"Haha! Then I would be the most feared in the swamp!" She chuckled at the suggested name and took a moment to picture said images in her mind.
"Oh no! I heard them kitties are sluggish in the mornings, something about going to sleep with a full belly, but I suppose if you scared it into fainting we should take precautions. Find a really long stick to poke it awake with, just to be safe, I would!"
When he playfully bit her horn and wiggled it, she just shut her eyes real tight and scrunched her face up until he was done, and then attacked his ear to gnaw on it play-viciously and even growled a little as if she were the mythical cat they were talking about.

Mourning Fog had just gotten into the thought of the two of them prodding an unconscious wildcat when he was attacked by Life-Pulse. Caught off-guard, he lurched back a little as she gnawed on his ear. Laughing now, he stood up and said, "So you wanna fight now, wildcat?" with a playful grin on his face. Water dripped from his almost-clean fur. Only faint patches of mud and blood were visible after having soaked in the pool for so long. The leech-bites could still be seen upon inspection, but the blood could easily be mistaken for his coloration at this point.
Growling ferociously, Mourning Fog forgot about his current state, and snapped viciously at Life-Pulse, but still wore a playful grin and chuckled with eat "bite".

"Maybe I do wanna fight!" She stands up too and semi-crouches into an 'attack' position and lets out a mighty roar and then leaps forward to joust his play-bites with ones of her own.
Water splashes up all around them, soaking them all anew, but the water was nice and the act had her all caught up so she didn't really notice, nor did she mind. Her eyes twinkled mischievously and she wore a grin of her own, growling here and roaring there.

Mourning Fog felt like a little foal again, play-fighting with another filly. He dodged and parried, ducked and jumped. Bouncing around, he spun around behind her and nipped at her tail, flicking his own in excited play. Several times, he almost slipped on the smooth stone he was resting upon, but managed to stay on foot. The question was raised in his head: Who would win the fight? He grinned and stepped from side to side as he still tried to grab a hold of her tail, as if that would signify his victory.

She mimicked his dance, weaving in and out of lunges and 'strikes', laughing and making funny faces along the way. Her stance could speak of terrifying agility, but when watching her movements, it was obvious that it was sheer chance that this doe was still upright and had not yet fallen on her face.
Her competitor made lunges for her tail and she realized his game soon enough. So while making ga-ga eyes at the handsome pink buck, Life-Pulse was readying herself to make her move. After a moment's hesitation she pounced forward, trying to snap up Mourning Fog's tail and claim victory.

What a worthy opponent! Mourning Fog danced back and forth. He still could not catch her tail! But when he caught the doe making eyes at him he froze. How adorable she loo-awww. And there was his tail in the mouth of his opponent. He flicked it anyways, though it was stuck between her jaws.
Smiling he moved closer, "Well it seems the wildcat bested me in the end. I suppose this means I'll leave the heroism to you?" he chuckled. Then he leaned in to nuzzle her glowing cheek. His soft breath brushed against her after their playful exertion.

She jerked a little when he flicked his tail, but she just grinned, tail in her mouth. She had won! Not that it mattered, it had all been in good fun anyway, but she brandished his tail her trophy for a few more moments before relinquishing it.
His nuzzle soothed her and calmed her down after that play-session. She returned the affection, leaving a quick lick on his cheek then tilted her head up a little to whisper into his ear, "Don't worry, love. I'll keep you safe," her voice infused with laughter and a sense of caring.
Now that she had stilled her body, she could feel her heart beating madly. She took a half-pace closer and pressed her chest up against his, adding his heart-beat to hers, and within a few seconds, the two were beating in sync, one softer, the other louder, but two hearts were one, for a few moments in time.

Mourning Fog's tail swept the ground lightly and then was still as was his breath. The lick on his cheek sent his heart skipping beats but as soon as she pressed hers against his, his heart calmed. No other doe could affect him in such a way. Sure there were plenty of pretty does in the swamp, but only Life-Pulse could control the beat of his heart.
Finished :]
