The Beginning
Participants: Mew, Mysterious D-Tech, His Dark Cloaked Companion

It was a day unlike other days, much more long and horrible feeling than usual. The sort of day that you just want to lie in bed staring at the ceiling and never get up. But she knew she had to, there were things to tend and issues to resolve, many mouths to feed and friends to speak with. It took her an hour over he usual timing to arise, pulling the silver rimmed covers aside, she trudged out from her bedding in hopes of a brighter night.

The stars were out, and the moon full, a perfect time for being out in the snowfall from the night before. She would conjure up some grub for the family, then run off and make account of things in the Vineyard. But later, she knew well as the thought lingered in the back of her mind, that she would sneak off to make snow angels and play on the frozen pond.

The air was chilled, feeling nice to the skin, but, just to damp to not bundle up well. Mew stared at the ground, watching every little spot she put her foot, leaving fresh imprints behind. She was nervous? But why? She had no idea. Something about walking to the pond seemed very spine tingling, almost like something was supposed to happen.

As she stepped to the edges of the crystalline water, she froze. There, in front of her, sat a man with such odd features, so odd that she couldn't even make out what he was supposed to be. Maybe he was even a she? She pondered on the subject for a mere moment, that is, until he sprang up and jumped clear in front of her.

"You have been chosen because of your actions." He blurted out bluntly, "Please, won't you come with me?"

"Huh?..." In a stumped manor, Mew tilted her head slightly in wonder. "Chosen?...What the hell do that mean? And how do you know anything about MY actions? There isn't any possible way--"

"Please, won't you come with me?" He repeated again.

"You know I could easily rip your--"

"Come with me." He hissed, an annoyed tint taking to all his expressions. His scruffy, pale teal colored hair was blocking any view of his face, and the tightly bound lab coat was not giving any hints at all to the rest of his bodies appearance. It seemed as if every inch of his skin was covered. White fluid stained gloves, thick boots, with very soiled khakis tucked messily into their rims.

"No ******** way." Mew snarled, showing her teeth showing a true to god death threat. "I don't know who you think you are, or why I'd ever consider following you, but why don't you take your zombie a** back to where ever you came from and leave me the hell alone." She was getting ticked, beyond relief. Her tail was thrashing, ears flat against her skull, and with her teeth barred, she continuously growled and spat.

The man did not flinch, he did not move, he did not even seem to breathe, which would make most normal people flinch. But Mew had seen many a creatures in her day, and this one didn't scare her anymore than the last. But she had to admit, their was some strange mist of mysteries surrounding the man, which truly showed as he lifted his head.

There were no eyes on this man, no anything. Just a blank face. Then again, it could be a mask, too, especially since it was split colored, tan to white. The appearance was still awe striking, and a little bit spine tingling, even for Mew.

"Please don't make me force you into coming." The man's voice was smooth and calm, almost entirely free of emotion. He apparently, didn't have a worry in the world, which didn't help Mew in assessing the situation.

"No wa--" But that was the last thing the woman could remember, even to the date.

"Thank you." He spoke with sarcasm, the first true element of a living, striving being he had presented yet. From somewhere in the distance, a tranquilizer had been shot at Mew. If it was the only way to get her to come without ripping someone up, then it was an action they would have to take.

With another cloaked in black at his side, the two mysterious beings loaded up the Mew, to take her off. "Are you sure she's worth all this trouble?" The cloaked man asked, his spiny hands peeking out from his robes.

"Yes, she'll be the perfect add-on to the experiment. I know for sure." And with saying that the man leaped atop a rock outcrop, staring eagerly back at the man, now carrying Mew, he prodded his companion onward, quickly. The heavily unconscious Mew would have no idea that-- from this angering disaster-- she would soon find out that it was one of the best things that would ever wrap it's arms around her legs and hiss at random objects.

