Watching the other girl summon a weapon and leap, Saiph groaned inwardly. Why couldn't these guys just take their beating and leave? Still, no time for inner contemplation now. Grabbing the girl she'd rescued, she pulled her up and leapt as well. Maybe not as far as her opponent, but far enough to keep them out of reach for a few seconds longer.
That was still a part of her new double life that she marveled at. Being able to move and leap and fight as she did wasn't something that Gabbie Ivanovitch would ever have been able to do. But Sailor Saiph could. And would.
And there the witch was, swinging a set of heavy jumper cables down at her. Twisting wildly, she felt the things hit her shoulder and grunted in pain. She'd have a hell of a bruise come daylight. There was no help for it, she was going to have to use another Tail Thrash if she wanted this rescue to be successful.

Alkaid's eyes widened slightly as she saw the purple blur leap up into the air, losing sight of her as she went too high and unable to tell what she was doing. This blurry vision thing was beginning to become a bit of a pain.
She barely saw the movement of the other senshi before she was upon her, and once she was, Alkaid really wished she'd just left her there on the pavement. She felt the ground rush out from beneath her feet as they surged through the air in one long leap, her head and stomach swimming. As they landed, the jolt felt like a stab to the skull, and she let out one long groan as she clung to the fuku of the girl at her side.
Being in such close proximity, she felt the air from the end of the jumper cable as it whizzed by her head, resisting the urge to jump back for fear of hurting herself again. She needed to help, she realized, do something for this girl that had come here to help her. Her attack wasn't much, but it would stun her a little, maybe. She brought up her hand, opened her mouth, and began to shout out - but stopped as soon as the first syllable passed her lips. Pain blossomed over her face from the direction of her nose and she nearly doubled over in nausea.

If there was one thing that could be said for Tanzanite, it would be that she was completely and utterly tenacious. Once she'd set her sights on something, there would be no pulling her loose. She would come at them, over and over, until she was either unable to give chase or was starting with a self-satisfied smile at their beaten, bloodied corpses. She followed through with the momentum of the cables after they'd clipped Saiph's shoulder.
The she was swinging them around again, bearing down on Saiph with an expression that was cold, unforgiving, and entirely merciless. Her entire body screamed with the pain of every moment, but it was not loud enough to drown out the voice that pushed her forward. The one in the back of her head that was clawing at every rational thought and telling her to kill, kill, kill.
Another one of those tail lashes would put her out of commission, and her prey would be able to run. Tanzanite just had to hope she was fast enough.

Shitshitshitshit! Saiph bit back a snarl and grabbing the other senshi, muttered a brusque apology before launching them both into the air again. She had to time this just right.
"Hold onto me," she whispered, hoping the girl could hear and obey. "Hold on tight and whatever you do, don't let go."
Keeping one arm around the wounded senshi, she pulled back the other as if she was getting ready to throw a punch. Only, instead of a tightly balled fist, her hand was outspread and beginning to glow faintly as she called up every ounce of power she had. Please let this be enough, she thought, watching as Tanzanite came barrelling at them. Narrowing her eyes, she watched carefully, doing her best to calculate distance and speed.
One more leap and she threw her free hand out, howling the words, "Tail Thrash!" As always, the elation she felt as she set her power free left her giddy for half a second. In the night sky, the glow from the city lights nearly drowned out the soft, faint sparkling of the attack energy. Nearly. But to Saiph's eyes it seemed to fill the sky as it hurtled directly for Tanzanite's chest.

Alkaid felt the rush as the other Senshi leaped up again, feeling her head reel from surge. She couldn't pass out, not as that whisper was still echoing through her ears. She needed to stay awake and alert and try her hardest to stick this out.
"Alright," she croaked, curling her arms tightly around the torso of the Senshi that had come to her rescue. She was just an observer in this battle now, an injured one but an observer none-the-less. Her fate depended solely upon this girl's ability to beat that mad purple-haired witch.
Her eyes narrowed, tried to focus on what was happening. She saw a flow of light, bright in her eyes for its close proximity, but confusing with her blurred vision. She drew in a deep breath as she watched its path, hoping it hit its target. She just wanted this to end.

