SaphiraStar
at the end with the timelords, did anyone else notice the person covering his/her face? Who is this person?

That's what I want to know...the only thing that could be a clue is the fact that it had Rose's theme music playing when she was on. Oh well...I really want to see the new series now!

Holy crap.

First off, I love Wilf. So much. Words can't even say.

The Doctor didn't die from the radiation, but he was willing to if it meant saving Wilf. That is the Doctor that I know and love. Any of the scenes in both parts between those two was absolutely top-notch. Some of the finest I've seen in pretty much ever.

And I actually don't mind the Master, for the first time since he showed up in the new series. Get past the he-is-everyone bit, but the actual dialogue between the Doctor and the Master was so amazing once he calmed down. And it's a nice way to go out like that, saving each other.

I'm still not sure about who the woman was that appeared to Wilf and then showed up with the Timelords.

And I call bonus points for catching the double reference in the scene with the book signing. It was really nice. smile

All the wordless goodbyes really set things off nicely (and set me off crying before the inevitable end). Did anyone catch that Martha and Mickey are married? I mean, WHAT?? And at the intergalactic bar, Jack and Alonzo (from Voyage of the Damned) meet each other. Definitely didn't see that coming. He even got to see Sarah Jane again, with Luke. And good old Rose, too. I was confused when she didn't recognise him but when she told him it was 2005, I really got emotional. ;___;

For once, I think RTD did alright with a finale episode. He didn't shoehorn every past companion in for some grand adventure, but they still each had a small moment. Nearly everything made sense, and despite the several Deus ex machina's in play, they weren't as blatant and/or could be excused plausibly.

Did anyone else catch the Timelord's name? The High Chancellor?
Ten (or the Master, I don't remember) said it at one high point in the episode.
Rassilon. ASDFJKL;
That's like all kinds of batshit insane right there.

Oh wow....that part 2 was so sad....The amount of tears I shed during that....
For starters, I always assumed that it would be the Master who knocked four times, but it wasn't...it was Wilf. And in his wish to free one man, he ended up causing the Doctor's regeneration.
When the Master sacrificed himself for the Doctor, and when the Doctor refused to shoot the Master...my god, it proves that deep, deep down they remembered all of those times together as children, and proved how strong their friendship was. I so hope this isn't the end for the Master...He better find a way back!
And then the Doctor's monologue before he freed Wilf...if that wasn't passion, I don't know what was, he showed the same...just everything as he did in Hamlet! (Yes I did watch Hamlet, it was ace)
And then the Goodbyes...It just shows you how many friends hes made...How successful this Regeneration has been at making friends and keeping them. I have to admit, I didn't think it would be Mickey who Martha married! I always thought it would be that Doctor from two series' back...So that was a shock!
And the Regeneration...Oh wow....It was so upsetting, though I will admit I was crying ever since the Master sacrificed himself. And though I'm not so keen on how the new Doctor looks (What? It's important!) I will say this: HES STILL NOT GINGER!

And on a final note, I think that the woman who Wilf saw, and who the Doctor saw, is his Mother ^^

Yep, the Lord President was called Rassilon. But remember, the time lords did ressurect the Master to fight in the time war, perhaps they got rassilon as well?

Well that would make sense that Rassilon would get back the title. I was trying to figure out why Romanadvoratrelundar wasn't President.

The thing that made me start to really cry was the Book signing. I was so close before that but it really pushed me over the edge.

It's playing again on BBCA right now...and I'm watching Wilf's reaction to seeing the Earth from space...wow.

OMFG. I just about cried when I heard Wilf knocking on the glass, because I realised what that meant right away. crying And then he was all "No, just leave me, I'm old anyway", but the Doctor still saved him, and waahhh! Such a tear jerker scene.

And Donna, bless her... Finaly got married. XD And shoved the lottery ticket in her cleavage. LOL! And I was panicking when she was starting to remember, and was being surrounded by the Master clones, and then the Doctor was like "Do you think I'd leave my best friend without a defense mechanism?" *glee*

Do you think maybe the lady who spoke to Wilf was Romana? Would explain why she wanted to save the Doctor so much. And since Romana was president at one point, would make sense for her to still be on the council...

And WTF Mickey and Martha?! How the... what in the... WHAT? Okay, Martha didn't meet Mickey until the end of series 4, at which point she was still engaged to Tom Milligan... And I'm going to assume that the mention of her being "on her honeymoon" from Torchwood Children of Earth was with Mickey and not Tom... Which means that she broke up with Tom and hooked up with Mickey some time between the end of series 4 and Children of Earth... How the heck did that happen? And poor Tom, I liked him. sad And Martha seemed to really like him, too.

Oh, and after the regeneration scene was great.

Doctor: *feels hair* I'm a girl?! *check's Adam's Apple* Wait, no, not a girl... *pulls hair in front of face* And STILL not ginger!

