Once they'd slowed down enough, Shylock warned the other two to put down their stops on a count of three. He waited till they had registered the message before counting down and stopping.

Trinket was wobbly and unsure but manged to stop without faceplanting or pulling the two boys off balance. The young spawn female was quite proud of herself for that fact. She was just a beginning skater but she was getting the hang of it quickly, at least in her mind.
Nero's fins had flared a bit as his toe picks dug into the ice, still the betta boy found himself stopped safely which made him grin. "We did it shy!"

The spawn grinned at the other two. "Great job both of you!" he said proudly. "Let's take a break for a few, okay?" he suggested, not wanting to tire Nero out by being on the ice too long. "We can sit down for a little while then go back on."

Eventually the three made their way back over to the benches, navigating their way around the rink and other skaters in the process.
Nero leaned on Shylock the moment they sat the little Betta boy using his brother for support while he rested.
Trinket looked thoughtfully as she watched those still out on the rink. "I wish I could skate with Taylor but I don't think they make skates for his feet." She liked skating with Shylock but he wouldn't be around all winter and she didn't want Taylor to think she was stealing his friend when she already worried about him thinking she was taking his house and the rest of his family.

Shy wrapped an arm around his brother and looked contemplative. "You know, given how many people on gaia have weird feet - hooves, claws and such - you'd think they'd have started making skates for those. Just the kind you can put your foot on and tie around it. And maybe they'd come in big, small and medium for different kinds of feet." he said idly. It really was unfair that people like Taylor couldn't try at skating because of something silly like claws.

Trinket shrugged "There's roller skates like that," she knew this becuase Taylor had told her about the time he and Mareike had gone roller skating with another spawn. " Maybe they can't make these type of skates like that?" Though as far as the young girl was concerned she was sure people could make anything they put their mind too so maybe she should just write a skate making company. Letter writing, formal complaining, got results sometime too.

"I dunno. You'd think they'd find a way. Given all the time they spend on making dumb stuff like a shake weight or a cat nail file, you'd think a pair of ice skates for odd feet wouldn't be too hard." Shylock commented with an idle shrug.
