Final Fantasy XIII, and XIV (love MMOs), God of War 3 looks amazing as well.
Heavy Rain I'm excited for since it shows what the PS3 can do, but I'm not 100% about the gameplay style, but when it comes out I'll definitely try it. Those are pretty much the only games I've been keeping track of.

I'm telling you guys. If any of you liked Mass Effect-ish style of gameplay, you should read into Alpha Protocol.

Yuuki Rosaro Shadow__Dweller haha. Well I'm not interested in any of the franchises that are releasing sequels. I don't know of any "new" games that have alreay been mentioned but I'm sure as soon as I am aware of some there will be some I'm excited about. Here's some games which have no proper lineage but come from reliable publishers or interesting concepts: Heavy Rain - The trailers may make it seem dry but trust us on this one, at least try and check out Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy sometime between now and march. MAG - If shooters are sorta your thing then I cant imagine asking for more than a game prepped to be the first 128-player online FPS on any console. DC Universe - If you ever played City of Heroes/Villains then this is the next step. An MMORPG based around super-heroes instead of the generic Tolkien and Lucas settings the rest seem to live in. I've heard about Heavy Rain and I'm interested but not excited about it. I'll have to look into it more 3nodding

Well, then, play Indigo Prophecy. It's only $10 on Steam. And once you get a feeling for what that game is like, imagine that, only a whole lot better, and that's Heavy Rain.

I've already played it, although it was called Fahrenheit in the UK. I quite liked it actually. I've just heard that there will be a new Prince of Persia game out next year at the same time as the movie, and it'll be a return to the original trilogy..the storyline and style of gameplay will return to that..so now I'm really excited about that.

Well, Heavy Rain is gonna be kinda like that, only without a supernatural element, so it's just gonna focus on realism, but it's gonna give you a lot more choices, and even things like, if one character dies, you can still continue the game, and the story would change accodringly.
Wait, are you saying they're remaking Sands of Time? That's kinda pointless, isn't it? Just for a graphical upgrade. On a semi-Prince of Perisa, semi-bragging rights note, I actually met the actor who voiced the Prince in the Sands of Time trilogy. He's really cool.

I heard this too, though I'm a bit sceptical about it for now. I know the new Prince of Persia was pure guff but back peddling is a bad sign. For now I've accepted Prince of Persia was dead and Assassin's Creed was it's spiritual successor after Prince of Persia got retarded and turned into an anime-wannabe, and though taking it away from that stupid setting I feel they get no points for originality for just going back to a formula that works instead of trying to fix their new idea.

Well, they could just try something new altogether. Like, cartoony prince doesn't work? Try a dark and horror filled prince of persia, with more violence than Warrior Within. Kinda like, Prince of Persia meets Soul Reaver or something.

The sad thing is, if they do remake Sands of Time, people are probably gonna jump all over it anyway.

I can't think of a remake which was greater received (NOTE: Greater recieved, not "more enjoyable") than it's original, with the only exception I can think of being Resident Evil 1.

Well, I really liked the Metal Gear Solid remake, but it really was unnecessary, so soon. I think they only made it so that the GameCube could have a Metal Gear exclusive for it, without depriving the Sony crowd of storyline.
But yeah, the Resident Evil remake is definitely the way remakes should be done. The thing is, the original RE, charming and beloved as it was, had a lot of flaws, and so a remake was logical.
With other games, aside from inferior graphics, there was really nothing that was necessary to improve on.
I'd like to see a remake of the original Contra, only completely rehashed, Bionic Commando style. Contra needs a revival. Same with Double Dragon.
But hey, this isn't about games that we'd WANT, it's about games that we're actually getting. I picked up the new episode of Qore on the PlayStation Network, and all three games it talked about actually got me interested. Dark Void, The Saboteur and White Knight Chronicles. Definitely gonna pay attention to them.

He's really cool. no they're not remaking it, they're carrying on the same story with the same character is all. The gameplay is going to be more like that than in the last Prince of Persia which was aimed at a completely new audience - people who thought the original trilogy was difficult. they made it really easy and pointless in my opinion. so they're gunna make the next game like those originals to please the "old" fans...so I'm pretty happy about that. Prince of Persia will never be "dead" as long as it continues to make games just as exciting and beautiful as those original 3...rather than like the last one.

Oh, so you're saying it's gonna be another sequel to the trilogy. Okay, that's not so bad.
Although to be fair, saying, "Like the originals to please the old fans" isn't entirely accurate. Afterall, the original was a 2D platformer on NES. Which they recently remade too.