Well, there's like a million different legends about Rassilon, so he could have just been not dead this entire time.. regenerated and hid, or was working on his death glove, or who knows. It's probably the most plausible thing RTD could have done, to pull him out of the rubble of the Time War. Because nobody knows exactly what happened to him, how he died, or what he was capable of. Apart from being ruthless enough to trap every other Time Lord who wanted immortality as badly as he did, so now I guess he wouldn't have competition.

And we still don't know who the Time Lady was who appeared to Wilf, or how she was able to do so, despite the Time Lock. I don't think she's related to Wilf because he didn't react like that to her. I'd have to rewatch Ten's reaction again but I don't think they're related either.

ASDFJKL; It did?? whee

I'll definitely rewatch that part then, and play some of the music to double check. That really could be a great clue.

And when I said I loved Wilf, of course I mean like as a father-figure. I have a great amount of respect for him, so for him to salute the Doctor generally makes me get teary-eyed.

Well, I finally got to see part 2. My sister was here with her family and I wasn't able to watch it when it came on, so I had to record it. But anyway, I was... not overly impressed, to be honest... I felt like it dragged on WAY too long. By the end I was already long since over Ten's death and was just like "OMG DIE ALREADY!!!"

I thought the Rassilon thing made zero sense. It never did explain what the deal was with that Time Lady. The fact that the Master(s) couldn't find a giant space ship in Earth's orbit, powered down or otherwise, using all the technology available on Earth was completely ridiculous. Everyone was SOOOO melodramatic through the whole thing, (part 1 and 2) and also, the father and daughter (I forget their names) who kidnapped the Master were extremely creepy with each other... It was also like, what? when Martha and Mickey were married.

On the positive side, John Simm's acting was just great, and I thought Wilf was also great. I loved all the old people finding the Doctor the way they did. And the lottery ticket was pretty cool. Overall, though, I think my favorite part of both specials was when Eleven finally showed up. I pretty much instantly fell in love (only not.. you know, in a creepy fangirl way...) and I am so very excited for the next season now. I thought it was so funny how he made fun of his hair and chin, which is what people have been ragging on him for. XD

Part two was the hardest episode I have ever watched. And I don't mean it was bad because it was one of the best performances I have ever seen, but I mean that while watching the episode my heart literally broke. I was fine for the most part, I got teary eyed over the Master sacrificing himself, I was joyed about Mickey and Martha, and laughed hysterically at Jack and Alonso blaugh , the book signing was sweet, but when I saw Rose my heart started breaking. It wasn't until the Doctor lifted his hand and it began to glow that I lost it. I began bawling crying as if I had just saw my best friend die (in which, my bff was there because I got her into it, and she started hugging me and she began to cry as well). My husband, though he laughed a bit at my reaction, has beeen understanding. David as the Doctor was the first Doctor I had ever seen in the episode Army of Ghosts, and was truly my hero, and it hurts to lose him sad . I am excited about Matt and was impressed by his short lived appearance at the end of part 2 xd , but my heart will always belong to 10.

In the episode Voyage of the Damned, there was a quote that describes me and I will reword it slightly for myself but here it goes...I am the girl who dreams of traveling and I can only wish that one day I could fly among the stars... heart

lol. I loved it when he said, "Darn, still not ginger." I started laughing so hard i fell off the couch. Now that I have seen 11, I think he might be pretty good, but I will have to see him in a full episode before I can make up my mind.

End of Time part 2 was epiiiic!
It was so amazing how far the Master went! I am SO glad he's sane.
I'm glad Donna wasn't in the show TOO much.
Oh god...the part with Wilf. The arguing and the sadness. I thought I was gonna cry.
I'm so glad he survived.
The timelords were amazing. Truly evil, worse than we could ever be.
And the Doctor's death...there was no better way for him to die.
The four knocks...that was the perfect prophecy.
Did anybody noticed that whenever people knocked four times, they did it four times?
Honestly, so many fours...I think I'm going mad...
I'm glad the Doc got back to each companion.
I have really no idea why Mickey's with Martha.
I just REALLY wish the Doc could've talked to Jack more. They could've had a big conversation, Jack spilling his guts out. I was a little disappointed.
But, I was satisfied when the Doc talked to Wilf like two old men in a retirement house, talking about their lives.
Overall, the episode was AWESOME!
Geronimo!
P.S. I'll try to make a eulogy for Ten.

two things too say right here (maybe three)
1: the executive producer Debbie Gardner saied that the woman who looked at the Doctor was his mother (well she calls her the Doctors mother anyway)
2: i got kinda angry at 10 when he was ranting about saving Wilf. It might be because i just love Wilf that much that i don't want people yelling at him but the Doctor was kinda acting jerkish at the end by yelling at Wilf stare i mean he saved some guys life (the guy who was in the radiation thing) AND came back to help the Doctor (he really didn't but still it's the thought that counts) just don't yell at Wilf or you die 3nodding
3: i kinda hope Alonzo goes with Jack and makes a new Torchwood with Gwen, Alonzo, Mickey, and Martha smile (with Jack and Alonzo dating of course xd )
