"It's not stupid," Rea replied, her eyes focusing firmly on Eve, "You're worried about your friend. There is never anything stupid about that."
She might have been misinterpreting Eve's words, but she brushed the thought away. The statement was true regardless -- she didn't think it was stupid that Elzo had fallen in love either. Although she herself was not much of a romantic (quite the opposite, in fact) but she was glad that the flirt had found someone he cared about. She wouldn't have expected it of him, but she was happy none the less. It did bother her, however, that the girl he had chosen was on the other team. In a very real way, Rea felt sad for him. Nothing good could come from the Negaverse. She picked at the blanket idly, thinking.
"You want me to go as well."
It was a statement rather than a question, and one she was pretty sure she already knew the answer to. Still, it was best to be sure. A few moments rolled by as she thought, blue-green eyes still focused intently on Eve, expression distressed but thoughtful.
"...I think it'd be best... if we try to dissuade him first," She spoke up again after a few moments of silence, sighing a little. She didn't know Elzo very well, but she had a sinking suspicion he was going to go ahead with what he wanted to do anyway, with or without their help. She continued. "If he's set on going, I'll go with you."

"Yes." Eve replied, giving Rea her best puppy-dog pout; how could Rea say no to this face and helping Elzo (as annoying as Rea seemed to think he was) free himself from the spell this Negaverse girl set on him? Eve was determined to help him get over Linarite. For as much as she loved matchmaking, and that this 'forbidden relationship' would be a challenge she would have gladly picked up...this was too dangerous for her to close one eye. Elzo could die. Both of them could die. Not that she particularly cared for Linarite; she didn't even know the girl.
"He seems pretty adamant about it." She said. "And serious. It's scary seeing him serious." She rather felt bad for telling Elzo she couldn't go with him, because now he wouldn't tell her when he was going. What if he had gone after he sent her back to Crystal Academy? Eve groaned and slumped down at this thought, grabbing her pillow to hold it over her face in the process. "I'll text him." She mumbled into the pillow. "Thank you." Thank you for agreeing, Rea.

Oh. That pout. No one could be immune to that pout, not even her -- it made Rea glad that she had already decided she would go, because she would have felt very guilty. The fact that Eve thought she would say anything besides that she agreed surprised her a little though. Perhaps she didn't realize just how important she was to her. If that were the case, Rea was hesitant to say anything, sitting stone-still there on the bed, her eyes lingering on Eve's slumped form.
She was... really upset about this. Something about it shouldn't have surprised her, and yet it did anyway, eyebrows furrowing a little as she tried to understand. Perhaps it was just that people had never been especially accepting of her, but beyond the feeling of duty to save those in trouble, Rea didn't get especially upset with other people's problems. Eve's were different -- she had shown an exceptional kindness towards her. Charys was different too, but less so, in a way -- she was still feeling reserved towards the girl, finding it difficult to accept the fact that the girl may actually be attracted to her.
Beyond that, Rea didn't usually feel much concern for others, making this scenario a mystery to her. She didn't get the feeling that Eve had had a prolonged friendship with Elzo. Not beyond this year, anyway. It was just Eve's way, she guessed. One of those things that made Eve the happy, cheerful everyone loved to love.
"Eve... you're my best friend," Rea offered in a reserved, awkward voice, giving her an embarrassed look, "Had you told me to jump off a cliff, I would have done it without hesitation."
Boy, that didn't sound stalkerish at all. This was why she didn't talk.

Despite herself being rather grumpy, and not being able to see Rea's expression as her face was still covered by the pillow, she smiled and the pillow slowly shifted downwards until she was hugging it instead. Eve said straight up and smiled at Rea, giggling. "I wouldn't do that, silly. Tell you to jump off a cliff, I mean."
But it was sweet. It was touching to know that Rea considered her as a best friend and so, entirely on impulse, she skipped over to where Rea was and hugged her. "I just hope he doesn't die, you know." She mumbled softly.

Rea relaxed visibly when that pillow was lowered from Eve's face, giving her an amused look. "Thank you. I appreciate it, believe me," She replied, giving her one of her rare smiles, her tone a sarcastic tease. It was small and unused, but her humor was in there, somewhere. If she were completely honest, she would have sighed heavily in relief. She was more than glad that Eve was giggling -- that was a very good sign.
Despite the heartfelt confession she had just tortured her roommate with, Rea was surprised as the girl got up, and was even more surprised when she came skipping over, warm arms suddenly around her. Impulsively she opened her arms, even before she realized what was going on, and then she was hugging her too, her expression comically worried, (ohgoddon'thugmeIamacoldfish,) but it passed quickly.
"He won't. We'll make sure of it."
