I feel that way sometimes too, but then I just think how many unoriginal avatars are out there and think how original and distinct we look with our skin, I love it personally and I feel better being a part of something, instead of having an individual AVY. To me, that's enough to make me keep the skin. I just love looking this way and being a part of something.

Yunas broken heart When it comes to the market place, before you go there go into your my avatar page and take off the skin but DO NOT SAVE... then go into the market place and try on those items! The skin won't show up! It should work! No dice.

I must insist that you try to create a new Mule and try out giving all the items that make that account so precious to you to it. I know it sounds hard and downright horrible at the start, but I've had this account for +3 years myself and it's working out awesomely for me. Teru Girl WebOne I do not see the point in keeping a rule of having to keep you skin on - I think it is rediculous - what is the point od dedication if there are only 5 of you left in skins? or if only half of us are? Exactly why was this guild built to begin with? to support Boo - or to support the Skin Item?? Come on - give us all a break, we can only keep this up for so long and then it will change anyway - right now it is 57 to 48 to keep the skin in another month that vote will change to be closer to 50 - 50 and a month after that - it will be more want it to change then now Man I just got ice skates - I would really like to try them out on the ice -- BEFORE the ice is gone sad I believe it was created for the skin. It says it in the tags of the guild. BOO-skin, support. For people with the skin to support each other. I don't get the big deal with this being a skin only guild. There's plenty of other guilds for BOO supporters. Exactly. This has been mentioned many times before, I expect that our members should all be able to comprehend this by now. Raining_Stardust I think I'll also be leaving on January 1st. I really hate this avatar. Keeping it just for the skin, nah. Not really worth it to me anymore. The skin is beautiful to me and I admire all you who have nice looking avatars with the skin on but MY AVATAR SUCKS. I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE. Besides, this elitist boo-skin guild crap is pissing me off a bit. We're the BENEVOLENT ORDER. Christ. Shouldn't we be spreading TOLERANCE and stuff instead of hording the shiny white B.O.O. skin? I'm not talking about anything racial here.On the contrary, I think yours is among the better ones, clearly. We're a branch of the Benevolent Order of the Overseer, yes, but we're The Order, and the guild with said name, rules comes first, not tolerance. We're not heartless, we just follow the laws this guild is built upon. Those who won't cannot be part of it. We're tolerant and benevolent as well, but we must maintain our rules to remain what we were meant to be.

I was a little freaked out when I tried it because your avatar's legs don't stop moving even if you stand still on the ice, but you don't need the skates equipped to try it. Raining_Stardust I think I'll also be leaving on January 1st. I really hate this avatar. Keeping it just for the skin, nah. Not really worth it to me anymore. Elitism is awful, guys, can't we be a little more inclusive and open up to any BOO supporter who's prepared to be active? The life of the guild is more important than feeling slightly superior to someone else. :/ I'm not in as bad a place as anyone else because I still quite like my avatar; but I'm also satisfied with playing around with my invent and then just not saving. OP, I won't be surprised if guild policy doesn't change and you're forced out, but I wish you the best anyway.

I am sick of the elitist talk in this one; I joined because I was proud to be a BOOer, not because I was overly proud of the skin (although it is BEAUTIFUL, and I will really miss it). sad

I know it sounds hard and downright horrible at the start, but I've had this account for +3 years myself and it's working out awesomely for me. If I create a mule account, on which I only play with my avatar, one of two things will happen: 1. I will never get on my mule account, for lack of time, and I will lose at least having my items in my inventory and be just as miserable with being unable to change my avatar as I am now. -or- 2. I will never get on THIS account, for lack of time; I will lose my 4 1/2 yr old account, be a worthless member of this guild since I'll never post, and never see my glorious skin again anyways. Seriously. I would have gladly kept one BOO item equipped at all times (and still might, to show my support apart from being in the guild), but keeping the skin is a little too much to ask for. It is a commitment for eternity, without any variation possible in that entire stretch of time. I'll just have to make sure I get plenty of pics before I unequip it. Maybe I can make a sig out of it. *sigh*

