Calais looked at the tree, she hadn't really noticed that the holes were at different spots, but now it did seem to be true. "Oh that is pretty cool. So why couldn't you just find a hole and pull all your toys out of it?" she asked him. She was curious what else he could do too, maybe move like a squirrel or something. Calais raised her eyebrows and giggled at his desire for attention. She gave him applause for his benefit "very good!"

His puffed-out chest deflates a bit. "I've discovered that I have to know where I'm pulling it from to make it appear. So...I'm trying to develop like a...a spatial memory of where things are out here. I'll prolly be spending a lot of time out here in the forest for the next few days, weeks, however long it takes me to memorize the hollow trees." He shrugs.
"So, but yeah! What do you want to do now?" he asks. "We could go build a sandcastle, or just like...walk on the beach? Or is it still hard on your hooves?" he asks, teasing.

His deflated chest made her heart sink a little bit, she didn't mean to kill his ego. Calais would just have to fix that. "Oh I'm sure you'll be able to memorize the trees pretty quickly. You are a faun after-all." There maybe that would redeem her, she hoped. Calais frowned when he teased her about how she was on the sand. "Oh, we'll see who can't walk on the beach" she schemed, with plans to trip him up. "Lets head towards the beach."

"To the beach!" he agrees. He takes her hand and starts toward the same beach they'd built a sandcastle on so long ago. He takes her down by the surf, where the sand is packed tighter and doesn't disappear from under their hooves.
"It's such a nice day for a walk on the beach," he says.

Calais followed with him to the beach that was only vaguely familiar to her. It was the only beach she had ever been too, but still it had been so long. Turin was being so polite though she didn't really feel like being mean to him and tripping him, even if he had teased her. "It is a nice day" she agreed as she looked around the beach, not even noticing that they were holding hands as she swung her hand and his back and forth. "I wonder where my throne is..." there was no way it'd still be standing.

"Hm, it was right over there," he says, pointing with his free hand. Unlike Calais, he does realize they're still holding hands. But would he point it out and potentially have her draw away? Not a chance! He'd been cooped up too long with his mother and aunt. The contact with another Pae was nice. Especially one as pretty as Calais.
"Of course, the sea's long swept it away," he says. "We can make another, if you like." He'd rather keep walking and holding hands. It was almost romantic.

Calais looked over at him and stared at him in disbelief. "Are you just saying it was there?" she asked him wondering if he had just made up some random spot or really knew where it had been. "If you know where that is then you should have no problem memorizing the forest, or even the entire island really..." was that part of his power? "Making another one..." were they too old? "Maybe, I won't put you to work just yet" she laughed. She did remember vividly making him do most of the work and only appearing to be helping.

"Well, I don't really know, I remember we walked about this far, but our legs were shorter then," he concedes. "So I could be wrong. I've been wrong once before," he says with another winning smile.
"Oh good," he says in regards to making another sandcastle. "Because I'm really enjoying our walk." He takes a chance and squeezes her hand gently.

"Only once before?" Calais questioned him. This boy was sure full of something, but she smiled back at him. Calais glanced down at her hand, feeling pressure that brought her out of her obliviousness. Her golden skin gained a pink hue, and she wondered how long it had been like this. What if she had been giving him the wrong impression or something. "I'm enjoying the walk too" Calais finally said.

"Yep. Just once." He smiles over at her. "I ran away to dinner when I should've stayed with my new friend. My only friend...." It's his turn to blush a little bit now. "I didn't mean to...I mean, I didn't think it'd be this long until I saw you again. I guess I figured you'd still be there waiting when I was done with dinner. You know little boys....in their mind, the world revolves around them."

Calais smiled warmly "Aww its not like you could've helped that. I probably would've had to go to dinner eventually and we both would have gotten in trouble if we never came home." She laughed lightly and brushed back her bangs with her free hand since the ocean breeze had been whipping them all over the place. "I thought the world revolved around me too."

"Still, I feel bad about it," he says. "Augh," he sighs. "I'm so glad you found me again! It's so nice to have a friend!" He bounces back and forth briefly, alternating his hops from one hoof to another. "I missed you, C-c-c-c-calais."

Calais glared at him when he made fun of her stuttering and she slipped her hand away from his. "You just lost a friend." She said flatly. She turned away from him, facing the water and smiled as she quickly whisked back around and pushed him towards a sand pile.

"Calais, I--oof!" he exclaims as he hits the sand pile. He turns around to see her expression, desperately hoping she'd been teasing him. He hadn't meant to make fun of her, only tease her a little bit. He catches a glimpse of her smile and starts to smile again himself. "Sorry," he apologizes anyway. "I was only teasing." He starts to stand up.

Calais bit her lip as she watched him hit the sand pile, now watching him smile at her with a hesitant smile. "It's alright" she told him, "I was just playing too." She offered him her hand to help him up. "Are you alright?" she asked him, pushing him into the sand wasn't exactly the nicest form of teasing.
