This is one of my other favorite and most inspirational books I ever read. It was most likely because it showed a lot of Bradley's personal beliefs which are like my own... a mixture of Catholic upbringing with Wiccan instinct. I think the most memorable parts are where she sees the Grail reflected differently in everyone's eyes and when she relates the Virgin Mary to the Goddess. Juliana Marguelise actually starred in a miniseries TNT did on the "Mists". All in all, it was a pretty decent rendition... yet it left out a lot of the significance and historical worth of the relics as well as the Grail scene. I suppose you have to expect something to be cut out when a book is made a movie (especially a long book like that) but I was really disappointed about the Grail scene being cut because of the religious significance it posed and how it showed that everyone was the same no matter what they believed. Another good series on King Arthur is "The Crystal Cave" by Mary Stewart. It's a trilogy and just as moving as Mists.
Bradley was one of the greatest authors of all time (in my opinion) and it's a shame she died before she could finish the series. At least her notes didn't go to waste and her friend was able to finish what she could not. Another one of my favorite works by her is definitely "Firebrand" which tells the story of the Trojan War from a different perspective... Another inspirational piece in my life.

I've been meaning to read this book for ages and have finally gotten around to it. It was given to me by a friend as a very early birthday present. I'm about 40% through the book right now. I find it a very good read, however utterly depressing it turns out to be. I haven't read a whole lot of books on Arthurian legends, but I think this novel has the potential to be my favorite.

I have Bradley's The Firebrand also sitting on the shelf. I've kind of had a phase of the Trojan War this year so I'll be looking forward to that particular book too.