Starting Out
Participants: Sahra, Winifred

It had been a long first day, even though it had pasted by fast, the time itself just seemed so important for some reason or another. Flopping down on a stair step, Sahra held in front of her her masterpieces! Some of the best she had done yet--okay, well, maybe not the best, but coloring is coloring, and it is just so much fun! Plus, it was done in class, so, school couldn't be to bad, could it?

A soft groan escaped her tiny lips as she pawed at the paper, staring down at it blankly, she sighed. Her coloring was wonderful, but her handwriting, well, it is just so horrible! It ruins it all. Maybe tomorrow go without the name? She shrugged it off, setting the paper on the step next to her, moving on.

D is for Dragon! Dragons, they must be so awesome! It must be so nice to have a friend that can always be with you, oh how it would be nice for such a thing.

Ever since her arrival in this new place a few weeks before this very moment, Sahra had felt almost lonely, even though she had her new mother and several other brand new family members. All of them were being so kind to her. Winifred-- although the odd feline-wolf hybrid was constantly playing dress up with her-- was a nice companion to have. But Sahra wanted someone more of her own age to play with, instead of being corralled by grown-ups, like Mommy, Yin, and Winny all the time.

But she couldn't complain, she was beginning a fun new life were she was learning lots of new things. Not to mention Aja, her mothers once nearly constant companion, was often trekking after her, counseling her, even playing with her from time to time in one of his many animal forms. Her big family barely even needed to adjust for her arrival.

"Sahra~!" Winifred bounced out through the front entrance, greeting the young girl in a loud babyish tone. "How was your first day? Ready for lunch? Then we can go play!" The young woman grinned as she curtsied with her knee high icy blue sun dress, the black ribbons tied in bows around her upper arms swishing as she twirled.

Sahra blinked, feeling somewhat out of place as she stopped her gait in front of the wayward woman. She knew what she meant by 'play,' it actually meant dressing her up in frilly pink clothes some more, and tying ribbons all up on her tail and in her hair, around her neck, even on her arms. She wasn't sure if she wanted that sort of attention today, or not. "Urr, I gonna gooo..."

"Go where, hun?" Fiddling with her furry white tail, Winifred's ears shot upward and seemed to sprawl themselves out as she realized what the cub was trying to do. "No no, you aren't escaping my wrath, Sah!" She giggled, not meaning it literally, although a four year old might not understand such a thing. "We're going to have fun, you'll see." And with that remark the woman grabbed Sahra's hand, and dragged her off inside.

She haulted in the kitchen, pulling the child's bag off from around her shoulders, and setting down her 'masterpieces' on the kitchen table for Mew to view at her leisure, later. "Now tell me, what do you want for lunch, deary?"

Sahra was huffing out of displeasure, being directed to sit in a chair at the table, she sighed, but obeyed Winifred's simple orders. "Too-key wich." She mumbled, digging a claw into the top of the wood table. "An joos."

Winny had to stop for a moment, pondering on the girls words, in an attempt to figure out what the words meant. "Too...key? Oh wait. Turkey you mean? Alright." She bounced over to the fridge, and pulled out some lunch meat, some bread, and butter, which she knew Sahra liked on her sandwiches. She wasn't sure if she knew what 'joos' was, but she had enough of an idea, it sounded like 'juice,' but she couldn't be entirely sure. She would have to attempt to give the girl some sort of beverage out of the fridge, and hope she liked it.

The Great Journey
Participants: Sahra, Winifred

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Igloo? What's it made of? Some sort of shiny something maybe? That's make it so pretty. Clear as glass and shiny like some of Mommy's bracelets she had found just the other day in a drawer while exploring her room. She knew she wasn't supposed to go into her mothers room with out asking her first, but the urge to explore the entirety of the house was just to overwhelming for the tot. She had already raided Mabyn's room on several occasions, pulling down all her books and flipping through the pages, hiding under her covers and playing with her spin-go-round globe thing. She sure loved to play with it! And it had such interesting markings and colors all over it's surface. She wondered if she could get up on it and spin around on it? She would have to try!

