Val has a really wide back. It's kinda odd. Volks clothes are also heavy. I think everything they make is heavy. XD

I have no idea, but one of the coats from Volks that I have adds a lot of heft on to any of my dolls that wear it.

Wow, heated discussion and I've been dead. Oh well, anyway, OMG he's scary. Seriously, I like the girls, but I would actually pay for the boys and well...he looks like, as mentioned before, a Heath/Hound Hybrid and not a very good one at that. It's like they took to worst qualities of each one and amplified them buy 10...well the worst qualities of Heath, because Hound is perfect blaugh not ragging on Heath, because he's sort of charming in his own way, but he's not Hound and he is not El and he's not any other really hot doll that I have happened to fall in love with.
And I would have to say Heath was definately on top, or rather behind wink

Except, now that I really look at him, he could be worked on and fixed. If I could tan him, redo the face-up, add dozens of little scars and one really long one across his face and changed his wig and eyes...OMG he would look exactly like my character meant to be Costa's brother! Too bad I can't find the price, does anyone mind telling me?

It's odd, because everyone on DoA ADORES him, but I personally think he's disgusting. You know, maybe under a crapload of clothes, cause I do believe posability comes first before beauty, but all in all he's just odd. If you all go to the news post in doa they have more links and those go to the price and such. http://www.superdollfie.net/sd/shinsaku/index.html He is only like 26 inches tall, and to me, hiking up the price THAT much for an extra few inches is ridiculous.

Using current exchange rates, these prices translate to... SD13: 717.157 USD SD16: 1,089.35 USD
Over $300 more for 3 inches of height. And you KNOW he's hitting aftermarket at $1800 at LEAST. Actually, that'll probably be what Volks charges at the US store afterparty. They marked most of the SDs up to $700-900 when they're a fraction of that on their site.
So.. Maybe $1500 if we're lucky? Not that anybody really has a chance at getting it besides those that live in california...

26 inches?.... Yeah... it looks like they thinned him out also... That's the main thing I notice with the joint design. It almost looks like it's designed to use less resin. Maybe it's to do with stability? But Hound stands just fine... Provided he's strung properly anyway. But ALL dolls are pretty hard and near impossible to have standing if not strung properly...
I really don't know. I think the people that like him like how his head looks. Because I can see why some people might like the head. It IS a decent head... just... the body? no.

That's odd... Because I was at a DoA meetup, and when I mentioned him, everyone I talked to wasn't impressed.
Anyway, to be blunt, I think he's fugly, and that that price is outrageous. And 1800 is totally an understatement. My bet is that he'll be 2k starting price.

I think everyone on DoA just croons over everything to avoid being flamed/banned. I've never seen anyone talk badly about something unless someone important did it first.

I hate my dolls too look perfect, I guess I'm saying I like them to look a little strange. It makes them more realistic to me, something specific to admire. Kind of like humans.
Anyways. I admire his newness. I don't really like body blushes either, but I think his isn't too heavy. His lips seem rather large, but that's one of those imperfections I like.
I wonder how tall he is. I'm thinking he'd make a good companion for Seams.

ok, I must say I found him horrifyingly fugly from Volks pics... I could barely stand the thought of opening the Y!J links, but I did, y'know just too see if he looked different in real pics, OMFG HE DOES! headshot and his body doesn't look too bad... I guess... anyways, I don't think hes as bad as we all thought he would be... maybe he is, but just like with Shizu's faceup(I thought it was the blandest thing since... cinderblocks?) but now I have her and love her to bits! anyways, its amazing what seeing some dolls either in owner/seller pics or IRL can do to your thoughts of them! ^__~
