned over licking her face to catch a few of the stray bits and then turned his head to spit them out, not knowing if these were dangerous plants or not and yet another question spilled from his maw, "So how d'ye tell the dangerous stuff from the other stuff anyway?" The lioness had saved his life after all, she must know a secret, or maybe she was just very smart. While he couldn't hope to be that smart himself, so long as he could learn enough to keep his own skin safe, he be doing good.

"Nope. No home, no mate, no cubs," She paused and with sad eyes turned towards the clouds, said what was deep in her heart, "no family to go back to. Not really." Val was a solitary goddess. She had left Haven when she was still a young god and had not returned since. Most of her memories of the gods' paradise were foggy and unclear. Val retained very little memory of any of the gods. They were more like passing feelings and ideas rather then any actual memories. She pulled her mind away from her lack of anyone to go back to and turned her attention back to De. "How about you? Anyone special that's missing you?"
Val didn't move when De leaned closer and closer. She just stared at him while her heart seemed to go into the stratosphere. When his tongue rasped against her green cheek she had the odd urge to return the favor. So when the leopard spit out little bits of grass that he had cleaned off her face she was oddly disappointed. "What? Oh, um," she pulled her mind back from where ever it was and tuned into his question. "well really, I guess, its more learning it then anything." Val had to think about the best way to phrase what she wanted to say since she really didn't want to give away the fact that she knew all this by being the god of herb lore. "It's a lot to know but then again most only deal with what is local for them."

"Oh, 'M sorry, didn't mean ta pry like that." His gaze was apologetic but he didn't turn away, "I got, well a friend or two, and his little one tha' I look after for him, when he and his lady spend time, well, doin wotever it is they do." De wasn't clear really on the point, "Lil cheetah cub," -heh- "quick little terror, but she's a good quite kid. Uh, been a long while here though since I seen them. I din' really think they're missing me, bot maybe my services."
After getting the grass bits off her face he stayed close, she'd not threatened him once, not really, since they met, so he trusted Val easily enough. He listened and his face fell a bit, remembering important things like that ... wasn't really his strong suit. "That's ..." He put his face down onto his big paws, "Tha' sucks ... -" !!! He lifted his head again and apologized, "I don't mean to put down something you seem to like, er, at least, know a lot about, saved my life after all." He shook his head, "I just mean, for me, I don't know that I could remember it all, and it just makes me feel -unsafe- t'know that even plants could kill me. If I'm not careful wiff em, powerful stuff." He glanced around almost nervously, as if worried that the plants were going to sneak up on him at any moment, though he wasn't even sure anymore what the original offending plant looked like.

"Its ok, you asked but I didn't have to answer." Val smile this time with genuine happiness. "I'm glad you have friends even if you are a glorified babysitter. Besides I'm sure that he really doesn't see you that way."
Val watched him with curiously in her eyes until he said that it sucked since he wasn't very good at remembering that much. The goddess felt a twinge of guilt over this, she didn't mean to give him the impression that everything was dangerous. "Oh, De, um Tu'de." She corrected herself and called him by the nickname he gave her, it wasn't her place to call him anything else but that. "I'm sorry that I worried you. The truth is that while a lot of plants have uses very few are dangerous when eaten. A few are helpful in fact." She mentally stopped herself from giving examples since he really didn't need to know and once she got started she might forget what the point of the examples were. "Most are just harmless, it was just that one plant that you should keep an eye out for."
When a idea struck her she couldn't help but blush slightly and look away with shyness. Because De seemed really worried she felt she had to at least voice her idea. "If you want I could stick around and, um, point out some useful common herbs and plants and the like."

Tu'de shook his head, "'E probably does, bot I can't seem to mind it to much... So ye don't got any other friends, or anyfin?" He asked, counting himself among them already, and why not, smart friends were always good to have after all.
"De's fine too." He breathed after listening further and liking the idea a whole lot, "Ye would? Really? I mean, ye wouldn't mind? Th' thin' is, I dun' even remember th' one from before already... It's no tha' ye worried me, 'M already okay wiff it, jus' I didn't fink that green growing fings was a danger, so it's good to know, hey?" His expression lighten and he smiled at her, it could have been charming but it wasn't really intentional that it ended up that way, her own blushing shyness went right over his head.
"I'll pay ye back somehow, fer yer kindness n' lesson. Even if it takes me a few tries I can catch, ya lunch, er dinner, how do ya say?"

"Not really, I move around to much for me to really have friends." Val watched the clouds glide by slowly. "I mean I've met lots others but I don't really stick around long enough to make friends." A image of a large green lion made her correct that statement, "Well there might be one or two who might be counted as friends. But I haven't seen him in a long while." Thinking of Mito who she had met when she had not quite grown to an adult.
Val smiled at De, "It's fine, really. It will be like a holiday, only a bit of work with some fun. No one can fault me for teaching you while we relax and play around." She realized that she was being kind of forward since she didn't really know what they would do during this 'holiday' or even how long it would last.
"Thats fine really, its not all that difficult for me to catch my own dinner. I'll tell you what though we could go hunting together." Val got to her feet but waited to see if De would be willing to hunt with her.
