Spanish did not sound fun, nor did Russian. As she approached the bench, the girl just stood there rather than sitting down. The benches were always so cold during winter that Yvette could easily catch a chill just by sitting on one. To be nice, she nodded her head gently as Elke suggested languages were fun classes. Her voice managed to interject for a moment at the mention of sewing and knitting.
"I actually spend most of my free time designing and sewing. I've had to lighten up on the actual sewing lately though because of all recent expenses with me returning home." There was a brief pause where a puff of a sigh escaped her chest. It was sad to think that she was causing her parents financial stress by "coming back to life."
"My mom taught me how to crochet. It is like knitting, but with one needle rather than two. And crocheting is usually a bit looser in comparison to knitting."
Beat.
"I could try to teach you if you wanted..."
The girl got quiet again, her cheeks very rosy thanks to the offer she had just extended to the blue haired girl. The sudden question about where Yvette was going received a simple shy nod. The public bus transportation system, any poor family's best friend.

Elke nodded slowly, listening carefully. Poor Yvette, it had to be stressful to not be able to do something you loved. She certainly missed her romance novels--they hadn't come back over from France yet, and Maman had thrown most of them out in an attempt to dissuade Elke's spirit from haunting them.
Gosh. Wonder where she got that idea?
"That'd be great, I'd love to learn to crochet," said Elke, smiling happily as she kicked her feet back and forth in the slush. Sure, her ankles were getting all wet, but you know, that was okay! It wasn't that long until she'd be at home in her dorm room. "Are you sure you have time? I don't want to impose..."

It was at that very moment that the bus pulled up to the stop. Yvette offered a quick nod to Elke before attempting to jam herself into the line to board the public transportation.
"Daddy is always saying how he wishes I brought more friends over to the house. It wouldn't be any trouble at all!" The girl was getting swept up closer and closer to the vehicle. It was one of those times she wished she could be like a normal teen and just hang out for a while longer.
"Th-thank you for the apple cake! I-i guess I'll talk to you later about the crocheting!" Of course, she was practically on the bus before she remembered that maybe she could have gotten Elke's phone number. That would have helped a whole lot, especially since Yvette finally had a cell phone to save it onto. The girl had to scuttle into a seat, and managed to locate one where she could sit near the window. Just before the bus left, she managed to locate Elke again, and offered a shy little wave with her free hand while the other one kept the apple cake tin firmly in her lap. Yvette hoped that Elke could see her as she offered her wave. There was always that little hint of doubt that ruined her kind gestures.
