He stands and moves to one of his shelves, pulling out a short scroll. He proceeds to hand it to the two. "This scroll dictates that any local shop keeper provide you with one magical item. See if you can find anything useful, and upon your return, you shall receive your payment in a bag of holding."

((If tis alright with thee, I'll go with celestial armor. +3 chain mail, +8 max dex, -2 check penalty, 15% arcane spell failure, 20lbs, counts as light armor, and allows wearer to fly on command as per spell. I believe being able to not get hit is more important than hitting someone far away.))

When the two return the mage holds out two bag for the men and promptly tosses them into the next chamber.

Clipping the bag of holding onto his waist he glanced over the surroundings. Walking off of the pond, he called his bear over and put on cold weather gear.
"Well, if he knew this place was snow covered I think he would of mentioned it."

The combined weight of the two men on the ice, was sufficient to cause it to begin to break.
