Alex had a chance to check the screen, since he was curious. He saw solitaire which he thought was odd. Either the teacher was really bored or he liked that game. All his thoughts of the game disappeared when he felt that cold touch against his hand. He thought it was weird that the man’s hand was so cold. It wasn’t that cold out. He thought to himself as he rubbed his hands together to make that feeling go away.
His head picked up hearing the teacher cough. Though he wasn’t concerned, the noise just distracted him. Though when his eyes were up he caught sight of Mr. Chase opening up a drawer and took a box out. Alex was curious of what the box could hold. It was obviously something edible since the man swallowed it. He shook his head and focused on what was in front of him. His camera and his notebook.
The notebook page became full with some doodles and more ideas for the project of his. He always could be caught doing a personal project. His camera was basically his life. The camera was pointed at Mr. Chase. ‘No I’d be noticed...’ Alex thought sadly. Then the bell rang signaling that lunch was over. He gathered up his notebook and carefully put the camera into his bag. “See ya Mr. Chase.” He said walking to the door. He was thinking of his schedule trying to remember what was next.

Victor sat back in his chair, glancing up, staring at the uncapped lens of the camera then slowly looked up at Alex. His looked back down at the camera, waiting to see if the boy was going to try to snap a photo. His finger wasn't on the shutter button. No... he wasn't going to take a picture. Not that anything would be wrong with the photo, he just didn't really like pictures being taken of him. The bell rang, the man's oddly rich and bright green eyes looked over his head at the clock. Good. "Bye." Victor said and watched as Alex walked out, his eyes slowly moving towards the teen's bottom, getting a good glance of it before the teen walked out of the room. From the beginning, Victor could tell that Alex was different... very different. He wasn't like almost every guy in the school. Involved with either sports or clubs. And the other guys at the school had many, many friends... Alex had none. For a normal human wouldn't be interested in Alex in any way. But Victor wasn't a 'normal human'. The boy intrigued him, made him wonder why he hadn't come across such a person in all his long life. Victor scoffed to himself and stood up, straitening his shirt just as the students began to walk in. He looked for anybody else like Alex, of course, finding none. They were all like clones almost. Again like in every other period, all the girls flirted with him. Looking back now, Victor finally realzied that giving up girls and going to guys really paid off now.

Alex gave a nod to the farewell that the teacher gave as he went into the hall. He had this weird feeling that he was being watched, but dismissed it. There were many people around always staring at him since he looked so different. He made sure that the camera was securely around his neck. Would another student try to steal it from in the hallway? That would be a yes. It has happened in the past. A jock would run by him, push him down then take the camera. They all knew it was his pride and joy.
He walked into his math class getting into the back seat as usual. The work was done as usual since he never really got distracted with anything else. He sighed softly to himself. “Darn I’m getting depressed. I’ll head over to Victoria. That’ll cheer me up.” He said softly to himself. A smile actually came to his lips. He nicknamed the Victorian style house Victoria. The reason behind this was because he felt like the house was a person. That and he could always be talking to it when he was around to take pictures.
A wish would be if there was a person that he could talk to about anything. The house isn’t a person even though he pretends it to be. He was the loner of the school so he had no one. Alex shook his head as he pushed those thoughts away. Math was the here and now.

Victor stared intently at a student who continued to challenge him with attitude. The man continued to stare, lashing back at him with intelligent comebacks, throwing the teen off. The class leaned forwards in their seats. It was a bet. Whoever couldn't come up with any more comebacks lost. The teen stuttered and looked around worried at the class. They began to whisper while looking at the young male. "Yeah well... you're... you're a... terrible teacher!" He shouted and the class, along with Victor erupted in laughter. He instantly lashed back, aging, throwing the teen off. Finally he dropped his head. "Fine!" The teen yelled. The class cheered for Victor. He stood up and shook his head. "Never go against a teacher who knows what they're talking about." He laughed and glanced over his shoulder at the clock on the wall. "Okay, okay everybody. Clean up your desks and get ready to leave." he said and talked with the defeated student, they shared a laugh. He didn't have any trouble with the last period of the day. They were really good students, and he didn't have any stupid girls that tried to flirt with him. The bell rang. "Okay! Remember! You have to finish your painting in the next few days, and I'll see you all tomorrow, now get out of my life." He playfully said and said goodbye to them as they all left. Victor left through the back door, heading over to his car. He got in and drove off to the city. He wanted a quick meal before going home and dealing with living around humans and surviving on synthetic blood. Victor went to an underground blood bar, got a quick meal from a drunken young male and headed home. By the time he rounded the corner to the dead end street, the sun had already gone down, not that anybody could see it through all the clouds.

