Nyx tried to doge the attack, but got hit hard, and it showed slightly after he stood up. It was getting into the main part of the battle, and someone was soon to tire, Catty just hoped it would be Chewy.
"One more hypnosis, Nyx!"
Nyx attempted the same swaying motion with his tail in hopes to catch the poochyena in his spell.525/800

Chewy rolled upright, recovering from his rock smash, when the swaying of Meowth's tail caught his eye. Again his head started following it back and forth, back and forth...
Alice tried again to clap and bring her partner out of it, but the loud clapping sound landed on deaf ears. Chewy was out cold.

Catty's eyes widened as the pokemon fell into a slumber, and couldn't believe her luck. According to the books she read, this was a prime time to attack and work to ware the opponent down, and that was just what she was going to do.
"Great job Nyx! Let's try a scratch!"
Nyx meandered up to where Chewy was down, before pulling out his claws again and scratching the slumbering pokemon.525/800

"Chewy! WAKE UP!" Alice bombarded the slumbering hound with loud yelling, clapping, and whistling. She was making quite a scene, and would later be very glad that no one was watching this battle.
Chewy was fast asleep and snored loudly through the scratches the meowth was delivering to him.

The girl felt bad for the pokemon, but had to remind herself that this was all a part of the battle and would be something she would face in the future. So, she kept on going, her eyes slightly closed and her lip between her teeth.

"WAKE UP!" Alice flailed her arms around and made more and more noise, but Chewy just kept snoring through the scratching... Those were going to hurt later tho...

Alice let out a frustrated sound like the mix between a growl and a yell.
Chewy's ear twitched... What was that noise? Why was his fur sticking up? What was that strange... OW! Those hurt! Chewy moved his paws, trying to wake up so he could lick those scratches that were stinging more and more.

That last scratch did it, Chewy was fully awake and jumped to his feet barking at the cat pokemon. OW OW OW!
Alice grinned, glad that Chewy was awake, but it faded rather quickly... he probably wasn't going to last much longer, asleep or not.
"Chewy! Rock smash, one more time!" Alice gave a short whistle and one long whistle after the command.
Chewy bounded off the ground and threw his body at the Meowth.

Chewy rolled back upright after his attack and then saw Nyx's claws lashing out in retaliation at him. He twisted his body clumsily out of the way; Not the most beautiful evasion ever, but a dodge was a dodge.
Alice's eyes went wide. Missed... the cat missed. Yes! Maybe they still had a chance.
"Rock smash, one more time!"
Chewy rolled his eyes, his side was starting to hurt after all this landing he'd been doing. Cats weren't exactly very good for breaking a fall... and his scratches were REALLY painful. He hefted himself up and threw himself at Nyx one more time. This was it.

Catty was at a loss, she knew that with one hit, this was over, but somehow Nyx missed. Letting out a soft sigh, she saw how tired he was after the hit, he could hardly stand. So, she did all she could, and yelled out, "Come on Nyx, one last shot...we can do this...one last Scratch!"75/800

Claws raked across Chewy one last time. He tried to get his feet under him and stand... if he could just get up he could win... He got one paw under him and started to lift himself up, when his strength gave out and he collapsed and stayed down.
Alice sighed, disappointed. If only she hadn't gone so easy at the start... Oh well... Hindsight.
"Good job, Chewy... Return." The unconscious Poochyena dissapeared into the pokeball in a beam of red light. Alice left her trainer square and started to walk over to the young girl and her Meowth.
