Some do. But i do think D would be a very absent father for various reasons. Emotionally absent definately.
Kid would get a boo boo and D would just disinfect and bandage it. No kisses or comfort there. lol or worse he'd show the kid how to bandage it and then not care if the kid got minorly hurt.
"Here's a bandage, figure it out yourself!"

D with that cold calm look. "Its not a life threatening wound you'll be fine."
Little girl starts to sniffle and cry.
"No.. no dont do that either." D says his tone wavering, he cant stand to see children and women cry.
"But but... MOMMY! Daddy wont kiss my boo boo!" the girl shouts.
Mother from the other room. "Kiss your daughters boo boo!"
"..." D just looks at his child calmly.
