Today's Theme is Battle Ignition
Kiego knew that Taijutsu wasn't his strong point, being as his hand almost ricocheted right off the young boy's body, actually causing him more pain than he had inflicted. It was pathetic for a shinobi really, but it was his clan's fatal flaw, something that he unfortunately could not work around. Now the boy attempted to come at Kiego with a punch to the mid-section. Now given that his physical strength was lacking, Kiego possessed the speed of lightning, literally, for when the boy came swinging, he was easily able to dodge the reckless blow.
Seeing that there was now company, Kiego decided that he had seen enough of Xoren's abilities. His jutsu was admitably impressive, through his overall combat skills definitely needed work. Still, his potential was notable, and if the Raikage would permit his promotion, Kiego might have been able to see the Gennin rise to the challenge set before him as a shinobi.
When Kiego dodged the Gennin, he seemed to merely step out of the fight, and began to walk towards Hitomi and the Raikage, who were now watching their fight. He turned his head back to Xoren and waved, saying, "Sorry, we'll have to follow up with this again sometime, okay?" and finished with his signature smile. Now turning back to his audience, Kiego said, "Hey Hitomi. Raikage-san. Good day for a bit of friendly sparring, eh?"

With a gentle pat on Hitomi's back for comfort, S. B. Yuria looked ahead to the Chuunin and smiled widely, raising his arm and nodding in a greeting. "Your technique is wonderful, dear.", the loving leader noted. "Any day is wonderful to improve one's being.", he finished as he walked forward, blinking, his dreamy eyes flickering in the warm cave.
As he soaked in the words of the girl, he finally looked back down at her. "You're very positive, that's a good thing, don't ever lose hope, dear. You need to earn this chance we were all given..."

Smiling she greeted Keigo. "Hello Keigo, how are you doing today?" She asked but then quickly let out a small laugh at what the Raikage said. "I guess any day really is a good day, as long as you make it so." Hitomi became quiet for a moment as the Raikage continued speaking mostly to her. "..I guess you could say I'm positive.." She was somewhat of an optimist but not to its extremes.

Kiego took the punch, but didn't retaliate as Xoren had expected. Instead, he turned around and started walking towards a section of the cave that he couldn't see quite clearly. Intrigued, he followed a few feet behind him and was careful for any tricks Kiego might pull, as the fight had not "officially ended". Suspicious, Xoren kept a wary eye out for any traps.
Realized his foolishness, Kiego could've defeated Xoren in a heartbeat during the actual physical fighting, and so wouldn't need a trap to end Xoren. A little bit reassured, he crept closer, and saw that Kiego had stopped the battle to converse with the Raikage and another girl that he didn't quite recognize. He had seen her around the village activities, but didn't know her name.
Xoren walked up and bowed to the Raikage and gave a respectful raise of the hand to the girl.
"Enjoying me get beaten up by Kiego, eh?" Xoren said this without shame, as the difference in skill was apparent with Kiego's chuunin status.
Xoren took this time to catch his breath and gently massage his arms and stretch a little. The electricity that Kiego had exerted was getting to him now, his muscles feeling strong and tight one moment, then loose and weak in another. Shaking the feeling off, he waited for someone else to pick up the conversation.

[okay, so this is post time skip, but i don't care how old kai is cool ]
Kai travelled with his partner Mawagi to the training fields of Kumogakure. He'd only been in Kumo (sent over from Konoha on a diplomatic mission to assist Kumogakure's recovery) for two short weeks and he was still getting to know the area, but already he knew that the yakitori was excellent and that the place was just god damn beautiful. And then Juugodaime-sama had summoned him and told him he'd have a temporary genin team. Well, holiday over. Well, he /was/ here on work after all. Kai broke from his temporary musings as he made sure to travel carefully. Some parts of the area were treacherous after all... didn't want to slip. He wondered what his new team would be like. No doubt they had also been told to meet him here at this time. Would they be on time or would they be late?

Akati had gotten some message to meet a shinobi from Konoha who would teach them some techniques temporally. He was actually relaxing at the village markets eating when he got the message. He made his way through the caves, he had already been here a few times while he was in the academy, exploring the place and watching other ninja train. He was jumping across the rocks carefully, because he had yet to figure out how to walk on water. He saw up ahead the konoha ninja, his headband gave him away in there. He almost slipped when he broke concentration from where he was going, but he got his balance back.
He leaped onto the rocks near the konoha-nin and landed every so carefully onto the rocks. He looked the ninja up and down.
"You are Jounin-sensei, Kai-san?" He realized the description did match, especially once he saw the ninken.
"I am the genin, Akati!"

