Life is short-I am not I think Ron was better suited for a slytherin. When he looked into the mirror of erised, he saw himself better than all of his brothers. He saw himself as an extreemly important individual. This shows that he wants to be the center of attention because he is the best. this is further enhanced in that he doesn't shirk his responsibilities as a prefect, but he doesn't enforce the rules enough to make himself not liked by other students. He keeps the position without becoming unpopular with the fellow students. this is one of the begining signs that he belonged in slytherin. Wow, that's a really good point. I never noticed it.

I think Ron was more of a Hufflepuff if his courage was not pointed out on some moments.

Ron wasn't cunning. Or clever. Or amazingly brave. He was just there. Like a spare. So, yes, he should have been in Hufflepuff.

No, not like a spare, Matt. Ron's rather... well, normal. Well, just by thinking of it, he's rather a Gryffindor since he's brave now. He's not much of a Hufflepuff since he seem lazy to be one. XD

I actually thought that Hermione would have fit well into any of the houses. She was always steadfastly loyal to Harry, which is a Gryffindor trait. She was extremely intelligent and valued knowledge like the Ravenclaws. She was also very hardworking like the Hufflepuffs. And as a muggleborn she felt the need to prove herself like a Slytherin. I think her personal choice ways in heavily in this case because she had stated on the train that she wanted to be in Gryffindor because Albus Dumbledore was a Gryffindor.
Ron I thought lacked the traits of all the houses. He didn't value knowledge; his ambitions were merely wants that he didn't seem to try to work his way towards; he wasn't exceptionally hard working; and he wasn't loyal in the least. I think he ended up in Gryffindor because that was what was expected of him. Though he did have that foolhardy brashness of Gryffindors to jump first ask questions later.
I think Draco ended up in the house that he belonged in. His very world revolved around his father and his sole ambition was to be just like Lucius. Draco was always working towards that end - insulting muggleborns and gathering 'followers'. In the end, I think he found out that his ambitions had changed and that he didn't truly want to be like his father anymore - a man who was imprisoned in Azkaban for following the ideals of a madman.

Sanguine Lupis Voldemort wasn't mad. Just evil. I don't think he was evil. I think that life was unkind to him and he lashed out in return. I wish J.K. Rowling would have expanded more on how he started the Death Eaters, because surely they all didn't just join to kill muggles.

They joined because they wanted power, a leader, or as Dumbledore says, "Someone to show them more refined methods of cruelty."

Sanguine Lupis They joined because they wanted power, a leader, or as Dumbledore says, "Someone to show them more refined methods of cruelty." Was power the only ploy though? I mean, surely some of them were smart enough to notice that joining Voldemort meant that they would be bowing down before another human being.

People like Lucius obviously saw that they could gain something from joining. He thought that Voldemort was going to achieve dominion over the Wizarding world, so he joined to stay in favour.
