Right now I own every console the wii, xbox360, and the ps3 and the consoles before those i love colecting consoles well i have to say that the best console is the Nintendo 64 why because no matter what you do to it it always works and it did release a lot of the best games out there.

besides that if you want to know my opinion on the new consoles well they all have good things and bad things one thing i hate of the ps3 is the freaking downloas and updates you always have to do one for everything and another thing is the internet even tough its free to play online it kinda sucks

now the xbox 360 um im not a fan of the 360 but its much better playing online with this system even tough yo have to pay to be able to and thats not cool another, a good thing about it it has a lot of games and the prices droop fast so you can always get a good game cheap of course in the used section

and well for the wii you can hack it very easilly and you have every game you want that makes it awesome but the bad thing is it doesnt have awesome games crying

I own all three consoles, and I enjoy my 360 the best due to the high variety on games and the GREAT Xbox Live service.

Another massive plus the 360 has is backwards compatibility. But since I can't even think of an Xbox game that I'd like to play again that isn't already outdated or on Live Arcade it kind of loses that for me.

FABLE LOST CHAPTERS! ...or is that on the downloady thing?

Download.

Either way why play Fable:LC when you can play Fable II?

I never got how LIVE is better than PSN. Is there a specific reason or are people just saying that because they pay for it? Can someone explain?

I was hooked on the Wii, but I lost interest when my copy of SSBB stopped working. So I went to my PS3 and I've been on it ever since, but I do play a bit of PC every now and then.

Really because I usually have to wait about a minute for game updates to download and I don't mind having a day of the week for updates kind of like every thing else in the world.

360 or the Wii for different reasons. Wii for party-type games, and the 360 for pretty much everything else.

Honestly, none of the new systems have wowed me all too much, and 360 is a tad repulsive in my opinion. But I'm going to try to be as fair about this as possible, between this generation and the PS2, which I would vote as best all-around game console.

Game Selection: Wii: 7/10 360: 8/10 PS3: 8.2/10 PS2: 9.5/10

The Wii's near-entire franchise is built off of the control gimmick, and in some cases it works very well, and in others it doesn't. Being very hit/miss, but with some exceptional titles (MP3, Trauma Center, etc), and the addition of the Virtual Console, it earns itself a 7. The 360 and PS3 game selection are very very close because this generation has seen much more multi-platform games in the history of video games. So, combined with their respective exclusives, PS3 wins by a slight margin, with games like Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2 to back it up. Another marketing strategy that Sony is taking advantage of: Microsoft has been notorious for buying time-exclusive rights to a video game franchise, so only they can publish that game. Sony then buys those rights after the time-exclusivity is expired, and makes a new and improved version (Bioshock, Star Ocean: The Last Hope -International-, etc). However, the PS2 took its own generation by storm with a wide variety of games, the majority of which exclusive, that many gamers saw as must-plays, and still do (MGS3, Shadow of the Colossus, Persona 3). Correct me if I'm wrong, but it not only offered something for everyone, but it delivered it all efficiently.

Controls: Wii: 5.5/10 360: 5/10 PS3: 10/10 PS2: 9.8/10

Everything I said before about the Wii applies to this as well. Controls are very hit/miss, and work better sometimes than others. The 360 has no excuse though. The controller is much too bulky for most people, the buttons stick, and everything seems to have just too much grip, making everything very tense and rigid. It feels like I have to relearn the entire controller for every single game. The PS2, I'd say, had a beautifully designed controller, and easy-to-learn controls. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that controller, and everything felt natural and designed for the average human hand. All PS3 did was add onto that, with SixAxis and improved triggers, as well as wireless, making it an absolutely stellar controller unlike any other.

Online Play/Capabilities: Wii: 3/10 360: 7/10 PS3: 8.5/10 PS2: N/A

Considering that this is still budding technology, I was a little more lenient on these ratings. Obviously, the big controversy is between 360 and PS3. Coming from someone who has spent a lot of time comparing the two online capabilities using the exact same internet connection, there is no difference between the two. Neither gives more/less lag, they open up the exact same opportunities for online multiplayer, and both offer an online store with purchasable DLC. The two things that differ are 1) the buying process is a lot simpler on PSN, because instead of using a money-to-point system like on Xbox Live, it shows exactly how much money you're spending on the DLC. 2) People pay money to use Xbox Live. They are paying money out of their own pockets to use the exact same service PS3 users get for free, each and every month.

But, that's my tl;dr input. PS2 > PS3 > 360, and Wii is in a category of its own for sheer uniqueness.

I actually have to make that choice soon, and I think I'm going to go with the ps3. The main reason is because I heard you have to pay for xbox live and I am already stretching myself buying the council itself.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
SNES.

It was the first console I got my hands on and by far the one that will always stay with me throughout my life.

So far for the current gen I only have a Wii and like The Fearsome Weasel Man said, it's a hit or miss consel which is true it's got good games one moment and bad the next.

From the experiences I've had with the other two...I'm kind of in the middle, but from the games I've seen (which all are almost the game) PS3 seems more my kind of system, so I'll say PS3 for current gen.

Now as for older systems I just can't say for sure but my picks would be between the SNES, PS1, or PS2. Reason why is just becomes I've had too many fond and awesome gaming memories between those three.

The Super Nintendo will always be my favorite console.

I have been playing the 360 a lot, though.

Briefly had a PS3 while my brother lived in the household. Was nice.

Never played the 360 beyond store demos.

Own a Wii, wish it were a PS3 or 360 but its alright.

I've learned to love the PC, and not be a fangirl, I feel in many ways it allows for much more than the consoles do. Just my humble opinion.

I'd say the PS2 or PS3 would have to be my favorite console, but I don't know about the best.

That's what I thought too. But I hear you can find sales on it and, at most, it's around $50 for a year subscription. For some people that would make a good Christmas gift to receive. Buy one Sub. to start and then hoard a few dollars every month if you have to. PS3 is a good choice too though.