Sahra had also been in Winifred's room on several occasions, having been pulled in their for their games of dress up. The woman treated her like a doll; didn't she have anything better to do with her spare time? Yin was always reading, or cooking. Winny took care of Kobane, the young cub whom the family had gotten not long before her. Couldn't she baby and dress that cat up, instead of her? She liked ribbons, too, but not that much.

Jello-- No, even better, Green Jello! Sahra mewed, pawing at the picture she grinned happily, feeling accomplished, she gathered up all of her papers and ran upstairs to play in her pile of pillows. But she desperately wanted her Mommy to see her new work, to show her she was being good and making progress in school. So she quickly ran to her room, shoving the papers under her door, knowing better than to disturb her Mommy. She had already tried that once, and ended up in time out without any treats for the night. That was horrible, indeed.

Giggling as her quest was finally finished, Sahra stalked slowly down the long, skinny hall-- no, gorge, on a dry river bed, awaiting something cruel and evil to pounce at her from the shadows. "I will mayk et!" She announced, pulling out her mighty bow (a stick...); she would shoot anything that got in her way!

Winifred slowly stepped out of her room, angelic-like silver wings folded neatly at her back, preoccupied with some sort of folder she was holding in her hand, no doubt some more of her paperwork, entering the hallway not far ahead from the stalking cheetah. She didn't even see the girl, much less acknowledge she was there. That was a mistake.

Oh no! A large, ugly hairy, winged snake rose out of the shadows, snarling at her, beckoning that she could not pass! "Bakk yew ebil!" She pulled back at an imaginary bow-string, and shot a shining arrow of light at the creature. Score; right in the head! "Yew will DIEE!" Sahra shot forward, pouncing on the terrifying creature as it ran backward in fear.

"AHH!" Winifred stumbled backward, as a spotted blur landed right on top of her, she lost grip of her folder, papers flying every which way. "Wah?...Sahra? Why'd you do that?" She sighed, watchingher papers float all over the place. Now she would have to start all over again, and re-organize the papers she needed to turn in in the morning. Great! It had taken her an hour just to do that. Looks like Yin would be cooking dinner tonight, in her place, even though it was her turn.

"Be gawn ebil!" Sahra shouted, poking the 'ebil' with the end of her 'bow.' It was gone! Now she could progress on ward to her lair in safety, and not have to worry about something jumping out at her. She shot up, stepping right on top of Winny, she jumped off of her, and skipped along to her room to play alone some more.

"That child really needs someone to play with..." Winny moaned as she rubbed her head, she had slammed it against the floor when she fell backwards. Not to mention the girl didn't even bother to roll off her or something, but simply stepped all on her. "What a night."

Two Kittens, a Drawing, and Hidden Intentions
Participants: Sahra, Adriel, Mew, Mabyn

User Image It had been a long day, although the air was chilled and fresh, Sahra had felt a sort of heat illuminating about her as she ran. A fun filled day with lots of adventure and even learning, she was now well aware to stay away from anything that felt wet and splashed. Water was not a good thing, especially in the cold of winter. Adriel, a kitten that had been given as a gift to Mabyn for Christmas, was now her new friend! Sah took an almost immediate liking to the splotchy colored kitty, and vise versa. Afterwards, they went out and wandered about, screwing around, and eventually venturing to the riverbed were Sahra had fallen in. It hadn't been a very good day for the girl, and the water now frightened her deeply. But she had survived her ordeal, which really was the important thing.

And now that it's later in the day, Sahra and Addy had managed to settle themselves down. Addy sleeping on her bedside, Sahra managing to capture a short moment of peace. Grabbing her slate, she plopped down in her bright blue bean bag chair, letting herself settle down into its soft fibers, she drew the sleeping kitty.

