Hi everyone, my name is Rachel. I am 22 and live in Virginia. I think my favorite food to make has to be pasta. Any kind of pasta is good. Manicotti, cannelloni, stuffed shells, ziti! I also love veggies. I am not a vegetarian but most of my foods I make have a lot of veggies and very little meat. My most used spices are basil and garlic. Basil, mixed peppers and eggs are my favorite breakfast. As for my skill level I am a beginner. I try to practice healthy cooking as much as possible. I try not to eat out too much. When I stay home and cook for my family it gives me a good feeling that I can contribute something so important. Also, I like to be in control of the foods to get my family to try new things. Most of the occasions I cook for are not the traditional holidays. We do have X-mas and stuff but we eat much lighter on those days, especially since I work. I mostly cook a nice big meal when the seasons change. Thanks again for letting me join your guild!

My name is Kai, I'm 20, and I'm not telling where I live 'cause I don't like it here and I'm leaving as soon as I can. I can cook just about anything as long as you give me a recipe (regular stuff though, I'm no gourmet domokun ). Right now my current interests are anything you can do with ramen noodles and how to make the crappe served in university cafeterias taste good, because I'm limited to that and a microwave here on campus.

Hi I'm Amy and I live in Colorado Springs, CO. My favorite things to eat is probably sushi, pizza is a close runner up and not that nasty greasy stuff the stone baked of wood oven stuff. I love to cook meats and starches more than anything but I can more than hold my own in the world of baking. My favorite flavor oh boy where do I begin well there is far to many to list here but I'll try and hit all the high points; tomatoes, onions, garlic, vanilla, poppy seeds, and the main ingredients to any good dish salt, pepper, sugar, and butter or fats. Skill level well that really hard I personally would say that I am an intermidiate cook, but I would also say that I am excelent in comparison to the average everyday human. When i cook I just relax without even knowing why it just comes as natural to me as anything I have ever done. I enjoy cooking for my family and for my carrer.

Hi! I'm Kaitlyn and I live in Bear Creek, Montana. It's a really small town up north, by the border. Anyways, I'm 16, and I love to cook and sing. I'm super against fur, and I hope they ban it and kill those fur farms.

Hi! My name is Dillon, aka Meira Mango. I've been on Gaia for a little over year now. I went on a search for guilds recently because I was irritated with some of the forums and sections of gaia - maturity levels and what not. I found this guild, along with a few others that sparked my interest. I'm hoping that I find great people here! (And I'm sure I will) I'm a sophomore at The University of Michigan, studying Psychology and Women's Studies. I LOVE to cook, but it's hard to do while living in the dorm. I love to exchange recipes and cooking tips. And I love to eat. I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Halloo! My name is Alyssa, I'm 17, and I live in northern IL, where boredom abounds. Wooot.... I really know next to nothing aobut cooking, which is 97% of the reason I joined this guild...I'd really like to learn how to cook! More than anything I'd like to learn how to cook healthy, preferably low-cal foods and sweets, but I'm up for learning anything! n__n

Hi everyone, I'm Caroline (otherwise known as Pocki) and I'm from northern New Jersey. I'm a vegan, so I'm very passionate and excitable about my food. My favorite foods are Thai red curry, stuffed grape leaves and key lime pie. I love to bake anything from biscuits to sweet breads, but I also like to make stir-fries. My favorite part of cooking or baking anything is adding flavors, so I use a lot of extracts (favorite is almond) and spices (favorite is paprika). None of my dishes are often the same because I like to experiment with a lot of different spices and seasonings. I'm an intermediate chef, mostly because I only started cooking when I became vegan a year ago because I pretty much needed to in order to get a good meal once in a while. Cooking is very relaxing and fun for me, and food is a big part of who I am because being vegan is so much of what I am. I love to cook for any and every occasion, but pretty much any holiday or event where I can bake is my favorite because baking is really my strength.

ops i forgot to do this here..

Hi. I'm Rose. I'm 15 years old.

i've been a vegetarian since May '05.

i was a vegan for a day, and my mom made not be able to be one.

she thinks that if i became vegan that i would strave because i dont eat pasta, and she said most vegans live off of pasta a lot.

so.. i cant be vegan.. i wish i was able to though..

at frist my family didnt want me to be a vegetarian because they didnt see the point. but i proved them wrong that there is a point.

since i'm a picky eater anyways i didnt eat much meat anyways, so it was also a lot easier to say i dont eat meat, them name the foods i dont eat.

i'm completely in love with animals. when i grow older i'm going to have many pets in my house, and it will just be great. i've had pets all my life also. at times my pets were the only thing i could talk to, and they listen the best. Animals have feelings too.

so.. uh.. i'm the type of vegeterian who doesnt eat meat, seafood, or eggs. also i cant consume many dairy products in a day or i get really sick. i also dont eat some veggies, and fruits, and breads. i dont eat pasta at all.

my life.. of food really has to do with chips, and salsa, salads, and fruit. also i eat.. other junk foods.. too. but i am a lot healthier than how i started, and i have been cutting down on junk food.

maybe some day i will be able to survive being a vegan.

Hi y'all. Here on Gaia I go by the name of Jestina. Born, raised, and currently living in Massachusetts, land of the frustratingly short fresh vegetables season. I'm 23 now and have been vegetarian since I was about 9 I think (though lately I've been thinking about changing that sweatdrop ) I was vegan for about four years, and I still don't eat dairy (I do eat eggs, though, and I've always been in favour of cruel bee enslavement which is a great way to start flame wars on vegan message boards.)
Many of my favorite dishes are based on potatoes. heart heart heart Baked, steamed, roasted, mashed, umpteen variations on fried... I love 'em all!
My #1 favorite flavoring is GARLIC. I'm also very fond of rosemary (only fresh!!! Good thing it does fine indoors in the winter), thyme, sage, and fresh basil (which sadly I mostly only get in the summer... it tends to die in the winter no matter how sunny the window I put it in). And nutmeg. Nutmeg is awesome.

I tend to get very attached to my kitchen tools. Once my roommate put my chef's knife in the dishwasher; I noticed before the dishwasher was run and nearly threatened to stab him with it if he ever did that again. I adore cast iron pans, but I need more. I've only got an 8-inch skillet which I took from my dad's house, he actually uses the 12 inch one so I've got to get my own. I want to get an enamelled cast iron dutch oven, but they're pretty damn spendy. My mezzaluna and my pressure cooker also see a lot of use. So do my saucepans, but I'm not nearly so picky about those and have not formed an emotional bond with them.

Cooking is good because it keeps me sane. If I do not cook for myself, I get extremely irritable and moody and either don't eat enough food or gorge myself on french fries all the time. Or both.

Jestina

My name is Lawrence, and I'm an artist from Toronto, Canada. I love eatting, and take alot of pleasure from food. My favorite food is roast chicken, and my favorite drink is coffee. I love spicy and ethenic foods, as well as going to nice restraunts. I always try to make eating about more than not starving, and if I do deside to eat chips or burgers, it's a consous choice, and I get the good stuff.
