Pippin followed Cody like a loyal little puppy over to the next game, looking around as he did so to get a good feel of the place. When he heard the word 'dance' he froze for a minute, a tad bit frightened at the prospect of making a fool of himself in front of a spawn as cool as Cody. He loosened up a bit though, when Cody showed that he wasn't very good with the game either. He wasn't totally sure what 'hand-feet coordination' was, but if Cody didn't have it he was pretty sure he wouldn't either. But, oh well. He was going to try it now it looked like.
"So just step on those thingies? With the stuff on the screen?" he asked, pointing to each object as he described it. Well, it didn't sound all that hard, maybe it wouldn't be quite as bad as he thought. Either that or his headwings would tip him off of balance and he'd fall right on his little butt.
However, he had already agreed to try out the game with the other. And after all, what was the worst that could happen, they'd both fall? That might not be so bad.

Cody nodded, choosing Beginner as both of their difficulties. Hey, why should the kid be any better than him during his first time anyways? "Yeah, basically. The bar behind you helps if you feel like you're gonna fall," he continued, backing up a little.
"You choose the song. Just click the arrows till you find one you like." Not like it mattered; they were both royally screwed no matter the song. Ah well, it wasted time and it was somewhat fun... when you didn't fall or look like an utter looser. Or get pwned by a two year old.
That in and of itself was a blow to anyone's pride, no matter who they were.

Pippin nodded his head gently, showing Cody he had been paying attention the the directions and suggestions. He placed his foot neatly on the square, which lit up on contact and changed the song. This time it was a terribly fast sounding song which intimidated the young boy, causing him to change it quicky and roam through the selections.
Finally, he ended up at something peppy, but not terribly girly (though he had wanted to perform 'Butterfly' because he thought it was pretty). He clicked the button and the game announced the start, counting down until arrows started to pop up. At first Pip missed every single one, getting his footing and timing wrong. After a bit though, he managed to get one right, missed a few, then got another. It was quite exciting.
"I'm kinda doin' it!" he said, though he missed 99% of the arrows. Those ones he hit though, he was so proud.

Cody, unfortunately, wasn't much better. He got a good chunk of them, but only as "Good"'s and a single perfect. Guess patience really didn't mean one would be good at DDR. Oh well, it wasn't like he cared too much.
"Awesome. My turn to pick the song," he replied once the song ended, glaring at the screen as it flashed up "D"'s for both of them. Oh well, better than an E which meant they had completely and utterly failed. Clicking through the various songs, he stopped at a slightly slower song despite what the name said; Speed over Beethoven. It was one of Aenira's favorites, mostly because of the many jumps it had on the higher levels. Thankfully there weren't quite as many on Beginner.
(( biggrin I lurve that song~<3))

Pippin felt rather satisfied, recognizing the letter and realizing it wasn't too far down the alphabet. That had to be fairly good, right?
He had watched as Cody scrolled through the songs, sometimes going so fast he couldn't even recognize the letters! Finally the other spawn had settled on a song, and the young boy had to admit he was rather fond of it. "I like this one." he said as the preview finished up and the starting screen came on.
He began to ready himself, bouncing up and down with the tune before the whole process started over again, "Woah!" he said, nearly tripping over his feet. At least Cody wasn't a beast at it or anything, he didn't feel as bad.

Cody just laughed as Pippin got into the song long before the arrows actually popped up. He couldn't help it, the poor soul was just too... cute? Eh, whatever, the kid wasn't half bad for being half humility.
His laughter was cut short as the arrows popped up and he was forced to concentrate on stepping on them at the right time. Gah, the song was a lot more difficult than he thought. Hopefully he hadn't-No, he hadn't switched the difficulty... Oh whatever, no time to think. He couldn't fall, lest he looked more like a moron than he already did.

The little boy had wide eyes, the song had a great beat but it was a little bit quick. He did his best though, hitting a good amount of the arrows for his age though being so young he began to get a little bit tired. "T-this one's reawwy fast!" he said, feeling his legs slow down a bit as he quit hitting as many arrows.
The boy looked over at Cod for a minute, seeing how the other was doing compared to him. Well, at least he didn't feel quite so bad anymore, it wasn't like Cody was getting all perfects or anything.

Cody wasn't doing any better, if not slightly worse. He rarely got anything above a Good but hit far more of the arrows since he had longer legs and could hit more of the arrows with less of the effort. That didn't mean he was any better than Pippin.
"Huh? Yeah, sorta. There's faster ones, but I... Let's just say I can't get more than four of the arrows and they're usually ones I get from pure luck," he replied, leaning back against the bar as the song finally came to the end and revealed their scores with Pippin actually BEATING him. What the hell was with kids BEATING him at this game? Laaaame.

Pippin tilted his head to the side, seeing Cody gaze at the screen, "What's wrong?" he asked, obviously not having noticed that his score was just a little bit higher than Cody's.
"I like this game, it's reawwy fun. Thanks fer lettin' me play with you." the boy said politely. He really was enjoying himself, even if he wasn't super good. It was cool hanging out with someone and awesomely cool as Cody, even though he was jealous because he wasn't that cool.
Maybe he could work at it, and learn to be as cool as him, he really hoped so. But he was a bit more nerdy, especially with his big glasses. "Cody, yer reawwy cool." he admitted, slightly wondering what had happened to his mother.

Cody merely shrugged at Pippin's question before straightening. "Hm? Ah, it's no trouble, glad you had fun," he replied, flashing the boy a rare smile. Well, nowadays was rare anyways. Stepping down from the game platform, his wings fluttered slightly by the faint breeze.
"Huh? Me cool? If you think that then I suppose I am, but you're pretty cool too," he added, suddenly wondering the same thing. His mum rarely let him out of her sight when he was young, so why was this kid's mother nowhere to be seen? "Come on, let's go find your mum, getting late," he said, also knowing his mom might come looking for him if he wasn't home by dinner. That sounded scary, now that he thought about it.

Pippin's eyes were a bit wide at Cody's words, "I-I'm... cool?" he said, barely even able to comprehend the idea in his mind. He was such a nerd, nothing like Cody. He only wished he could be as cool as Cody. "T-Thanks!"
Perfectly timed Celi poked her head into the arcade, "Pippin honey, are you ready to-- Oh hello there! Have you been playing with my little boy? Thank you!" the woman said greatfully. "That's very sweet of you! I'm his mother, Celi. I'm sure you need to go home, so I'll take him of of your hands." she said, taking the hand of her young son.

Cody just nodded, extremely glad that his compliment hadn’t been rejected with the usual excuse that he wasn’t cool at all or that he was mistaken or perhaps even that Cody would always remain many, many, MANY times cooler than him. Perhaps Pippin’s angelic DNA parent didn’t have as much of an effect as some of the others did or as much as Cody’s demonic one…
“Hm? Oh, yeah, I have. Was no problem and yeah, I should get going before mum calls the police again… Bye Pippin,” he replied, trying as hard as he could to remain still and reduce the amount of chinking coming from his quarter-stuffed pockets. Parents usually tried to ruin his fun, so why should she be any different? Edging sheepishly towards the exit, blue-green eyes scanned the area. No security guards yet. Damn they sucked at guarding the machines if they STILL hadn’t noticed him.