***

Mew sighed, sitting back in her desk chair; she closed the book and stuffed it away into the top drawer of her hardwood desk. She really did need to be more organized, but at the current moment, she didn't really care. Dazed, and slightly confused, she wondered more on the subject of her cousin, Winifred. The girl was beginning to go through some very tough situations, and wasn't acting anything like her usual, bubbly, cheerful self. But didn't for long, she had somewhere she had to be, she just hoped that Winifred-- despite her issues-- and Mabyn wouldn't mind keeping an eye on Sahra for a while. She arose slowly, stretching as she dragged herself to the doorway of her room. "Yin!" She called down the hallway, yawning and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She had been so used to a more nocturnal life, but, since she had brought Sah home, she had had to stay up more or so in the morning to take her to school, unless one of the girls decided they felt up to doing it.

The sound of hushed foot prints echoed in the hall as a furry being approached her, ears and tail twitching contently; she tilted her head as she spoke. "Yes Mew?" She said calmly, "You're going out now, right?" It wasn't an uncommon occurrence, it was dark outside now, so the nocturnal feline would be pressing on into the night to do only the gods knew what she always did. Mabyn hoped for her safety, what ever it may mean.

Mew nodded slightly, walking past the cat girl. "Make sure she gets to bed at a decent hour, she has school tomorrow." She really didn't want to leave Sahra, since Mew usually went to bed after she picked Sahra up, and usually sleeps soundly until dusk, this was the normal time of day she spent with her daughter. She shrugged the thought off, this had to be done. She just couldn't afford to leave her client standing by, it would make the situation less hidden in it's awkwardness, the more time she took. "I'm sorry." She said simply, as she jumped out the window.

Mabyn sighed, that woman was always leaving her daughter. It was bad enough she didn't spend any time with the child during the day, but now she was exiting just when the two usually spent a few hours playing? That just wasn't right. Stepping out of the room in a fiery, she slammed the door behind her, unaware that the child she had been charged with looking after was already asleep.

Padding down the hallway, she slipped into Sahra's room. "Sah are you two ba--" But she quickly realized that the pair she had come looking was was already fast asleep on the cheetah's bed. Addy was curled up close to Sahra; but the girl was shivering. "Best not catch a cold." Yin tugged at a blanket or two and pulled them securely over the two sleeping banshees. "Sleep well." She sand melodiously.

User Image It was hard for me to believe that Winifred finally came home. But something was very different about her...she just seems so, well, unlike herself. But Sah has never met her cousin, or better yet we'll say her Aunt, so she doesn't know that these odd moods of Winny's aren't anything like her. I just hope, for the sake of them both, that Sahra doesn't get the wrong impression! Oh, that would be such a disaster. After I got Sah, I had always thought for sure that her and Winny would click right away. But growls, the unwillingness to talk, and the dirt and blood stained robes don't exactly give her a good image.

I tried to talk to both Sahra and Winifred, but it seems neither want anything to do with the subject, so, I guess I'll just let it go for the time being. Other than that I think everything has been going relatively well! Sah is adjusting well to life around this place, always playing outside with the animals. Especially Saki, those two seem to stick to one another like glue.

But something did strike me as odd; the other day when Sah and I had come back from D-Corp, she had gone straight outside. And somehow she ended up near the pond, and the oddest thing happened after that. Nen came bounding out, provoked for no reason at all. But luckily, she didn't scare Sahra too badly. I just hope everyone around here can get along; our family has grown so much. But I just know everyone will take care of each other, and Sahra will fit in perfectly.

Oh, and one last thing, I know this is completely getting off subject of what I was writing about (even though I am probably the only one that will ever read this) but I helped Sah work on her writing of her name. I am proud to say that she has improved quite a bit! I think we'll start practicing more.

Stuck with Yin
Participants: Sahra, Mabyn

User Image Running excitedly out of her room, Sahra's arms were flailing happily, a piece of paper firmly grasped between her tiny furred fingers. "Mommy!?" She squealed out, bouncing around the hallway. "Come 'err! Want to show you something~" She skipped around in circles, the paper swaying back and forth in her hand, as the ends of a green ribbon tied around the end of her tail did. It was a pretty dark green, and Winny had tied it in a pretty bow. She really liked it! It was so simple, not like the millions of lengths of pink ribbons Winny usually tied around her.