(( this is in a different time frame for my character okay? oO I just dont know exactly when yet xD ))
Hitomi had been peacefully sitting in her home when someone from the village came knocking giving her a message. According to its words she was supposed to meet some juunin from another village... From another village!? This must be her lucky day it wasn't often their village got visitors especially after what happened 2 years. As fast as she could the fubuki girl got ready making sure she was decent looking (no she wasn't one to worry about her looks but she wasn't one to go out looking like a slob either). Sadly she had only been informed on the last minute, she wasn't supposed to be one of the genin to be in the foreigners temporary squad but due to unexpected circumstances she was called. She didn't care though chances like this one didn't come often.
Entering the training ground she made sure not to slip any where as her light colored eyes scanned the area for the Junin and the other genin joining her. She was quick to spot Akati. Smiling softly she headed over to the group. When reaching the junin Hitomi bowed/ nodded her head respectfully in greeting. "It's nice to meet you Kai-sensei" Lifting her head back smiled at Akati. "Hello Akati-kun"

"Hi!" Kai greeted them sunnily, running his fingers through his dog Mawagi's fur. (She arched in response and nuzzled his hand affectionately) "Good to meet you. You're right on time. That's good. And there are two of you... even better. As you know, I am your new team leader, Inuzuka Kai," he waved vaguely at himself, befrore gesturing at his dog. "And this is my dog, Mawagi. She's not just my pet, she's my partner and best friend." Mawagi nodded in response, eyeing the two genin before, slinking off to a side and watching the proceedings.
"Now, we've been given an assignment that only your team can perform for simple reasons." But Kai wouldn't reveal them yet. "I've got the mission briefing here, and we're due to start tomorrow. But don't worry, we have plenty of time. The mission base is only about 10 kilometres away. Before I give you guys the full briefing..." it was then that Kai took Hitomi's hand and smiled at her. "Miss, I'm afraid I didn't catch your name."

Akati noticed Hitomi's arrival, he waved as he said hi to him. Then listened to Kai's little speech and learned that they were going on their first mission already! He was good at the academy techniques, but not sure if he was good enough for a mission! He just wished to train first, learn the basics that a genin should know! But he decided to trust the wishes of the Raikage.
He was looking at the ninken after she was introduced. He wanted to bet the dog on the head, badly. But resisted for now, just in case he got his hand bitten off. He pondered as to what the mission was, considering it was tomorrow, and 10 kilometres away!? He had the look of frustrating confusion on his face.

Hitomi tilted her head curiously at the mans canine partner. It was obvious he was an Inuzuka, then again one could easily see that with the mark on his cheeks. She wanted to know what the mission was but it didn't seem that he was going to give them all the juicy details yet. She was taken a bit off guard when he suddenly grabbed her hand. The action caused her to step back a little before catching herself and forcing herself to stop backing off. "Hitomi, Hitomi Fubuki."

Kai gave Hitomi a charming smile as she revealed her name. "Ah, Hitomi-chan, then. It's nice to meet you. As it is to meet you too, Akati-kun." He let go of Hitomi's hand and unrolled the mission briefing, his face suddenly losing most of its smile. It was time to get to business.
"Well, first off you have to know that you are one of the few shinobi who can perform this mission. It's quite an important mission as it involves quite a few important people," Kai briefly looked up for a moment, it seemed that he had a few issues with important people like feudal lords and powerful businessmen, but he didn't comment, "and you have to be careful not to go too far. Yes, normally perhaps more experienced shinobi would be chosen for this mission, but the Raikage has chosen you. This means that he believes in you so don't let him down." Kai smiled reassuringly at them. "Your academy training will have prepared you for this, anyway. It's not anything special.
"The mission is an infiltration and information gathering mission. The situation is this: A very exclusive private school is suspected to be the base of an illegal weapons smuggling operation. You task is to enter the school as students, gather information, and if possible to incapacitate the operation. I will also enter as a teacher and support your efforts - but it's mostly your show. The school is in the city, Kumogami." Kumogami was a nearby metropolis, pretty much on par with the capitals of the world. "We will travel there at noon, check into the inn at night, prepare for the mission... and then you will start school tomorrow." Kai grinned. "It actually sounds quite fun now that I think about it! Good luck! Any questions?"

Akati flopped over as if he was made of some kind of rubber, he could not sustain the feeling in his body for all his thought was on how the heck this could be a simple mission. Finally he realized he was on the ground in a weird position and got up really quickly, and put his hands behind his head in a relaxing manner as if nothing happened.
"What is the mission rank Kai-sensei?" He asked this because he would be able to get an actual idea of how easy or hard it actually was. He heard spy work was only a failure if you gave yourself away, so all he had to do was not tell anyone where he was from. Heck, he was already thinking of an alias and everything.
He looked at Hitomi, wondered how she was reacting all this.

Hitomi smiled at him nodding. it was nice to meet someone else who wasn't in a villager for once. She already knew nearly everyone in Kumo so meeting new people was something that didn't happen often. What she was more interested though was the mans canine companion. While Kai talked Hitomi stretched out her hand in front of the his dog, she didn't pet her though, she had heard that sometimes you needed to let the animal come to you unless you wanted to get bitten.
"Mmm yes it does sound like fun..." She began to think about the mission. She had never been to Kumogami before so it would fun. Fortunately for her she had lived in more then one place so adapting to Kumogami and the mission shouldn't be to hard for her. Hopefully it would be teh same for Akati.

Mawagi was surveying the interaction of the three with the serenity of some kind of omnipotent deity. She let out nary a sound as Kai explained the mission, although she did note the boy's curious desire... to pet her? Perhaps... Mawagi wasn't surprised, many people did that. It seemed that this boy was wise enough to leave animals to their own devices and not treat them as playthings, as many others were wont to do...
The girl in Kai's team also seemed interested in her, more interested than in giving Kai her full attention at any rate, which Mawagi found kind of amusing. Well let it be known that Kai's charms didn't work on everybody. Since the girl seemed to want to get closer to her, Mawagi obliged by steadily loping over to the girl until she was close enough to touch. She sniffed the girl's hand before giving it a few licks. Just to see how the girl tasted.
