A snarl ripped from behind Soriens lips and she pounced on the picnic. Leaving a small wake of destruction behind her while she ate whole plates of food. Only once her hunger was finally satisfied did she think to offer Raanan anything. She kicked a small plate of what was left over to him. "Here.." Sorien had never been big on thank-yous and she figured allowing him to leave with his life was a big enough a thank-you from her but he had also slightly impressed her before and feeding her was no small task. This was the least she could do.

He blinked in surprise as he poked the plate. Then he munched a grape. "Thank you."

Sorien nodded in response. She took a long stretch and yawned. "So do you or dont you have a herd?" this was purely curiosity now.

"Maybe, maybe not," he shrugged dismissively, feeling the tension ease out of his muscles. His instincts were telling him he was out of immediate danger, which was good. "Depends, really, on how you define herd."

She raised her eyebrow. "The group you lead or follow." She didnt peg him for a leader though but in this strange land nothing failed to surprise her. Raver had been leader for a time before her and that always struck her as odd. He was far to weak to be a proper leader.

"I'm more of a free agent," he shrugged dismissively. "I go where I want, do what I want. Anyone who follows me is responsible for themselves, and I don't take orders. Hence the herd but no herd thing. When it's convenient, I'll travel with a group. Doesn't happen often."

she paused a moment to consider this. "A ...free agent?" the concept was totally new to her. She was raised to believe you we either a leader or a follower. Life was dog eat dog. So where did a free agent fit in? Sorien was completely conflicted. "You dont want a herd? To be leader?"

"Herds nag," he shook his head. "They want to know everything. Where you going? What are you doing? Where'd that dagger come from? Annoying. Leading is too much bother. If someone can't take care of themselves, then why should I have to tell them what to do? Grow a brain and do it yourself."

This only confused her more. "But with a herd comes power!" She protested."You dont want power?" This would get him for sure. Everyone wants power.

Sorien cocked a skeptical eyebrow again. "If your a weak leader you deserve what ever you get. Power can not be held by the weak." Who was this pony? Sorien was utterly confused by all these absurd notions of being a "Free agent" and yet this pony intrigued her, no it was more more, she liked him. "It is true there are many responsibilities that come with leadership and power but to have power is better then to have nothing. To be a follower." she added.

"I see.." Sorien could see but one real flaw with this whole thing. "Dont you get bored after a while? With no underlings to entertain you and no rivals to crush the life out of.. dont you get bored?" She also noted to herself it may also get very lonely after a bit. Though she herself never admitted loneliness. It was weak.