Mabyn jumped at hearing the young girls cries, falling out of her seat were she had been attempting at more of her reading. "Wha? Oh..." It had startled her and that was it! She nodded to herself, almost embarrassed, but relieved to know no one was there to have seen her. She got to her feet, and as she turned to run out the doorway, she about tripped over something. She wasn't quite sure what.

"Who--oops." Yin grabbed the door frame, not wanting to fall again she looked down at what lie below her; two bright twinkling green eyes staring up at her. "Sah?" She said with a soft smile, "What is it? Is there something you need?"

"Want to show Mommy something..." She replied in a quiet tone, lifting the paper in her right hand and waving it to signal why. She had another masterpiece that her Mommy needed to approve of. She remembered that she had to make her mother proud of her, yes she did, even if she was always gone a lot. It never seemed to phase Sahra from caring deeply for her mother, she simply thought that it was normal, like all parents did it to their young. It might just be the instinct of a cub kicking in, not to follow their parent off to make a kill, rather stay behind, and safely hidden. But what ever it was, it didn't bother her.

"Oh." Yin replied, "I don't think Mommy is home right now. So why don't you show me for now? I am sure she'll love it though! You are such a good little colorer." Mabyn was always fascinated with the young girls artwork, since she was not much of an artist herself, she enjoyed seeing what the tot could come up with on her own time.

Sahra nodded, sighing under her breath, she handed the paper to Yin as her tail wrapped around her leg in a nervous fashion. What would she think of her newest masterpiece? She was anxious to find out, and Yin taking forever to look over the paper didn't help one bit!

"I like it!" She purred, kneeling down next to the girl. "Why don't we go to your room and color some more? I'd like to see some more~" She was being truthful, but was also using it as a reason to get the girls mind off of her mother. She knew Mew would not be back for some time, and she didn't want the girl feeling lonely. Even though she had Adriel to play with, she needed someone she could talk to. besides, if she didn't, that baby talk of her's would never get any better!

Sah nodded, grabbing Mabyn's hand she pulled her off towards her own room. She could have fun with Mabyn, too, just like Mommy. Or at least she hoped she could, because she really wanted to play color with someone other than her kitten friend. Addy was no good at coloring; all the little kitty ever did was get paint and paw prints all over the floor and walls.

User ImageSahra bounced around happily, having had an extremely good day in school, although it had been longer than she was used to, and having learned so much. She darted quickly from her room into Mew's, fist full of papers, her dissemination was just straight across the hallway. "Mommy!!!" She screeched, voice filled with much joy. Normally she wouldn't have just barged into Mew's room, but today she just couldn't help it. It was around the time she normally got up, anyways. "Show ya thes'?" She padded slowly to the silver colored bedside, tugging on her mothers shirt; Sahra whined, trying to get her attention. "Mommy?..." But still there was no response.

It seemed the woman was completely out, like a light bulb that had just burnt out and could not manage anymore light! Sighing heavily, she slumped over, but it did not take her long before she headed out of the room back into her own. Looks like she was tucking herself in tonight; she had laid the papers on the large silver toned bed before she had exited. She jumped into her large pile of pillows and plushies, cuddling up with a random large spotted cat-like plushie. Where was Mabyn and Winny? Normally one of them was rummaging around, and hearing the girls panic, one would come and play with her. But no one seemed to be around tonight. Not even Addy!

It's almost funny to look back upon everything that has happened in the past few weeks, it's been so eventful. From the oddest of things, to the sweetest of things I'll probably ever experience. I admit I am taking advantage of this time in Sahra's life, I mean, when she gets older, she won't want to play, and cuddle, and be with me anymore. She'll probably want to be off on her own. And for some reason, that just scares me half to death, the fact that she is growing up so fast...it seems like just yesterday that she had been given to me. And I think that is one day, another one that I will most definitely remember for the rest of my life.