Tanzanite was mid-jump, and there was no way to stop the attack. She watched it hurtling towards her with an outraged expression. There was nothing she could do. Nothing. She felt the force of it mid-chest, head spinning as her body was flung through the air. Her back hit the brick wall of one building with a sickening crack, a couple of the bricks buckling beneath the force of the impact. Her head took a second blow as the momentum rocked it back against the wall. The world spun as Tanzanite slid down the brick, a trail of blood following the path of her hair down to where she fell, crumpled in a pile.
For a moment she was still. Hell, she looked almost dead. It was only a moment, though, before those eyelids fluttered and fingers twitched. Grey irises greeted the world as her lids slowly parted, one hand clawing at the pavement in front of her to drag her battered body out of the pile in which it laid. There were at least a few broken ribs now, likely several fractures. Tanzanite had not been in the best of shape going into the battle, and she sure as hell wasn't going to be coming out of it. She was conscious, though, and that meant that she was still focused on the pair.
Her attempt to stand ended poorly, the wound to the back of her head making the world a merry-go-round on which she could not find her balance. Grey eyes narrowed as she clawed at the wall for support, looking half-crazed as she struggled to stand. From her throat tore a guttural, wordless scream of rage. She couldn't move, couldn't even stand, but that would not stop her from trying. Gaze focused on the two of them, her breathing coming in heavy, painful pants, she made a promise to herself then and there.
Somehow, someday, she would kill the both of them. For now, however, there were going to get away. They were going to get away, and there wasn't s**t she could do about it.

Satisfied that they wouldn't be chased this time, Saiph kept her hold on her rescuee and bolted, leaping through the night as she put as much distance as possible between them and that dead-eyed witch. Her need to get away intensified as the echo's of that scream of rage echoed in her ears.
Though, she couldn't help glancing back over her shoulder. And though she doubted the other'd hear, she still murmured, "Me and you'll have to do this dance again sometime. Next time, though, I won't let you get back up."
Sighing, she finally stopped fleeing once she judged them a safe distance away and definitely out of sight. Setting the other girl down, she hovered worriedly over her and began to gently probe and check gently for broken bones. They'd gotten away safe. She'd focus on that for now.

Alkaid watched as the pile of rubble fell down on their enemy with a relief she should have felt guilty for. Enemy or not, she'd always been taught to respect life, so to find herself hoping that the girl simply stayed down was almost.. unsettling. Almost, except that she could still feel the pain swelling over her face as a constant reminder that she was in fact the enemy.
Then, she saw her blurry form begin to drag itself out. Was this girl bloody immortal? For a moment she thought they were doomed, that she would just keep coming and keep coming until they had nothing left to throw at her. Then, hope smiled down upon them and she saw the witch fall back down as she attempted to stand. Relief washed through her in the quick moment she had to watch before the Senshi holding her whisked her away.
Caught up in another wave of nausea, though somewhat less than before, Alkaid didn't hear Saiph's promise. It wasn't until she was set down that she came back a bit to her senses. Of course, then she was immediately greeted with this girl poking at her body and drawing sharp gasps from her lips.
"I don't think anything is broken except my nose," she said quietly, blindly reaching to try and swat away hands from sheer reflex to protect herself from more pain. "Just bad bruises otherwise." Her eye was beginning to swell shut, and her nose had a gash that was dribbling blood down the side of her face. The back of her hair was a matted with a bit of blood as well from her initial fall, but other than that, it did seem to be mostly bad bruising on her torso - her face had taken the worst of it.

Fretfully, Saiph gnawed on her lip before coming to a decision. This girl needed better help than she, herself, could provide. And she didnt' really think there was a hospital around that would treat a senshi without said senshi being surrounded by the police. Hardly ideal.
"When you feel up to it, undo your transformation," she ordered gently. "I will to, just to be fair. I want to take you to a hospital and let them treat you. Especially since my attack is partly responsible for your current state. And since I seem to have saved you back there, I think introductions are in order."
Saiph smiled crookedly. Battles in back alleys were not exactly the places to be making friends.
"I'm Saiph."

It made sense, going back to her civilian form. She could feel the energy this form needed beginning to wear away at her quickly, especially as her body was trying to heal. Somehow, she felt safe showing herself to the girl that had saved her, reassured by her words as she looked up at her.
"Nice to meet you, Saiph," she managed a smile despite herself, even if her words were hoarse, "I'm Alkaid."
Then, with a deep breath, she shut her eyes and tried to convince herself that transforming back to her civilian form wouldn't hurt. As soon as it began, she knew it was a terrible lie. Her body contorted and she only just managed to bite back a sob as she was redeposited back on her feet.
"I don't mind going to a hospital," she said quietly once she could speak again, "thank you for being so willing to help." She wasn't sure she could have managed to get there on her own. This girl was proving to be much more than just a savior tonight, that was for sure. She gave her that weak smile again and offered a hand, "Khalla Anselm." She supposed she'd have to tell her that name too, especially if they were going to the hospital. Best to be polite about it, right?