Alex looked up when he was called to answer a problem. Why did the damn teacher pick me? I wasn’t even raising my hand. He thought bitterly to himself. “Oh whatever…” He mumbled taking a quick look at the problem. The answer was correct when he told the teacher the answer. There were whispers around him. When weren’t there?
He would love to just yell at them. To tell them what he was really thinking, but he held it in since he didn’t think it was ever worth it. They would just give him weird looks, brush off what he said and continued on their way. To them Alex was like a dark shadow that could be ignored. He wished for a friend in this place or rather anywhere. He never could find one. This bothered him, but he didn’t let it get to him all too much.
The bell rang, he never felt so thankful for a day to end. He gathered his stuff quickly and practically ran out to his car. He wanted to get to Victoria. He missed her. Alex hopped into his car, which defiantly was a good piece of metal that ran not some fancy piece of crap the other students bragged about that they had. The car ran down the street as if knowing the desperate feeling in the boy.
The plants, the trees, the architecture all of this around Victoria was beautiful. Alex held every site dearly to himself. He made sure to show her in the best way whenever he took a picture. Since someone had moved into the house he wasn’t able to be around as much. After a couple of days he figured out the new resident’s schedule. He had parked his car on the side road, so not in the parking lot of the house. It was slightly unnoticed. He didn’t care he wanted to take some pictures and forget about life for a moment.
Unfortunately it was dark out now. He liked using natural light for his pictures instead of his flash on the camera. The sunset was beautiful. The colors of orange, purple, even a splash of red surrounding Victoria. Definitely beautiful. He didn’t realize how late it was. He stood up from the stream outback. There was some light left from the moon that was rising. Not enough to keep him out there. He started his trek back to his car. That street was pretty long and his car was at the end of it.

Victor pulled up into the large Victorian home. Just as he stepped out of his car, he froze. He could easily pick up the scent of an intruder in his back yard. In a blink of an eye, he was behind the person. He grabbed two thin wrists, holding them in one hand, and the other large hand pushed the back of the person's head forward, so that they were bending over. "What do you think you're doing in my home?" Victor growled at the person, his face close to the other's neck, baring his fangs, ready to bite if they tried to turn around and attack. The man wasn't familiar with Alex's scent, he wasn't with anybody's yet. He had moved in just a few days ago. Victor's large hand tightened around the two wrists. The sound of slow running water was the only sound aside from their heavy breathing. Even a few occasional rustle from the wind. Victor glanced down and saw... a camera? "...Alex?" He asked, pulling his face away from the other's neck. Without waiting, Victor turned the other around. It was dark, very dark, but he was able to see the teen perfectly. "Alex... what the ******** are you doing here?!" he snapped at him, finally letting go of his wrists and the back of his head. "What the <********> are you doing here?!" He asked again, this time a little more shocked then his angry tone that he used before. "Do you realize that you're trespassing? This is my house! You can't just walk into my back yard. What the hell are you thinking, no most importantly what the hell do you thinking you're doing?" All of the frantic questions he asked were relatively the same. Victor was scared, because if he hadn't seen the camera, he might have killed Alex and drained him dry before realizing who he was. "Get the hell out of here! Go home!" He added quickly, grabbing Alex's upper arm, walking him to the gate then leading him out into the street. "Where do you live? Go home! And don't you dare do that again, next time you may not be so lucky!" Victor snapped, his usually bright green happy eyes, now narrowed dangerously deadly. Victor turned and walked back to his house, opening the front door and closing it behind him. He didn't know that Alex actually lived a few houses down and hoped that the teen would know what's right for him and go back home.