First off, I'd like to thank people for compliments on my avatar! I just don't like being so scantily clad. But in my cross dressing days ahead, I'm sure that I will miss my beautiful BOO skin and I will look on at the great few remaining BOO avatars with respect and admiration. I'll miss seeing all these beautiful BOO avatars, of course, but by changing I'll have to leave. Jeayla Raining_Stardust I think I'll also be leaving on January 1st. I really hate this avatar. Keeping it just for the skin, nah. Not really worth it to me anymore. The skin is beautiful to me and I admire all you who have nice looking avatars with the skin on but MY AVATAR SUCKS. I am sick of the elitist talk in this one; I joined because I was proud to be a BOOer, not because I was overly proud of the skin (although it is BEAUTIFUL, and I will really miss it). sad The only BOO guild I'm gonna end up staying in is The Benevolent Order http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/?guild_id=267533&_gaia_t_=1272The people there are really nice and the community is active and interesting. And I don't need the BOO skin to be a member. Ice the Cold We're a branch of the Benevolent Order of the Overseer, yes, but we're The Order, and the guild with said name, rules comes first, not tolerance. We're not heartless, we just follow the laws this guild is built upon. Those who won't cannot be part of it. We're tolerant and benevolent as well, but we must maintain our rules to remain what we were meant to be. This has just confirmed everything I hate about these BOO skin elitist type guilds. "Rules come first, not tolerance." Really? In some cases, maybe. But this is becoming absurd. I'm going to end up removing my skin in protest. How ironic that a BOO skin sanctuary should feel like a prison to me in the end. For a game, this has sure got me worked up. Delete my posts and banish me if you wish. I'm leaving on the first either way. You'll find me showing my devotion to the virtues of BOO in other, better, and certainly more fun ways. I might even keep a BOO item on my avatar for all time. Hah, maybe there should be a guild for those who have lost their BOO skins and were rejected by BOO skin guilds. Show some support for freedom. Of course, the guild would also accept BOO skins who want to show their support of the choice to be what they want to be. Oh, I'd also like to add that I'm going to be so crushed by the lack of these beady red eyes that I'm going to use the pearly black or white eyes from Nano-C as a substitute. Pearls seem appropriate to show support. I also noticed that they're set pretty far apart, like the BOO eyes.

Raining_Stardust Delete my posts and banish me if you wish. I'm leaving on the first either way. We don't delete post when we banned people. Do you really think we're just going to remove all proof that you were even here? Come on, we aren't that harsh. I know a lot of people are up-set, annoyed, or even flat out pissed about people being banned for removing their skin but this was a SKIN ONLY guild. The whole point was for people to get support by seeing others with the skin. The rules were CLEARLY stated, so by joining you accepted these rules. As said before there are other BOO guilds.

Though looking around, I do see people without skins on so I guess my posts are safe. Sorry about sounding so pissed in them. This guild does work though. I would have changed a long time ago if I hadn't received invites from all these BOO skin support guilds.

All this ranting about how mean this guild is has saddened me. To down this guild is to down the members who support it and I have never heard harsh word leave any of their lips. By staying true to this guild they have already given up so much. Do not punish them in such a way. If you must leave this guild then I bid you a sorrow goodbye. But please do so with bliss and grace that I know you are capable of. So farewell and may you find a guild with what you are looking for. cry

On the one hand, I agree with Raining Stardust - some of the comments in this guild sound very elitist, and doesn't make me very proud to be a member.
But honestly, its just a couple members I hear this talk from, on the whole I like this guild and I think its a great community.
From my other posts in other threads on this topic, people probably know by now that I'm more on the lenient side of the guild, but I can still get along with my fellow people of the order who think differently.
But yes, the elitism does get on my nerves at times...

I know its tough wanting to change your skin and all, but I feel that this is one of the very few truly unique places left on gaia, and I personally love that so many people have hung on and stayed. There are always going to be new items on gaia but never again this one, unless we can hold on a little bit longer and get gaia to give us our skins back. Come on people I know we can do it! -^_^-

as for the maker of this thread i say keep the skin and stay if you wish change to a new perminet and maybe stay, or quit and change all you want like me.

You can quit if you want to. You joined the guild at your own free will and you can quit just the same. There is no set rule that says that once you join, you can't quit. That would be plain silly. Plus, if you quit the guild first then change your avi, i think you save the admins from going through the bother. It's probably a minor thing, but it is one less thing that they have to do.
It would be nice if you stayed, but like i said, you can quit if you want to.
