Sonic Soldier i am sorry but everything in series 5 is cool BUT the new doctor. he doesn't have that crazy attitude as david did. he is more like chistopher. i will give it a chance but i fear it is the end for doctor who. i hope i am wrong but he looks too much like david ( younger david) so he will be always in his shadow being compared to david. lose the bow tie. it doesn't work and it fails at making him look smarter. his head is too big also. well that is my 2 cents. i totally agree. it looked cool, but Matt Smith, i just cannot see him ever even coming close to David's league. David was a good Doctor, funny, borderline psycho at times, and all around fun. This guy looks like he is more serious and lacking in the humor department.

So much negativity and prejudice... I like the new outfit, bow tie and all. It's very eccentric and Doctor-y. You guys are being so silly. David Tennant was not the be-all-end-all of Doctor Who. There were many great Doctors before him and I'm sure Matt Smith will be a great Doctor after him. The Doctor regenerates. It's what he does. He's completely different each time. You're going to have to either get used to it, or go watch something else.

I am not going to judge the new season or new doctor based on this preview. The preview it self was poorly done. It looked like a cross between The Sara Jane Adventures, and teen drama. That's one way to spoil the taste for a show. Oh well I shall Wait patiently for the new season to start and hope they don't ruin it.

At first I was unhappy with Matt, but after seeing him at the end of pt 2 I have hope still yet biggrin . We should give him a chance. And girls (and guys), I know we are all gonna miss David, my heart is still broken crying . He was my first Doctor and will always be the one that I love the most but Matt may bring in more fans. Or lose them. Who knows? But until we actually see him in action we should all keep an open mind. And about the outfit and hair...look at Colin's outfit gonk ...I think Matt's could've been worse, don't you agree? And the hair being too big? Uhm...David's hair wasn't exactly a buzz cut either, people. Just keep an open mind. If you aren't happy about changing people, I agree with above quote, you need to find another show to watch. (No offense intended)

SaphiraStar *hugging Ceribri back* every time i look at this I notice something new. last time it was the Tardis. I don't see why they feel the need to change it. I thought it was fine. It fell apart. He had to fix it. Also: they change the Tardis up every couple of Doctors.. the doctor seemingly gets a wild hair up his..er.. anyways it changes. Do you need a picture montage?

When I saw Matt in EOT, I was really unimpressed. However, I actually got really excited when I saw the preview! Daleks, weeping angels, snogging, and guns? I am so in. As much as I miss David, and by god, I miss him, I am going to watch the new doctor as just that - a new doctor. What I mean by this is, don't think of David when you watch the new series, think of an exciting new regeneration. (That's what I will be doing.)

Im going in with a open mind. I realy liked Eccleston and didnt like Tennant for the first few epd. And Im still not a huge fan of the 3rd season. But the 4th is when I loved him just as much as Eccleston. Each Doctor is his own character, theyre not all the same. Smith seems to be more of a Tom Baker or McCoy type doctor a little more darker.

I was excited about the new season before, but now I'm super excited! I really loved David so of course I'm sad to see him go, especially since he was my first Doctor, but one of the main parts of Doctor Who is that he regenerates, so I knew that was coming and I could at least prepare myself for it, lol.
But really, I'm going to try to keep any negative opinions to myself until I actually see him in a scene that is longer than 30 seconds. The Doctor's changed many times into people who were very different than him, to this won't be so different. But anyway, right now I really like him.
As for non-Doctor season 5 stuff, I'll admit I am a little apprehensive about the new companion, but I'll just have to wait until April to see what she's really like, since we don't even know that much about her.
I've liked all of the other episodes by Moffat, so I trust his abilities in being a writer for the show. And even though the Daleks are coming back again, it'll be with a totally new Doctor, so I don't mind too much. And I'm really excited for the Weeping Angels to be back because they're a new who original. The Slitheen were okay, but I do like the Angels more. razz
So basically, I'm really excited. I'm counting down the days!

I saw the previews during the Christmas special and I liked the plot hints and the new companion (a college girl?)... but I don't know if I will get used to that face on the Doctor. I want David Tennant back!! scream scream

What I'm most worried about isn't Smith, although he's not exactly what I'd picture the Doctor to be (I mean, Geronimo? Really?), but the VIOLENCE shown by the DOCTOR in the previews. I sincerely hope its not the norm for him. I even was disappointed by Ten!Doctor taking the gun from Wilf the second he heard the Time Lords were back. Yes he may have been scared as hell, but he had just given a whole speal on how he wouldn't EVER use a gun, and then back in the episode The Doctor's Daughter he also made a big show of pointing out to those warrior humans that he NEVER WOULD. To have Matt Smith also weilding a gun is extremely worrying, and while I don't remember it, him taking a baseball bat to Daleks is along the same line.
I dunno...it makes me feel a wee bit uneasy. That's not who The Doctor is supposed to be.

It looks like it'll be REALLY good. And I also had a problem with Tennant leaving, but come on, give Smith a chance.