Alex froze when he felt someone behind him. He didn’t even have time to turn around to see who it was. He was in a position he wasn’t able to get out of. It was frustrating and frightening he didn’t hear the man. The boy’s eyes widened hearing Mr. Chase’s voice. Of course it was different than usual, but that was his. So he moved in to the house. He really wished he could get away from him at that moment. What was he doing? The man’s grip hurt.
He didn’t think of speaking thinking the man would do something rash. He heard his name, but his body was roughly turned around. He couldn’t tell in the dark if it was exactly Mr. Chase, but Mr. Chase knew it was Alex. Glad to be let go, he backed away from him a bit. Not to mention rubbed his wrists. He felt like they would be red tomorrow morning. “I came to take pictures..I didn’t realize someone had moved in…” He tried to get his say in the matter but Mr. Chase kept shouting questions at him.
Truthfully he knew someone occupied the house. He didn’t think he would be caught. He flinched when Mr. Chase grabbed his upper arm. He thought he would hit him or something. “I live right down the street. Um…I won’t ..not without permission.” He mumbled. Alex saw Mr. Chase’s eyes and cold fear went through his veins. Yea he was scared before, but seeing it in his eyes was just worse. He watched as the teacher went up the steps then into his house.
The camera on his neck, he held onto that tightly. He had a feeling that if he didn’t have that with him..Well he wasn’t exactly sure what would’ve happened. Alex ran to his car wanting to be home. He didn’t trust being outside, being this close to Mr. Chase. What will happen in school? He shook his head. His body was shaking as he drove off to his house.
Car parked and doors locked. He made sure that the doors were locked. His parents were home, but it’s not like they checked on him. His mother did, but mom and dad were out tonight, something about a celebration. He would have liked if his mom was around. He needed some comfort after what happened. Alex sat there on his bed looking through his camera.

Victor stood in the large, crimson bedroom. His hand reached into a black urn, pulling out five little black pills that he had taken at school and quickly swallowed them. That should keep his blood lust down for the night, after feeding and almost getting another meal, not to mention the adrenaline that now pumped through his veins. The man sighed and slwoly walked to a bathroom in the next room over. He was worried about two things. Alex and the pills. He was worried that Alex was permanently scared of him. The only reason that Victor was so rough and mean to him was because he was trying to get the teen away from him as quickly as possible before his thirst got to be too much. The second thing that he was scared about was the amount of pills he had left. His urn was almost empty, the box he carried to school with him was almost empty and they wouldn't come until Saturday. He had to make it last and drink more synthetics. He had plenty of those. The only reason being was that he hated the taste, it was too fake and held a plastic taste. Victor stripped himself of his clothes and started a hot shower quickly jumping in to soothe himself. Outside a woman with long platinum blonde hair walked up the the Victorian house, then just simply... walked right in as if she owned the beautiful house. "Victor?" Her voice was soft, his big blue eyes looked around the quite house. With a pout from her overly red plump lips, she made her way upstairs easily finding the man's bedroom. She looked like a woman from old black and white 50's movies. She smiled and opened the bathroom door, leaning on the frame smiling at the showering man. "You know it really is a shame you're not interested in women anymore." She said and walked in, leaning over the counter, putting on more bright red lipstick. A heavy sigh came from the shower. "Why are you here Emelia?" He asked adn looked over at her. "Well... I had no where else to go. Besides... we're practically siblings, and I guess I did miss you." She added with a smile of pearly white teeth. Victor and Emelia had the same sire, he being much older than she. "Fine... fi you're staying.. you're cooking and cleaning." He said as he washed his brown hair and looked over at her, getting a shrug. She walked back into his bedroom, going through his dresser until she found a large shirt. She removed her clothes and wore that with her underwear. "So where do I sleep Victor?" She asked as she laid down on his bed, already making herself comfortable, not even waiting for an answer. "Spare room." He called back, but it fell on deaf ears. A few minutes later, Victor came back out dressed in flannel night pants. "Oh no... no, no, no!" he said shaking his head as he walked over to his bed, leaning over to look at her. "Spare room." He said. "Ohhh!~ but just for tonight Victor?" She begged with pouty red lips. The elder male gave in easily. He laid down next to her, grabbing a tissue handing it to her. "What's this for?" She asked as she took it with her slim pale fingers and red nails. "Wipe that s**t off. I don't want it anywhere on me or on the sheets." He said and rolled onto his side, tuning off the side lamp, quickly falling asleep. The next morning, he woke to an obnoxious buzzing. He reached out and slammed on the off button. He stared up at the ceiling, then slowly looked down to his chest seeing Emelia laying her head on it. Groaning, Victor pushed her head off and was quickly dressed, and down stairs making lunch, making a bit extra for Alex... as a peace offering for last night. Pork stir fry. He packed it into another box, setting a fork in it's own separate place. Packed, hair and teeth brushed, Victor quickly headed up stairs, grabbing his suit case, with the box in it. He dug around in Emelia's pants and found a pouch of the pills. She had enough. he popped two into his mouth and was off. Victor arrived at school early again and was in his class, unlocking the cabinets for the first period class. He hoped that Alex was going to be early so he could talk to him about last night.