Saiph smiled briefly as Alkaid undid her transformation and then put a supporting arm around the girl's shoulders once she was back on her feet. Warm concern radiated from her as she took Khalla's hand and gently shook it.
"Pleasure to meet you, Khalla. I'll be with you in a moment."
It was only a moment until Gabrielle Ivanovitch stood there, pushing a stray lock of hair back over her ear. Sliding an arm around Khalla's waist, she began to slowly walk.
"Gabrielle Ivanovitch. But I prefer being called Gabbie. And I think for the sake of covering our own asses, our story should be something along the lines of someone tried to mug you and ran off when I showed up. And don't mention it. I was hardly gonna leave you there to be killed. People like us need to stick togehter, right?"
Smiling reassuringly, Gabbie helped the other girl along. As far as she was concerned, Khalla needed someone to keep an eye on her. Lucky for her that Gabbie was just the person for the job.

She smiled as Gabrielle appeared before her, a gentle breath of relief fluttering past her lips as she was able to lean some of her weight into the body of the stronger teenager.
"Gabbie it is," she said, her smile strange in her swollen face, despite it's weakness. "And I think that's a fine story," her voice was growing increasingly hoarse, but despite it all she was pushing herself forward with Gabbie's aid.
"I'm glad someone came along, I really needed the help. I just can't do this alone," she shook her head, then immediately regretted it as a sharp pain shot down from the wound at the base. She had to pause walking as she drew a sharp breath to compose herself. After a moment she sighed and began again, throwing an apologetic glance up at her. "I can't stand by and idly watch either, though. I guess I should have thought about finding a partner long before now." Before she actually got herself beaten to a pulp. Sadly, that just wasn't how she operated. She had to make the mistake and learn.

Gabbie paused and eyed Khalla briefly before nodding to herself.
"You aren't that big or heavy looking. Get your arms around my neck and I'll piggyback you there. I wouldn't be surprised if you've got a minor concussion because of me."
And it had begun. Gabbie knew she was a mother hen type. Or rather, a mother wolf type. And Khalla's state had just placed her squarely into the category of "Touch My Friend/Pup/Chick and I Will Eat Your Face Off". Grinning, she cocked her head and winked, hoping to cheer the other girl up a bit.
"Well, looks like we both suffer from the same curse of civic-mindedness. As for finding a partner, looks like luck or fate found one for you. I just can't let you go out by yourself after people like that witch. What if you got killed? We'd both feel terrible."

Despite all misgivings she had about others helping her out on most occasions, Khalla realized that she should probably not be so proud right then. She could barely move, let alone walk, and the other girl certainly looked more sturdy than Khalla on a good day. With a deep breath, Khalla moved around to Gabbie's back and slung her arms over her shoulders and around her neck.
"Well, I wish fate had done in a little less violent way, but I'll take you gladly," she even managed a laugh, despite the fact that she was sure some ribs were either bruised or broken. Her head leaned against Gabbie's back as she waited for the pair of them to start moving again, her hands tightening around each other so that she wouldn't slip and fall. "I'm sure nothing will go wrong now that I've got you looking out for me."
It wasn't the night she had been expecting by any means, but what was she supposed to expect anymore with this new part of herself revealed? Still, as she listened to Gabbie's heartbeat through her back, a sense of calm spread over her and she let herself be soothed. This was the start of a new chapter in this new life and even if it had a gorey start, well, she hoped it had a happy ending.

Patting Khalla's hand reassuringly before she bent slightly forward and hooked her forearms under the other girl's knees, Gabbie chuckled. Then she winced a little as her shoulder twinged. Oh, she was going to have such a spectacular bruise there in the morning. Carrying Khalla, Gabbie walked as quickly as possible.
"Well, Fate tends to enjoy making things interesting, I think," she spoke cheerfully. "And as long as Im around, kiddo, I'm not going to let anything hurt you like this again. Promise."
They were almost at the hospital now. Taking a deep breath, she mentally rehearsed their story.