I really do not know what I would have done with out Sahra, after the recent incidents with my Grandparents, life has been tough, even if I don't always show it. But that's not what really matters, is it? My little cheetah girl, well, she's maturing and learning so fast. Her eyes have finally opened, and are beginning to see and learn how vast the world around her really is. She is becoming a bit more on the mischievous side, wandering off to look around every now and then. But that's okay, because I know if I call her loud enough, she will always come back to me. She has helped me to see that just in the last few days. And she has shown me so much more.

The Form!
Participants: Sahra, Mew

User Image "Waz thawt?" Sahra asked, staring at a piece of paper spread out on the table. It looked almost important, at least somewhat? But what was her Mommy going to do with it, possibly? She couldn't imagine, well, maybe she could, a million things beside what it actually was! Maybe an important King wanted her Mommy to come to a distant land and fight an evil monster! Maybe she could meet a Knight or even a Jester, too! Or maybe, maybe it was a secret document that showed the way to a chest of that buried treasure, stuff! Were they going to get lots of new, shiny jewels?

"Okay Sah, you need to fill this out for D-Corp. I'll help you, if you need it, it shouldn't be to hard." She sighed, having been messing around with the house interior all day, she was tired and restless. Mew hadn't yet slept a wink, in fact, it had been about two days time now since she'd even lied down for any length of time. It was early in the morning, and just about time for her to go to bed. She had gotten feed up enough light the previous day, she didn't want to put herself through more hell again.

"Oh say, okee..." Disspointed that it wasn't something fun and interesting, like she had thought of only moments before, Sahra sighed slightly and mumbled a chirp under her breathe. She jumped up into the chair, having already had a green marker in her hand, from god knows what she had been doing (drawing on the walls, ohnoes) she slowly attempted to read over the simple questions, and wrote down her answers to the best of her ability.

"Good girl Sahzy. Now I'll take this and fold it up all nice and neat and put it in an envelope and send it in to D-Corp." Mew raised an eyebrow at the marker in her daughters hand, what had she been doing up until now? She had managed to keep herself occupied most of the afternoon this Saturday, when normally she would be out playing with Winifred or Mabyn. Wait, did she even want to know what she had been doing with that marker?

"Coolers Mommeh, and oh, you sho see! Preettay mark'ns all over!" She grinned, pointing towards the utility room, she had been hiding out there pretty much all afternoon, drawing all over the washer, dryer, and the wallpaper on the lower parts of the walls.

"Oh no..." Mew eyes grew large. "On no, no, no..." She mumbled these things in a whisper, only loud enough for herself to hear, despite the girl not being far away. She imagined in her mind's eye the possibilities of what Sahra could have done. She didn't want to look, and she wasn't going to. She'd leave it for Winny or Yin to find.

Time just seems to pass right on by now-a-days, like seeds in the springtime breeze. So many things have happened in these past few weeks, almost to many things to keep up with. Sahra has been excelling in school, as I had originally expected, and seems to be getting along quite well. Her days normally consist of class, playtime, and wandering throughout the woodlands. It doesn't bother me a bit to know that she is off in the surroundings, even though it is while I sleep. I trust in all of my companions to keep her safe.

My cub is blossoming, having developed a stronger personality. I have come to find that while dealing with unfavorable situations it is a very good idea to show Sahra that it can also be a game. She seems to play her way through life, joyfully and with quite a bit of experience, nothing escapes her gaze.

But as time drags on through the misty twilight of the future I cannot help but think about the wretched events that have been happening within me. My sickness is growing increasingly worse by the day, and I am beginning to think my days may be limited. I have been out in the daylight far much more than I should be, and I am most definitely paying for it all now. I can barely walk and yet I manage to stumble along every day to see to it that Sahra gets home. My body always seems to be soaked in sweat, my strength escaping my grasp as I attempt to do my everyday chores in the household. How long will this go on for? I do not know, but I hope it will not be long, for it is growing hard to keep this from Sahra's eyes. And with many new additions to the family, one being of particular importance.