Alex was looking through his pictures, but he wasn’t really seeing them. The event that happened between him and Mr. Chase kept playing through his head. “Why would he do that? I wasn’t doing anything bad..Ok I was trespassing, but just for pictures.” He sighed. He put his camera on the bed side table. He couldn’t look through the pictures anymore since he wasn’t focusing.
He wondered what would happen with the teacher next time they meet. Alex would have to act normal. He couldn’t freak out since people would question that. He paused in his thoughts. No they wouldn’t, they would just think it was normal. Like he was having an episode or he was going into the bathroom to cut himself. Honestly he didn’t know what went through the other student’s minds about him. He never wanted to know either.
The clothes were off and he was in his bed. The only comfort that he could get. He knew he would have nightmares, but he went to sleep anyway. He needed his sleep to be fresh for the next school day.
There was darkness all around and some noises off in the distance. Then something grabbed the boy roughly pulling him to the bigger body. This time the hands were on his throat as if to squeeze the life out of him. Alex sat up quickly panting. “It was just a dream..” He put his head in his hands trying to calm himself. He hadn’t had a dream like that in awhile.
He shook the sleep from his eyes as he rose from the bed and changed. “Come on Alexander have some breakfast then go off to school!” His mother called from downstairs. He groaned inwardly. He wouldn’t eat, he was too nervous, too scared. Looking into the mirror he used the gel to spike his hair a little in the back and the front. Attached around his neck was a purple belt, a collar to other people. He just liked how it looked.
“Don’t have time mom. See ya when I get home.” Alex gave her a smile even though he wasn’t feeling it. Truthfully he was early for school. He always was since he usually went to Victoria to take pictures. Though that scare last night, he wasn’t sure when he would be going back to her. Maybe during the school day? That would work since Mr. Chase wouldn’t be home. He was still scared, but he loved that house and would do anything to get back in her grace.
“What am I going to do until class starts? Go around the school taking pictures? That sounds good.” Alex reasoned with himself as he walked through the doors. He uncapped his camera, which was securely around his neck. He wasn’t sure where he would go for the pictures. If something seems interesting then he would take the picture.

Victor was hoping that Alex would come into class early, but all he got were the annoying girls who constantly flirted with him. The man sat at his desk, face in palm, his green eyes dulled as he stared at the computer, screen waiting for the bell to ring. Slowly, his eyes closed, just being able to rest them. Finally the bell rang and he opened his eyes back up. The rest of the students filed in. He was already tired of hearing the girl's voices. Victor waited a bit for the last, late students to get into class. So when the last of them were in he put on a forced smile. "Okay everybody, get to your paintings and finish them up, they're due this week... and I accept no work later than half a week. If it's not turned in by then, then you get a zero and an F for that project." Students began to got the cabinets, picking up their work and getting started. He moved back to Alex's seat. "Alex... I'd like to talk with you after class. I'll write you a late note." He turned and walked away, one table, not far from Alex and filled with jocks and cheerleaders, oooo'ed at the teen when the teacher walked away. Victor turned his head sharply over at the table, glaring at them, the same glare he had given Alex last night as she shoved him off to go home. Victor went back to helping other students out. He stayed quiet, not like how he was yesterday, so full of life and smiles. "Mr. Chase?" One male student asked as he stared at his painting, lost completely at what to do. He leaned over, helping him out, while shoot Alex a few glances, his green eyes back to the lively color that they were yesterday. Many students began to finish up, turning in their work. He had already graded Alex's work and handed it back. On the back of the painting was an elegant A and 'amazing job, it's going in the art show whether you like it or not.' then a small smiley face next to it. That was quite odd coming from such a teacher. He didn't seem like the one to put happy faces after his grading.

Alex actually got a couple good shots, the angle of the sun and some students coming into the doors. Of course no one would see these. The pictures were for his own enjoyment. He heard the bell checking his watch. He jumped and sprinted off to class. He didn’t believe how fast the time went by. That camera of his was always making him late for things. The door was open so he slipped into the back row where his seat was. He heard Mr. Chase speak and gave a small smile. He was done with the project so he started to work on the one he started yesterday.
Again he was looking through his camera taking down notes in his notebook. He didn’t hear Mr. Chase approach him until he spoke. That made the teen jump slightly in his seat. Let’s just say he wasn’t as comfortable around the teacher as he was. “Yes sir…” He replied softly. In his head he was cursing softly. ‘What the hell does he want? Too talk about last night?’ He was starting to panic.
He bowed his head ignoring the jocks and cheerleaders. Honestly it wasn’t anything new. There was silence soon after. ‘Guess Mr. Chase did something.’ He thought to himself. Occasionally he would look around the room to see where everyone else is. He noticed Mr. Chase’s eyes back to normal. Alex shook his head getting back to his work.
Alex turned over the work that was handed back to him. He wanted to see the grade. He was happy with the A though not with the message. He glared at Mr. Chase and shook his head. There was no way that he would have his work go into the art show. He would make sure that Mr. Chase knew that after class. A smiley face? That seemed odd especially coming from the teacher.

