X Dark Serge X Kyrenx Im Mr Turtle animoil6 Kyrenx MAIL IT IN ok that has happened to me i mailed it in and they fixed it just try to before the warranty expires x_x when it happened to me my top screen eventually ALMOST fell off when i ignored it ,_, No can do. I bought my DS from a Flea Market. xd how much? I don't really remember to be honest, but it had been when the DS Lite had been out for at least awhile, so it couldn't have been that much (also considering how much of a cheap skate I can be when it comes to buying anything is usually a factor as well). pirate

I had my DS Light for a year before it broke, my friend dropped it on his tile floor and broke the hinge, and one year later, poof, it was broken. I'm Getting a DSi for christmas, I dont really care about the GBA port cuz I still have my Gamecube with the GBA player on it.

I got my ds lite when it first came out I noticed that the hinge on the right side was starting to crack but the warranty had already expired so I just ignored it. well the first time I brought it outside my little cousin hit it with a football... and broke it the rest of the way. I couldn't get mad at him for it since it was already cracking and it still worked. well his little sister came here and well decided to introduce it to the hard wood floor. and well, my screen is purple. so you can bet that I had a talk with her mother lol. It still workes, but I can't play most games because the color is off. tape is holding the screen on so it doesn't mess up any further. not to happy -_-

Speaking of how durable the consoles are, how about those cartridges, huh? I've lost count of how many times my Mario Kart DS game has survived the washing machine. Saves still intact, works perfectly, everything.
And many years ago I decided to test a theory and took a thick horseshoe and beat the living hell out of one of my gameboy games that I really didn't care about. The result? The cartridge looks pretty damn mangled, but it works just as beautifully as ever. Save still intact, too.
I seem to recall a video where people were testing the overall durability between the Gamecube, XBox and PS2. The PS2 failed the first test (which I think was being dropped from about human height onto solid ground,) and the XBox and Gamecube lasted until the last test where someone slammed them from the side golf-style with a sledge hammer. Gamecube still worked, XBox went pfft.
Nintendo definitely seems good at making durable products, though I...wouldn't want to test that with the Wii. It feels pretty fragile. <_<

Vixanz gah, should i get a ndsi? sadly enough, i have dropped my nds A LOT in the past 2year. Yet somehow it works but just that it flips easily. dsi is much less sturdy, as all they focus on is all the damn features. I still can't believe you can't migrate with them crying

Well I've had my DS lite for 2 years now and it's still ok. Nothing is wrong with it really. It doesn't want to read my brother's pearl version for some reason but whatever. He's getting a DS Lite for Christmas.

I had an original DS once but later on I got the TriForce DS and gave my sister my old one. She broke the right hinge and now its UBER wiggly (she doesn't even play it anyway) Later on I broke my TriForce L button...or R button...i can't remember ANYWAY~ I sent it in (after talking to a person at nintendo for 6 FRIGGIN HOURS!!!!) and the day before I got it back my grandparents got me a DSi (didn't know i had a DS alrdy) So I sold the TriForce one to gamestop and got....something....i can't remember.....Sorry I'm very forgetful lol

How does Nintendo make the systems so durable? Do they consider the fact that 6-year olds might drop them every 10 minutes?

Kyrenx I know the feeling all too well. A moderately sized piece of the hinge on the right side of my DS cracked off when I accidentally dropped it once (first and last time). Other than the wiggly screen when not fully opened, it appears to still work just fine and has lasted me a good year and a half since the accident, at least, and it's still ticking without a problem. That so? I've dropped mine countless times (still do). Eventually, however, a sizeable chunk of hinge broke off during a round of Fire emblem. Still works fine, though, it's a little wiggly.