Victor loosened up through out the class time, smiling more like yesterday. Before he knew it, the bell rang, students cleaning up and putting things away. He stood at the front of the class, bidding them a goodbye. He made eye contact with Alex, waiting for the rest of the class to leave. Once the final student left, and the door closed behind him, Victor looked at Alex. "I want you to know that you're not in trouble. I want to apologize about last night... the way I handled you and talked to you." He leaned onto the wall, his arms crossing loosely on his chest. "I'm very sorry, but you must understand, I had no idea who was in my backyard. You see before I moved here I was harassed, everyday and on several occasions, somebody had trespassed onto my backyard and tore up my home. I finally moved when they decided to start burning it down. So you must understand why I was so rash, and I'm very sorry about it." ' Victor's face softened and a smile came to his lips. "I hope you can forgive me." The man's arms uncrossed and lay lazily at his sides. The late bell rang. "I'll write you a pass." he said and moved to his desk, pulling out the pink slip of paper and quickly scribbling a few words down and handed it to the teen with another smile. ((Bleh! It's short! Alex wanted the class to go by faster than it was. He was anxious yet nervous with his one on one meeting with Mr. Chase. He wanted to get his points across and he also wanted to hear what the teacher had to say to him. He cleaned up his own work station at the sound of the bell. As the students went out the door, he could have sworn some of them tried to stay behind to hear what the teacher would say to him. But friends pulled them away saying they’d be late to class.
Feeling those eyes on him made shivers go up his spine. He was glad to hear that he wasn’t in trouble. Though he had a feeling that he wasn’t, he got yelled at enough last night. Alex sat in his seat a little unnerved. He watched the teacher with careful eyes. He half expected him to be all freaky like last night.
The apology was surprising and very emotional to the boy. He never expected a story like that. “I had no idea..” He muttered. “Then how you reacted has purpose. Acting on your old fear. You thought I was there to destroy the house.” He was saying his thoughts out loud as if that would explain things to himself.
Alex saw his features turn soft and a smile appear. ‘I guess he feels better.’ He thought about not telling the man that he forgave him then thought that it would be cruel not to. “I’ll forgive you, if I can still take pictures in your yard and of your house. I love her and I get so many good photos from around the area. My projects are mostly from her.” He paused with a slight blush. “Her I mean by the Victorian house you moved in.” He felt stupid for not just saying house to Mr. Chase. He called the house a her. Well that’s not too embarrassing.
He took the note grateful that the teacher wrote one out. It wasn’t like his next teacher would keep asking where he was. It was only biology that he had next and the teacher was laid back. Besides Alex knew that if he started talking about some animal that she would go into great detail and forget that he was late.

Victor assumed that when Alex said her, he meant his house. He sighed slightly. "Fine, but only on a few conditions..." He began and pushed himself off of the wall. "If I am not home, you go nowhere near it. If I don't answer the door, you wait. Knock on the door and let me know that you're going to take pictures and never... ever... again take any in the night without my knowing. You're lucky you had your camera, because if not, you might not be here." He warned him and waved him off. Once Alex was gone, Victor pulled out the painting and got back to work. His hand moved lazily, his face resting in his other hand, eyes half lidded. He worked lazily, not really interested in painting at the moment. He sighed as he dropped the paintbrush into a cup of water and moved it around, getting the paint off. He dried it off and set it aside. Victor then set his face in both hands, staring down at the painting. Getting up, he moved around the room until he found the painting and art works students had done before he had become their teacher. He pulled out the box and shuffled through it, pulling one of Alex's out. A painting of his home done by Alex. Bringing it back over to where his painting was, Victor began to change it very slightly. When it was an hour into second period, Victor stepped back and looked at it. He was almost done. Thanks to, oddly enough, Alex, his painting was almost done. It was now of the same Victorian woman standing in front of his Victorian house. Leaving the painting, Victor pulled out his water bottle and drank some of the clear, flavorless liquid then turned on the a.c. and going back to work. And then, when the bell rang to leave class, Victor was finally done with the painting. He cleaned everything up, setting the painting to dry. Lunch had finally begun. He sat back in his chair, taking his pill quickly. He forgot how relaxing painting actually was. It had been nothing but an nuisance to him for many years, and now, thankfully, that boredom had worn off.
